I remember when they cut our pay right after 2020 and we were supposed to get more base for higher mile orders the example they gave was 7 miles for $4.25 base. It never hardly got over $2.25 even though the miles added up. This is one of the biggest issues I have with company and hiding tips on independent contractors. My first day worked 7 hours and made $162.75 on Sunday….. didn’t know Sunday get down like that I guess that’s because I do Uptown so I’m only getting people with money and nice locations
Two things here: 1- I have been doing this for almost 2 years and I regularly schedule entire days a week in advance . I also always start 15 minutes before my scheduled shift begins because they allow you to do so. This has made no difference in the amount of peak pay orders I get. 2- They regularly only offer peak when it is the slowest and only offer unexpected peak when it's bad weather and most Dashers go home. Peak is a complete fools game in my market and time testing has proven to me that when I avoid it I make a better money for time spent ratio EVERY time. Peak pay especially in smaller markets is NOTHING but manipulation by doordash for coverage.
😂😂😂 Here in Michigan... If u schedule u won't know how much u make until u deliver...So... 😂 U may deliver an order 8 miles and get $3.75..or 12 miles $6.25...I Don't do Schedules... NOPE
I avoid PP. If you’re not already out here dashing just stay home lol. Consistency is where you really win. Trying to come out and make a quick buck is where people lose. Who cares if it has a tip or not I’m looking at what I’m going to get, the time and the miles. PP don’t even matter. In my opinion.
I agree so much. I've seen a $4 PPay bring out dashers in pajamas, slippers, and hair rollers. 🤦♀️. So disrespectful to the customer for one. People just don't get that this is still a job, a career, a business, a profession. Things like that are inappropriate and unacceptable.
They’re a place about 45 mins away from me that have peak pay from 5am to midnight but it’s consider to be a highly racist area and I don’t want to get false claims against me.
In Vegas, I HATE peak pay!! In my experience and as of late, peak pay automatically means I'm not going to make any money. 2 hours straight of no orders on DD, but it's popping off on uber? Guess I'm working uber.
I regularly have stacked orders that don't appear to be stacked orders at first. I'll be on my way to deliver an order I've picked up and then the app tries to route me to another restaurant that I never accepted the delivery for. I had that happen once and the first customer tried to change the delivery address to a place ten miles further away than they originally said.

This info is absolutely correct and valuable. Anytime I see more than a $2. PPay I know that either the orders will come with longer wait times for orders ....I usually wait BUT there have been times I just skipped out and went to an area adjacent to the high PPay so I could make my goals for the day. ALSO...it took me over 3000 deliveries because I caught on to the need to keep my regular limits $6. rather than wait for an $8 minimum...in other words...don't hold out for large orders...just take the fair pay and don't worry about who paid it.
100% agreement! I take double orders all the time and usually one the order has no tip, but if the miles are low compared to the payout, I take those orders all day.
I noticed that when I dash on $3.00 Peak Pay my Base Pay drops from $3.50 to $2.50 for an order with same mileage and difficulty. Does anyone else notice this?
Had peak pay this morning and did nothing for 2 hours along with 10 other dashers in the middle of 8 restaurants. We all had scheduled a week in advance before the peak pay was listed and it was only $1
Good tips. Today was my first day 155$ in a little under 8 hours and I figured out towards the end that certain parts of town tip way more and I have that area reserved for tommorow with peak pay
I worked in pouring rain on Halloween...averaged $36/hour for the 3 hours (thanks to stacked peak pays adding $5/order) I tacked onto my 7-hour day..ended at over $250 for that day.

