    Plug that hole in the filter housing and send that return fuel back to tank. It will give the fuel a better chance of cooling down a bit before it ends up back at the injectors👍

    you could put the 90° in the place of the straight piece, then put an extension piece then another 90° to offset the two 90°.
    Hope that makes sense.

    big rig, great video. also a great idea to crack your injector lines when you bleed a fuel filter. just crack them, allow afew squirts of fresh diesel and nip them back up. do this one by one along the rail!

    almost 4k subs man that's awesome, good to see so many onboard following the build! Def on the bucket list to do up an old cruiser hey, coil conversions going to be a game changer, pretty keen to see part 2 of how that goes!

    Replace the straight fitting with a rotatable/swivel barb fitting. Just the thread will turn not the whole fitting

    Look up speedflow for suitable fitting. You will be able to get the base that scares into the filter and then a hose barb that screws into the base.. Keep up the good work

    Maybe try a 90° hose of the straight fitting then put a joiner between the 90° hose and your return hose, wouldn't look as good but it'd work

    consider putting the straight barb out the backside? as the return to motor, and moving the angle and plug fitting on the front, so the straight is more hidden behind

    Great video man, secondary filters are a must on 4wds, especially if you go touring, don't know how clean the fuel is in some places!

    Start both 90 fittings at the same time and turn them both, they will stay relative to each other as you turn them and that way you have two 90s on the same side.

    Thanks for taking the time to explain the secondary fuel filter pros. I’ve been thinking about putting one on my GQ. Also, what was that pen you used to mark up the holes you drilled for the rivnuts? Assuming it seals the body work from rust?

    • @ShedBuilt
      @ShedBuilt  4 роки тому +1

      No worries! Just a paint pen to protect the bare steel from rusting

    Loving the videos, good inspiration for my new HJ75 project! For the fuel fitting, you can use a 90deg NPT to swivel barb from a hydraulic shop or alloy one from eBay/performance shop. Other way would be to use a NPT Male-Male straight to bring it out then a 90 but it might get messy with too many fittings hanging off.

    i just found your channel and really enjoy your build. Unfortunately, we can't have those car here but maybe one day i will be able to buy one once i will leave the USA. Btw, do you think we can put 3 fuel filter in a LAND CRUISER (2 EXTRA SECONDARY FUEL FILTER) since diesel is prompt to be dirtier than gasoline when we get in the country?

  • @mark2073
    @mark2073 4 роки тому

    Cool thanks. These are under vacuum right since they suck from the tank? Is there a way to check if there are any tiny leaks in the fittings and barbs etc. and air gets in?

    Correct me if I'm wrong, but can you actually remove that filter. It looks mighty close the fender

    • @ShedBuilt
      @ShedBuilt  4 роки тому +2

      Yeah mate will have to remove it from the bracket but gave it a dry run first should have mentioned it 🤟

    Did you use a blank plug on the 4th connection of the fuel filter?

  • @Danlevis1

    Great vid! I'm doing the same to my 12ht 60s series and have noticed your fuel lines are different to mine. I have two seperate lines from my fuel tank to the two inlets on the engine. When doing this process, would it be best to merge the lines as it is on yours and rig it up the same way?

    • @ShedBuilt
      @ShedBuilt  3 роки тому

      Nope being mine is converted I only have 1 line out of my fuel tank. You would use both of your lines into the filter assembly

    I can never understand why a mechanic would wear a metal watch with a metal strap whilst working under the bonnet. Have you ever lent over the battery or shorted out a live terminal? Or filled your watch with diesel whilst installing a new filter?

    • @ShedBuilt
      @ShedBuilt  4 роки тому +1

      I’m no mechanic man just a backyard hack. Never had an issue with it though, been through hell and back on drill rigs and myself and the watch are still surviving....just
