thanks for a great review covering almost everything, just would have liked to see the sticker or for you to mention the option package it had e.g., 301A or 302A.
Glad you enjoyed this Ford review! And that will definitely be interesting to see since it has a lower starting price, but also the Ranger will still have a higher tow rating. Very similar trucks though.

@@BrosFOURRSpeed The Tacoma is not offered for sale in Britain or Europe, but we get the Hilux. However, it is possible to import a Tacoma to Europe if we like.
This truck would be perfect if the 8" screen was stock on all trims. Paying an extra $1000 just to get a touch screen which is standard on all new cars nowadays is a bit ridiculous. Even the cheapest new car in America, the Mitsubishi Mirage, has a nice big touch screen.

I just bought a 2021 Ranger XL STX 2 weeks ago and I got the 8” touch screen with mine. I don’t like or need all the fancy stuff that comes with upper trim levels. The XL STX is fine for me.
Hopefully FoMoCo has figured out how to build a boosted 4 cylinder engine that the block doesn’t crack on before it gets to 100K miles. Their track record is pretty bad so far. They also need a manual transmission option. Not all of us want a slushomatic transmission in our trucks.
@@BrosFOURRSpeed Thanks. I ordered a Ford Maverick Lariat been waiting 4.5 months for it and saw one at the local dealership and overwhelmingly decided the Ranger has better styling and options even though it has a higher sticker price.
Europe has the Ford Ranger as the only pickup truck by Ford for this market. It’s got a 2-litre biturbo diesel with a 6-speed manual or 10-speed automatic. The electric F-150 recently revealed will not come there unfortunately.
However, US roads are quite small, which could be why small cars like the Yaris GR and Volkswagen Polo aren’t available in the US. Oh, and sad news: Toyota said the Yaris GR won’t be coming to the United States, but there will be something with the same engine and the manual gearbox; but it’ll be slightly heavier.
Probably going to wait to see and drive the new updated 22/23 model since this version has been in production since 2012. Dislikes: Price gouging, these are priced about $8-10k above what they were just 5 months ago, outdated interior, halogen headlights, body roll-much more than full size trucks like the f150, spongey brakes that you have to press into to engage, and a super sensitive gas pedal that you can't rest your foot on. The back seat design and storage is pretty bad as well; after my test drive I saw that theres no reason to fold the seat up and folding the backseat down doesn't even lay flat. The fuel economy isn't impressive, the eco F150 models are putting out the same mpg with a much more capable truck.
The Ford Ranger has to have the WORST back seat Storage EVER. Notice those that are giving a review, never show how pathetic the storage is. The back seat does not even lay down flat. The is the only issue I have seen so far, but a big issue if you are going to be using it for moving stuff, because the bed is only 5 ft.
Ok dumb question time... will it pull a pop up camper weighing 37-3800 pounds?? If it will , then it is in the running. I want a truck but it has to do what a truck does,
@@BrosFOURRSpeed - To me, it's really only half-truck anymore..... the other half is still a passenger car, but that's the case with most trucks these days. This is a good start, though, in getting back to the compact pickup. I won't be spending $40K on one, however.... I'm in the process of rebuilding my 4X4 Dakota from the frame up, and will be about $12-$15K into it by the time it's done. Seems like a better investment.

Yeah the Ranger has the old interior from the European version that has been out for a lot longer. So this is really just a leftover truck from a different market. I'm sure a new version would compete well against the Tacoma

Good luck with those MPG... not even close, even with a bakflip tonneau. Awesome truck with great power but possibly the dumbest tyranny. The 10 speed is horrific. Clunks, is Jerry and can't decide which gear to be in unless I. Sport mode. With more power or a 7 speed it would be nearly perfect.
@@BrosFOURRSpeed Yeah, it does some weird stuff. I have had it in a few times just because I want to make sure there's nothing wrong and they claim everything is fine. But overall I absolutely love this truck, in fact my son just graduated college and I am giving him mine and probably buying another one. I just wish the stronger raptor version would come out.
@@BrosFOURRSpeed One more thing, it handles extremely well on the highway and in the mountains. I definitely noticed that it was super solid all the time and gives you a ton of confidence.
From what I've seen Tacoma does 0-60 in 7 seconds while the Ranger can do 6.1. Ranger is a bit faster with more torque and 10 speed transmission instead of just a 6
Just bought one yesterday, picking up Tuesday 👌👌👌👌👌
Hope you enjoy it! Congrats!
For a 4 cylinder 270 horses says a lot! Could only imagine how fast this one would be with a 6 cylinder.
Oh yeah! It’s a nice engine option to have and still plenty of power, but the V6 would be great if you need to tow more!
I am hoping for the raptor version in 2022 or 2023 that may have the V6 turbo 300+ hp.
That'd be super cool! Would be a monster with a V6!
