I just got one of these, and I really like it. Totally agree with you regarding those two side pockets with the zipper. It’s as though they never tested it! One question: How do you use the trekking pole holder?
I have the 34L and experienced the same side-pocket zipper issue but found a solution. When you have the pack on and snug around you, go ahead and cinch up the lower strap connected to each pocket. This will keep the pockets taut, making it easier to use the zipper. Otherwise, a loose strap can cause the pocket to fold over on itself when tugging on the zipper. Look at it this way -“ if won’t zip then, then fits not legit” 😂 Hope this works for you & others.
Nice review, I ended up getting the 34L over the 24L due to the difference in the admin compartment (also got the 34L at a discount which helped with the decision). The pack compresses really well so the extra space doesn't add a lot of unnecessary bulk when I don't need it. Love to see an update from you later this year on your experiences and if the pack is still meeting your expectations (maybe those hip-belt pockets will somehow fix themselves). :) -Cheers
You know I sometimes still regret not going for the 34L since I'm more of an over-packer. But so far I've made this pack work, it forces me to only pack what I''ll actually need.😬 thanks for watching.
I carry my Nalgene on one side and my HydroFlask 32oz Trail series also fits well, it’s a little hard to pull one out with your pack on your back but it’s doable, I usually just have my wife get it for me 😬

Thanks this is some good advice, I still regret to this day not purchasing the 34L.
Great bag! I have the 34L version for my day pack and love it. I’ll like to see an update and get your perspective on the bag after some good use.
I’ll definitely make note of this and make a future video, it’s my go to pack but I do sometimes regret not getting the 34L version

Thanks for the great review!
Thank you, glad it was helpful.🙂
Great video! Keep the good work up!
Thank you 😊
The side pockets kind of suck. The bottle holders are high too. I can’t reach while walking.
On sale at scheels in sparks right now for 150. They only have black bags left but it’s a good deal.
These are honestly the main things that I disliked about this bag. That’s a good deal on this bag, beats the price that I paid for it 🤦🏻♂️
Did you ever try the water bottle pockets? Which bottle(s) did you find fit best and reachable?

Yeah, I have the same issue with the hip belt pockets on my osprey stratos and osprey escapist packs.
It’s like they almost had it right 🤦🏻♂️, maybe I need to cut back on snacking 😅
