You could literally feel the loneliness coming off him! Quite spectacular.

A lot of Heartstopper’s acting felt like it was from a junior school play (which contributed to the show’s wholesomeness - I’m sure it’s a director’s choice) while at the other end of the spectrum YR’s acting is so hyper realistic that you can’t believe these are real teenagers (some in their first professional role). Class, snazz and sass all rolled into one.

Thoroughly enjoyed watching you react to what has become one of my all-time favorite shows. As I said before, it’s just so fun to see someone new get caught off guard by the strength of the show the way so many of us did. I’m not sure if others have mentioned it, but a lot of the actors are new or inexperienced with acting, which makes the performances even that more impressive. Omar Rudberg who played Simon debuted with acting in this role. He didn’t even act in school and had only been to 1-2 other castings when he auditioned for the show. As others have mentioned, he was in a very popular boy band from the age of 14 or so and now he’s an independent music artist, but I will never stop applauding his debut performance here. Every single time I watch the scene of him finding out Wille said it wasn’t him in the video my stomach sinks right along with him. We see every emotion pass over his face, and it’s just heartbreaking. Edvin, the actor who played Wilhelm has been acting since he was a kid, I think around 3-4yrs old? He was only 17 for most of the recording of S1, so his talent is also incredibly impressive. I expect we’ll see big things during his career. He has said he wants to act well into old-age. It’s so impressive that they’ve found their passions so early. Frida, the actress who played Sara and Nikita, the actress who played Felice are also pretty new to acting. Kudos to all. Everyone stepped their game up even further in S2, so I can’t wait to see you react to it. Even though Lisa imagined the show to always be 3 seasons, I’m still mourning what could have been an even longer run for this amazing show. I thought/hoped we’d safely see all 3 years of Wille being at Hillerska at least, but sigh. I just hope we get more than 6 episodes in S3. Sorry for writing an essay-length comment. 🙃

I completely agree with the three act structure of the season. Watching the show is perfect when watched in episode pairs. The flow of it all feels very intentional. I love or empathize with all the characters which is such a talent in the writing. I love the Queen bringing the macro aspect of everything to enforce the nuance of the drama. Felice is definitely my favorite character, she's such a sweetheart.
Are you going to continue with Season 2? It's basically like a Part 2 to Season 1, since the seasons are so short and there is only a small timejump over Christmas and New Years and Season 2 picks up at the final couple of days of Christmas break. (So Season 1 covers September to December, Season 2 covers January to March and looks like Season 3 will be covering March to June, so it's Wille's first year at boarding school in 3 acts)

This shows ability to make you feel all the feels. One minute you're happy the next you're consumed with rage and then sad, it's so good. I can not say enough for how perfect the acting and everything was in the last 2 ep. Looking forward to whenever you decide to do season 2. 2 thoughts I just have to get out I really don't get how they thought blaming Simon for the drugs would keep Alexander from being in trouble when he was caught with the drugs, wouldn't that have just made both Simon and Alexander be in trouble since again Alex was the 1 caught with the drugs? How that made sense in their little teen brains. Also has anyone told you the story behind the fishes names? They are named after Omar's former band mates. Edvin seemed very proud in an interview that it was his idea to name them after them.

Yes Alexander was caught with the drugs, but he was just carrying them, Simon was the one who provided them and if they all except Wille had said that to the headmistress, Alexander would have been just the one carrying them. Even if Wille had said the truth that August gave them to him, it wouldn't have made any difference because August would have said that Simon gave them to him and all the others would have backed him up.
Yes, it was supposed to just be a joke to name the fish after his former band mates. Omar worried that if they didn't like that idea or it would cause problems, then they'd have to do the scene all over again. So that's why he gave them nicknames: Felle for Felix, Oski for Oscar, and Olly (another Oscar?). FOOO / FO&O

I just saw it as: he’s so young and not even king yet (if he’ll decide to be king), there are so many directions for it to go with regards to the other characters as well, new characters, etc, and the seasons are so short, just seemed ripe for a long life :)
If you like these school LGBT series I’d recommend Love Victor. It’s a good series and gives a good representation of being LGBT in a Latino household.

I like your reaction because you seem to understant both of Simon and Wille's situation. Many people just curse Wille. I feel so bad for both of them and they are both suffering. I would lose my mind if I was born in royal family. There is no freedom. I am on disability pension(yay rheumatoid arthritis, bipolar and ADHD!) queer and poor so I understand Simon very well and would probably act the same way he does. But there is more freedom for us "nobodies."

@@DavidvsFilm it is good to finish the show as intended rather than for the money's sake if you know what I mean. Some shows like Shameless lose the good story for the sake of many seasons. I am glad this show will not go that way.
@@EmberC Well I can definitely support that. And from my perspective, not yet knowing what Season 2 holds, it’s premature for me to assume. I just saw it as: he’s so young and not even king yet (if he’ll decide to be king), there are so many directions for it to go with regards to the other characters as well, new characters, etc, and the seasons are so short, just seemed ripe for a long life :)
If you like these school LGBT series I’d recommend Love Victor. It’s a good series and gives a good representation of being LGBT in a Latino household.

Aww thank you, Dora!! I can definitely assure you that I have become hopelessly invested in these characters and their stories. I liked what I saw in pretty much from the beginning, but I knew I was hooked for good during the last 5 minutes of Episode 1 lol. When that screen went black and the credits popped up, I was like, "NOOOOOO!!!"
I like your reaction because you seem to understant both of Simon and Wille's situation. Many people just curse Wille. I feel so bad for both of them and they are both suffering. I would lose my mind if I was born in royal family. There is no freedom.
I am on disability pension(yay rheumatoid arthritis, bipolar and ADHD!) queer and poor so I understand Simon very well and would probably act the same way he does. But there is more freedom for us "nobodies."

wilham and simon got strong chemistry and there passion and there connection is so magical i love them you can see both of them are feeling pain because of what happen because of what august did and how wilham mother dont care all she think is about the crown nothing else its her fault as well makeing wilham to lie about the video but also u can see they still in love with each other and the song is so pain for its hurts i love how Wilhelm said to simon i love you and hug him because he still love him and simon love him too and i love when wilham look into the camera and that look means its going to be a new revolution
