The Avatar is one of the few Titan-class vessels in EVE Online and the most popular amongst all of them. But why do players choose to fly this giant despite its tremendous cost?

One issue with ships in EVE is that it's quite difficult to give a sense of scale: the ships are much bigger than we sense them to be. Maybe it's because they are controlled by only one capsuleer (I haven't seen much lore on whether the ships are crewed or not but ot doesn't matter because the capsuleers are the only visible ones). For example, it's easy to see the Enterprise-D as a large ship yet it's slightly smaller than the Drake. The Apocalypse is the same size as the Star Wars Star Destroyer and the little Tristan is bigger than the Millennium Falcon.
We can get a sense of the size of these other ships because we get to see them up close and inside too, but most times in EVE, ships are just a small coloured box because you're zoomed out. It's even to know how big a Coercer is compared to a Condor till they're side by side.
However, caps and supercaps stand out because they are so huge, larger than even stargates.
This is due to the scaling of celestial bodies. Some of them are too small. When I fly around planets with a speed punisher at a constant speed of over 8k m/s, it often doesn't take long. There are larger celestial bodies, but many appear too small.
Especially in relation to some stations. If the station is larger than the moon in whose orbit it appears to be, for example, I had that in the Guristas area when I wanted to do missions there as a neut.
As far as I know, ships are supposed to have crews. Every time you die, all crew members die, so to speak. Since they can't respawn in clone tanks ^^
This video is really fascinating! I am impressed with the high level of detail about the legendary Avatar ship and its significance in the world of Eve Online. The authors successfully combined informativeness with an exciting presentation, revealing why this huge ship is chosen by players. I recommend it to all fans of space games!

tbh Ragnarok should be next in line for an overhaul, it doesn't look "whatever was left on the battlefield + a random space scrapheap welded together" enough. Not enough random bits and bobs sticking around, no radiators, not vertical...
Caldari is angular and in line with other ships, Gallente is phallic... which is also in line with other Gallente ships

I have no ambitions to fly a Titan, even after 19 years in the game, but can appreciate those who do and this is Eve inspirational promotion at its finest. Yes, there's a fine line between promotion and propaganda but I think (biased though I may be) that this falls on the right side. As any Eve pilot will tell you ''Who gives a f**k what anyone else thinks anyway?''

CCPlease, you can't just warp the mass of a Titan into the NYC tristate area without warning about the earthquakes the gravitation shift will cause. A lot of folks were alarmed by that today.

Its my opinion that anything larger than a battlecruiser is just not worth to build for a solo player. Theres countless logistical obstacles in the way.

You already can pilot something bigger than a titan. In fact, it has the capability of housing MULTIPLE titans in its hold/hangar. And the Superweapon it uses can take out multiple Capital ships in one shot. Behold, "the power of a fully armed and operational battlestation..." The Keepstar!

Used to be a Corp by the name of Kaesong Kapitals that built and sold capital ships to players at a discount of 25% off total cost, 10% off flight fit, and 5% off battle fit. (Jita prices, of course)
It was much easier and they usually only took a week for delivery.
@@oneevilchef Hope theirs something like that later on. But in the few years i came back, on a solid main acount. I'm almost up to dreadnaught status. I don't own one but can definitely buy one. My goal since coming back, despite what they said in the video is still to just get one and fly it. Yes i just want one to say i did it. They're monumental and that's why i want blueprints. So not only do i build it in spirit of my journey. But also so i become infinitely more valualble as a person with qualifications to build a fucking titan. I built other things like drugs, fighter ships and drones. Well as mobile stations nuclear reactors. When i do feel like joining a corp no one should turn down my resume. Even if i am bad at pvp.

You don't need to make them cheaper They were not designed to be cheap. Making them better will entice corps to field them instead of just dreads.

Max Singularity is the only player in EVE Online history to be "yellow boxed" by a Titan in High Security Space. In YC117 the pilot was the late Jamyl Sarum, styled Jamyl I, and she was the Empress of the Amarr Empire from YC110 to YC117 when she was assonated later by the Drifters. Max Singularity, styled Space Pope, launched an inquisition against Jamyl to prove she was illegally the Empress as she was a clone. When the drifters destroyed her capsule, she did not clone and the competition for the new Amarr Ruler commenced. Max Singularity was chosen as the first champion for Urium Kador, but lost his championship round due to "Magnate Gate" conspiracy against him (CCP messed up the Magnate entry for the competition by accident). Max's yellow box incident is still celibrated in the Safizon System where Jamyl's Titan wreck still exists to this day.

I am on a 2 year solo plan to make my first titan. It is doable but not easy. Also, there is a better titan than the Avatar. It's called the Molok.
Credit creators please, and use 3rd partys that have actually played the fucking game before please. There are many talented EVE online creators out there, such as Shanna Alabel, Khanpaso, Grunt Kado, Rhayn Rowe, or I-402.
Also, look for Eve Outtakes, a decade later and they still have better battle graphics and physics than any official eve video.

He can zoom in and view our galaxy, zoom in on Earth and have a “satellite view”, zoom in on each individual, and scale the whole universe to fit on the palm of His hand. Think of it like viewing Google Earth, you can pinch zoom and move around, but the information stays intact. That may be why His word says: In him we live and move and have our being. And how He is able to measure the mountains and heavens on the palm of His hands. I hope this made sense and were able to fathom it with imagination.

EVE Online Ships are big by sci-fi (old sci-fi) standards but (new sci-fi) standards then no.
Take for example (HALO) (STAR WARS) and Stellaris Juggernaut as an Earth-sized Planet, but I'm not here to argue what's big and what's huge.
I'm here to talk about how CCP should love all TITANS the same because Erebus, Leviathan, and Ragnarok really need a new face and new model, new animations, new doomsday and ship effects just a new Old just like the AVATAR TITAN which CCP tend to lean more and hold favoritism than the rest when all this ship make what EVE Online it is today.

Gee.... All the swings with the nerf bat, mr. small gang pvp crying everytime someone in null sec used them, and the devs decision to enter null sec into a age of "scarcity", they now make a video about the ship types that are the biggest pain in the dick to build in the game. Pre-2018, you could build these with two accounts. Now, you need at least 4 active pilots, one in high sec to get the tritanium, one in wormholes to mine the gas, and two in null sec. One to get the moon ore and one to do the P.I/ratting to get the rest.

With the Avatars lenght (and dont forget width and height) of 36 Empire State Buildings (not counting the spire) and weight ONLY 7 ESB the ship is clearly just a hollow paper sculpure.