Once the app shut down and would not restart while I was on a delivery. They don't speak very good English, but they're usually nice XD
Door dash = You waiting in a drive through or line for 30 minutes to an hour to pick up an if you're lucky $10 order. I drove all over STL and put in 40 hour weeks and was constantly trying. Always had an order but always had to wait at the extremely slow service restaurants! No thanks, would rather flip the burgers. My busiest week was 51 orders complete with 42 hours logged for that week. Slowest and more accurate 18 orders complete 30 hours logged. Nothing like sitting at Walmart trying to help them figure their crap out for 30 minutes. Fastest place to pick up from was McDonalds and even then it was usually 5 minutes to wait but I would get very few McDonald's orders pushed to me.
A lot of you guys must be in really bad markets because I live in Chicago downtown and every day peak time Are very common here and pay a lot I make about $30-40 an hour on average. Without peak time I look at $20-$30 a hour.
I just have a question. If we are accepting a contract containing two orders to be delivered to the customer for a certain amount and then they cancel one of the orders our pay goes down shouldn't they still pay full pay for the other order since that's what we accepted it at otherwise it's really not worth the trip? I would not have accepted an order if it would have been only $8 to go 11 miles

Hey man, so i just got the email and notification for those eligble to reset their acceptance rate lower than 50% to be reset for Higher pay orders the next two weeks, and If I keep the statistics up, I'll still get them? is it worth doing and resetting? I'm not sure myself, as essentially its reset. you could get 2-4 declines ina row and be off to a bad start. just curious on opinions. ( i've only been dashing for 3 weeks now )
I’ve been dashing a year last month I did the reset and keeps my a.r right around 58% but I do know that your correct you have to really watch how many you decline bc you will be off to a bad start but for me keeping it above 50 % I do notice quite a few more orders with the Diamond which mean high pay … always find your own system if you said your new but always watch Bentleys videos bc he has helpful info I just made $507 last week for 19 hours of work can’t beat that !!! Good luck
So I got this on Tuesday and I accepted. You basically raise you AR by accepting each order that comes your way - it seems 1% per order. If you decline though your AR gets knocked down 2-3%. So you gotta be careful. The higher orders??? Meh - its just $2 per mile, usually 1-4 mile and under $7 - no BIG difference. You may get (depending on the order and if you have to wait) a few dollars more after completion. But how they used to pay a little more if you marked that you had to wait on an order - that is NOT happening. They say that if you choose the Pay by the Hour option you will get additional pay for your wait time, etc. I actually think this is just a bait and switch tactic. My earning, I feel, are still being capped. Once I hit $100 for the day I get sent on orders that are out of my zone and then get hit on the way back with a bunch of low pay high mile orders or being sent to the same store over and over again (chick fil a for example - I don’t understand why people love it so much). I realize that when I get those types of orders I have to hit pause after delivery or just pause until I get back to my zone. I also feel that MY market by Dayton Mall is AWFUL. When I try to go to other zones (Springboro/Bellbrook) I ALWAYS get sent right back to Chick fil A at the Dayton Mall. I hate it!!!! I am still hitting $10-15/hour. I don’t understand how people are making more than $200/day just with DD - but its probably from multi-apping. I was trying to do that, but it’s exhausting when you are by yourself. I am already dashing a little above 8 hours a day to make $130!!

