Tim Curry "Valorum" Pronunciation Fix | The Clone Wars AI Dub.

- This was an itch I've always wanted to scratch and now I have!
Within Star Wars, character names are often pronounced differently by various characters such as Princess Leia being referred to as "Leeya" or how Lando refers to Han etc. And when narrators read Star Wars books they often change the pronunciation entirely such as "Sifo Dyas".
Here however, I find it odd that a character suddenly forgets how to say a name he's said multiple times in live action. I understand Tim Curry probably read it as he saw it but I'm confused as to why nobody corrected him, so using ElevenLabs, @CrimsonMaulOfficial managed to correct it!
#ElevanLabs #TimCurry #Palpatine
I can't believe no one directing Tim caught this.
Sam couldn't do it. At. All.
So glad this exists, that clip has annoyed me for years lmao
I like to think Palpatine mispronounced the name on purpose.
Simple but effective!
I suppose adjusting a single word is the quickest fix but if you're messing with AI anyway, why not do a full vocal replacement with Ian Ambercrombie?
Anakin says Oba Diah and Oba Daiah, in The Lost One and Old Friends Not Forgotten. Always bothered me
I told him about it. I hope he fixes it
This is why I loves star wars fans.
I say tomato, you say tomahto. Sometimes after a decade, I say tomahto.
Happiest comes from the smallest of things
I feel like if we were to fix this entirely McDiarmid would probably pronounce “predecessor” as “predecessor” instead of “preedecessor”
oh, hi Sam, fancy seeing you here
In-universe theory: Palpatine stopped caring about Valorum long after he took his title of Supreme Chancellor from him
That bothered me too lol thank you 😂
Also wanna point out that at this point in the timeline, we are multiple years into the Clone Wars, so there is another inaccuracy within this exact same scene! When Palpatine says "10 years ago, I was a humble senator from Naboo", he is implying that Phantom Menace only takes place ten years before this episode. When in fact, it should take place 12 or even 13 years prior! This is an issue that is present in a couple other instances in this otherwise fantastic episode and it does honestly break Canon in my opinion. Especially because in the same episode, Dooku refers to the events of Clones as having taken place "all those years ago", so you can't argue the episode takes place immediately after Episode II either!
I think he's just rounding down. That's wouldn't be that unusual, especially for an older man.
@Mr.Meerkat well, his dialogue is in response to Yoda, who also says the event took place "ten years ago".
Tim Curry’s like clone wars Anakin
Truly glorious
Much better!
Nick fury: oh you kiss that mother with that mouth?
If you’re that good you should change the scene in rebels for Palpatine to say “Ahsoka” not “Ahshowka” 👍
the only time that an ai can be done right
I think we could chalk this to regional pronunciation trouble. Tim Curry is British, so maybe that was why he wasn’t told to go for the necessary pronunciation of the name.
They actually started using AI to predict patterns in cancer. That’s 100% the best use for it
Damn Witwier missed correcting this. Dudes fallen off.
It wasn't Witwer, it was Tim Curry ha!
@@StarWarsStory I know. But usually Witwer catches mistakes like this.
Speaks in Emperor - You have done well...
The funny thing about Star Wars is that no one really knows how to pronounce some of these names.
Question Palpatine would be 2 years in his term 10 years ago as the clone wars at that point is 2 years in at least
You good?
@@ImmortalAbsol huh?
@@ImmortalAbsolHe's saying that ten years prior to this episode in the timeline, Palpatine would've been two years into his Chancellor term already, because this episode takes place two years into the Clone Wars.
I love this channel
All fixed!
fantastic!
I would like to ask something about the Clone Wars Micro-Series Canon Edit. What are your plans in regards to Asajj Ventress introduction? Because in the micro-series she meets Dooku for the first time during the early months of the Clone Wars, she meets Palpatine in the same sequence, and her first mission is to kill Anakin on Yavin IV.
The problem is that in Dooku: Jedi Lost, despite also being found by Dooku in Rattatack fighting as a gladiator, she has a different sequence of events. The novel happens before Attack of the Clones, her first mission is to track down Dooku's sister, she is struggling between the dark side and the light instead of calling herself a Sith, and she doesn't learn about Sidious yet. How do these things line up in your edit? I imagine that the edit of that introduction will be considered a "partial canon" or perhaps a "retcon" in your version. Much like the Siege of Mandalore and "Resolve" from Tales of the Jedi "retconed" certain details of the Ashoka Book.
Also, Anakin and Asajj Ventress duel in Yavin IV is likely canon. Mike Chen said that in his mind that was their first encounter, but the duel happened very fast with a heavy rain in the dark. So Anakin wasn't able to see her/didn't see her enough to remember her face.
I liked chancelor Valorant. He should come back.
