Love my whip fishing on the Thames,Lea and Stort. Had some really good nets of silvers. At nearly 70 years old i try and get out at least 3 times a week weather permitting. Just bought 2 Preston’s Response whips at 5 & 8 metres, not used them yet but will be in the weeks ahead🎣👍
Great video Lee. A simple whip setup, some maggots, worms and a bit of groundbait. Result a nice net of fish, doesn’t get any simpler or better than that. Bill
Hi Guys, my son has started fishing and is loving it, looks like hes got the fishing bug. He's found a small pound and he's on a Drennan 4mtr whip pole. His whip pole came as a kit with the Drennan float and line. He's catching small rouch and perch which is fine, but he's found there's bigger fish that taking his bait, he thinks carp. It's breaking his line were the pre line hooks attaches to the Drennan float line. What size Drennan whip float kit and what size hook line do you recommend so he can land these bigger fish on his ship??? Cheers
Lee. Great video, I've just brought a 6 meter whip so will try this on the Trent. Would you still use ground-bait in winter-spring buddy? Your work is excellent and not too much advertising of the sponsor. 5 Star.
hi there, you said you"ve got about a foot hook length why ? why are"nt you using a 4" or 5" ect, or is it the deeper the water the longer the hook length. thanx m8
nice rod, definitely on my wish list. there's my 2 cents. when you make big balls of ground bait and put live maggots into them, these live maggots will break ball quite fast. better to put dead maggots into ground bait. to kill them just freeze them or pour hot water on them. cheers!
Rotherham & District Angling federation water. Day tickets are available on the bank( think £4 ) off the Bailiff. Also do a yearbook, which obviously includes this one & other waters. Details on the Rotherham & Dist Facebook page.
Where can you buy these floats from please ?? To answer my previous comment this stretch is immediately upstream of the bridge across to what used to be the Earth Centre in Denaby and controlled by Rotherham Association who do sell day tickets.
Great video :-) when using the whip in Ireland fishing with the flick tip (I notice flick tip is very thin) would you use it as it is or does it require cutting back slightly - thanks Dave

Hi ya bill hope ya we'll,, will you be investing in one of those whips come poles..? Look a nice bit of kit and very versatile.
Your sadly missed bill i miss your easy fishing videos rip Bill
Nice. Whip fishing implies adjusting the depth all Day because of the freedom of presentation that commes with this technic
Great video! Bought my girlfriend a whip and she really loves fishing with it. Really easy and fun!
Love a bit of S&M
That rig of yours Lee would be nice to see ready made up for sale in tackle shops , do love a nice Bolo float.

I wouldn’t really advise a beginner to try landing bigger carp on the whip, because the whip could break.
Very cool *Fishing,* Congratulations, Beautiful Video. Have a very successful week. HUG and good *Fishing.* 👍😎
Some decent sized roach been coming out of the stretch at sprotbrough, never tried a whip on there tho
Great video thanks for these tips

Looks mint that river
The Don has made a great comeback over the years, a good head of barbell proves this good fishing at spotbrough below the wear just off the A1.

Is this a Day Ticket stretch or is it association water ? Great video as usual Lee.

The whip as it is, is better for smaller fish. For fishing in Ireland chopping the tip back a bit will help stiffen the action.
Spot on lee
Semplice pesca alla passata con canna fissa niente di nuovo!!
It is if you haven’t seen it before!