I don't know man I just started about a month ago I only work mornings to make a few extra bucks and I'm averaging about $18 an hour being disabled it is the perfect job for me but to each his own
Everytime I'm scheduled and already in the area for peak pay, especially $2.50+ per order, I get almost no orders whatsoever. And I haven't been seeing other dashers or delivery drivers moving any either. I get that it's based off projected traffic/established patterns/events in the area, but it just seems like there hasn't been any opportunities during the highest paying peak times recently, and I just can't imagine DD is this far off in their projections, so what's going on?
Sometimes, peak pay is a bribe to get you to a SLOW region so at least somebody is there to deliver. (we have several smaller zones that ALWAYS have $3 peak pay in effect. Have tried dashing there... waiting 45 minutes for even one order...yeah HARD pass.)
I guess I am lucky and I live in an area where the amount of orders never has enough dashers so I don't have to play the scheduling game 90% of the time I open the app and it's dark red. The other 10% of the time it's for their light red or it's way too early in the morning.
I work 30 hours/week and average $500-$600 each week in my zone...with this, I pay for 2 cars and a few our other expenses. I would not be able to support a family on this, but as additional income for the house, it works!
Quick question…I figured everyone tipped like I do, so I thought this was going to be worth it. Please help! Out of all the Dashes I ran today, I had ONE that tipped. Wassupwiddat? My average tip given is ten bucks….my average receiving tips is 0 (ahead of time). However, because of the little thing that says “accepted rate” or whatever….it intimidates me to take the two dollar trips so that my numbers don’t decrease. What do I do? I was out today for 3 hours and made 20 bucks. During peak times in the peak areas. Help!
You can let your acceptance rate drop to 0 shorty. That's the only rating that's somewhat irrelevant contrary to what doordash wants you to think. I've personally let my acceptance rate drop to 3% before. It's my personal preference to average $30 an hour with a minimum of $20/hr on bad / slow days. You can tell if a customer tipped or not based on the initial offer on your screen. $2.25 or $2.50 is the doordash base pay, so anything over that is usually a tip. Unless the order is from like Sephora or Gamestop, the base pay for those kinds of places is usually higher, in my market anyway.
Turn down those 2.50 orders. Do not take them. When I first started I did and they'd usually be a long drive and end up with zero tip. Ignore those - with gas what it is, I've lost money on every single one and I can't afford to pay any portion of anyone's dinner. Set a base for what you'll accept. If it's not busy, I'll take a five dollar order. If it is, It's likely there are better. Your acceptance rate isn't very important, really (I think mine is at 83% still and I skip low paying orders all the time.) Beware the stacked orders that have you tied up for an hour. You could do three (sometimes four if they're close) others in that time that will probably pay you more in total. You've got to set boundaries with door dash or any other delivery app. People want something for nothing. They can go get their own food. XD
Rule 1: No orders under $6 UNLESS it is very short and pays at least $2/mile (So I will accept a $4.75 to take some Chick-Fil-A 1 mile down the road.) Rule 2: No orders accepted that pay less than $1/mile for those over $6 pay. Rule 3: if it is under $3 it is pretty much guaranteed to be no tip in there and NOT worth your time. Don't expect cash tips, those RARELY appear from the no tip at the time of order people, instead, I get an additional $10 from people who already tipped for their order more often. And those are still rare.
@@sharikenny5196 I mean, that's fine too. But most markets don't give the kind of luxury for people to cherry pick that religiously. I've taken $3 orders going from McDonald's 1 mile - 2 miles. I've taken $16 orders going 10 miles. Really just depends, though I generally end up doing $7.50 - $9 going 4 miles. That's just how my market is 🤷🏾♂️. The large order program is what keeps me locked in, otherwise I'd just go back to working two full time jobs.
You are speaking specifically in regards to your own personal situations, right? You should put a disclaimer - results not typical. Also please come to Dayton Ohio and rate and advise. #thatisall In our market peak times seem to go as fast as they post them.
In my area as you said you only get peak pay when it's very slow you only make it when it's a spontaneous. As a top dasher to me it works but again with everything it's has its downfalls but thanks for the vid very informative.
Could you do a video on why a certain area in a market may have consistent peak pay? There are two or three areas in my market that are offering $3-$5 peak pay 24 hrs a day, 7 days a week.
We're out in the country and they offer peak pay 24 hours a day in a neighboring town. It's got many dashers so orders are slow. When you sit for 45 minutes without an order it's not worth it in my opinion

My first day worked 7 hours and made $162.75 on Sunday….. didn’t know Sunday get down like that I guess that’s because I do Uptown so I’m only getting people with money and nice locations
Peak pay is the worst. It’s slower during peak pay promos because they let way too many drivers on the road so you end up sitting.
Two things here:
1- I have been doing this for almost 2 years and I regularly schedule entire days a week in advance .
If door pays peak pay then they can afford to pay it all the time
Hi BENTLY Q: Base access?
What does the first order look like on a Samsung? Anyone? 🤗

