    You can't get bored listening to this or any other Robben Ford piece. I listen to this and other versions of it all the time - on loop - and its always interesting. He's my favourite blues guitarist. He just knows so much and then his touch, dynamics and musicality are incredicle. Can't wait to see him next year when he does a little tour of the UK in May 2025.

    Robben + Roscoe Beck on 6 String Bass & Tommy on drums = "The Blue Line" - + Bill Boulibard on Hammond Organ. What a great sound he gets out of that Fender Elite! - my favorite sound of all his guitars!

    Thing about Robben is the timing feel is impeccable...can't say the same for a lot of guitarists... specially in the blues

    this song, which is a recomposition by an older blues standard, has such nice harmoni and chord voicing. Robben Ford really has this ability, to take a popular standard and make it sound fresh and even more interesting as the original. This is also a great song for practicing the symetric diminished scales, the diminshed wholetone scale and the melodic minor. After all these years I still use this song for practicing, and I never feel bored! great stuff!!

    Love the way he tunes up at the 1:40 mark. As a player, you can feel if the tension on the string is off, even though you may not hear it as flat, or sharp. Robben is one of a kind. This video is late or mid eighties? Imperial strut from Yellowjacket’s pretty much says it all.

      Steve LaCombe yes, based on the Esprit. He likes heavy strings and not too low so that he can work them. Awesome guitar player mixing old school blues, bits or R&B, jazz, rock. Could play Shoe box and rubber band, he's got me. Peace

    • @nitetrane98
      @nitetrane98 7 років тому +2

      Yes it is. Funny how he's never seen playing one anymore. I guess the money ran out with Fender. I always thought he did some of his best work with this guitar. Of course he's one of those guys that pick up a Silvertone and make it sound like god.

      I noticed that he checked & tuned three times! One was obvious but the other two were very subtle and not easy to see. He is a master! Is the tuning the reason he no longer uses the Fender Elite but uses the Tele or a Les Paul? Interesting to know