Peak pay on the strip was tough!!! I definitely went a prolonged time without orders
Did anyone else experience the latest glitch? Orders just vanish from my screen. After I pick it up and I'm told that I unassigned it, but I didn't.
That's called someone AT HQ weeding em out
I regularly have stacked orders that don't appear to be stacked orders at first. I'll be on my way to deliver an order I've picked up and then the app tries to route me to another restaurant that I never accepted the delivery for. I had that happen once and the first customer tried to change the delivery address to a place ten miles further away than they originally said.

Peak Pay is very vital especially if you need to get off to a good start on your shift!
My peak pay doesn't show up for a week, it may show one day, and then peak pay is added without warning
Not in Michigan! If u schedule...u don't know how much u will make off each order...so I just Operate off each order! That's Michigan
I noticed that when I dash on $3.00 Peak Pay my Base Pay drops from $3.50 to $2.50 for an order with same mileage and difficulty. Does anyone else notice this?
I've experienced this before, I think it's useless
Me too. .
Had peak pay this morning and did nothing for 2 hours along with 10 other dashers in the middle of 8 restaurants. We all had scheduled a week in advance before the peak pay was listed and it was only $1
😳 dang. But how do you connect with other dashers? Or did you know them already?? I always wondered
@@roxette24 I try to connect to other dashers that way when it seems unusually slow I have people to talk shop with.

If you call them and tell them what's going on, they'll take the one stars off - I've had that happen twice. You have to do this while it's happening - while things are getting screwed up.
To man opening thank you

Good luck
Doordash made the same offer, however, when I got to 50% , they said if I got to 70% I could get higher orders. It's the carrot and stick incentive!
@@ilinda6778 I got this also but do notice a difference in orders by staying just between 50-59%
So I got this on Tuesday and I accepted.
@@dpwilson802 I’d like to come back to this comment and add more info later but I am in the Detroit Michigan area and I’m making about 20 to 25 an hour I made $507 last week for 19 hours of work my orders are coming in anywhere from $4.25 for a 2 to 3 mile journey toeight to $10 for like a 4 to6 mile journey on average of three hours a night I’m making about $55-$100 The reason I’d like to come back and add more info later it’s because I am seeing a lot of similarities with situations that you mentioned like always being sent back to certain locations ect good luck to all make that money

I used to make $25-$30 a hour using Bentley’s tips in 2020/2021. I stopped dashing now though.
learn how to adapt and adjust and not use just one app. or more do it elsewhere. its probably 45$ an hour in his market. i easily make well over 20+ following some things he said. maybe you're not in a market area. maybe YOU are the problem and not door dash. WE get to pick and choose orders. be smart
I don't know man I just started about a month ago I only work mornings to make a few extra bucks and I'm averaging about $18 an hour being disabled it is the perfect job for me but to each his own
It's in the A.M. 99% of the time here.
How are you sure markets across the country behave the same?
What is your current acceptance rate?
I avoid areas with peak pay at all costs. Not worth it. The area is ALWAYS oversaturated with dashers and you just literally sit. No thank you.
Happens to me all the time I don’t get it
Sometimes, peak pay is a bribe to get you to a SLOW region so at least somebody is there to deliver.
Can you do a video about can doordash payments buy a house or a car or rent an apartment?
Alone no. It's just too inconsistent 3v3n if your game is on point.
XD
Rule 1: No orders under $6 UNLESS it is very short and pays at least $2/mile (So I will accept a $4.75 to take some Chick-Fil-A 1 mile down the road.)
Rule 2: No orders accepted that pay less than $1/mile for those over $6 pay.
#thatisall In our market peak times seem to go as fast as they post them.
i agree. I dash in ohio also. More westside/south ohio. but peak times just are gone as soon as posted.
Same for me!
