I freaking love V Moda, I bought the crossfades too, still use them for gaming. I wore the hell out of them. Now I have the earbuds for exercising now.
I've been using and buying vmoda for about 8 years and I can assure you the cable is nothing to be concerned about.
Great headphones. 👍
Agreed had my crossfade wireless for 5 years. Perhaps something catched that cable a few times but never in a way that I was scared something would be pulled or break. Only thing I had to do was tightening a couple of screws once. Love the sound of them and I personally does not like anc so I wouldn´t choose this version
Glad you got to check these out bro! I'll be adding these to my wish list.
At >$500, it seems pretty steep for what you get, even for El Jefe - unless it's for his personal use. I remember him saying that he once reviewed the pricey, but excellent Beyerdynamic Lagoon, and it remained largely unwatched (compared to his over reviews).
Got mine this morning, best investment I ever made and the sound quality is fantastic.
Do they offer xl ear cups for them? How do they sound compared to the crossfade 2?
How do you take off the little knob covering the headphone jack?
Been googling every day while mine are in shipment, thanks for the video man. Looks good!!!
I haven’t heard of V-Moda in a VERY long time.
totally a virus they only have 1 comment on this channel. dont search that up
Just a quick question after testing out the first look on the New V-MODA M-200 ANC HEADPHONES are they better then the V-MODA CROSSFADE M-100 HEADPHONES or does the V-MODA CROSSFADE M-100 HEADPHONES sounds better then the V-MODA M-200 ANC HEADPHONES?
So let me get this straight... On top of having ANC, and an app... Which my cross fade wireless twos didn't and cost 250 when I bought them 3 years ago, then made it so that the the ear pads are magnetic and easily removable after changing mine out actually snapped a piece of plastic off... And finally, to throw more salt in the wound they removed the little bit of molding in the small triangular plastic ends at the end of each side of the head band so that they are less likely to break for no apparent reason like mine did, exposing stuff that isn't just supposed to be exposed... Brilliant!
Great video! I’ve been thinking about getting these since I just found out V-Moda will credit you 20% off a new purchase if you trade in your old headphones. (I have a pair of the Crossfade M100)
I absolutely love a flat, close to reference sound that allows you to hear all the intricacies of a song, and also love the fact that you can EQ these to your taste if you so choose.
At this price point though it’s a tough call because for around the same price you can get the AirPods Max and experience the seamless ecosystem of iOS or the XM4s for less.
That said I’ve always loved V-Moda’s build quality and the 20% off might push me in this direction.
Really helpful video!
Nice video...How are these compared to Marshall headphones or Drop pandas?
I've been looking for a new over ear headphones, as always great video and I'm sold
Very nice! Wonder if they're twice as good as the Crossfade wireless 2 codex?
That's what my question is! I have those and I don't know if paying the $500 can be justified? Hard to say, I mean the drivers are smaller too...but they maintain the hi-res specification so who know I guess. Might just buy em and if they aren't just return em
Alright, it's been a while since my first pair of Crossfade LP 1s and I only had one BIG issue with them that keeps me from buying another pair... It's the ear cushion retention system across their lineup. Over time, with occasional cleaning and CONSTANT everyday use, the plastic used to hold the cushion in place began to crack, and eventually started falling off in chunks. I first noticed it as a hairline crack on the right side after a little over a year and a half, and it started doing the same on the left side not too long after. If they refresh the M-100 or Crossfade series designs with the magnetic cushion retention system, *which they absolutely can and should do* , I'll buy another pair without a second thought.
Thanks for making the review of those . Also. Best of luck to everyone as well.
My Crossfades wireless headphones have been worth every penny!
I own the first wireless cans from Vmoda and after 4 years of gym use etc. Solid to this day I just had to replace the ear pads twice.
These look like something from back to the future movies.
So tempting! I wish I've had money for this level of headphones! But yeah, we need more bass!
Thanks Keith!
The mic quality is absolutely amazing
Especially the boom pro mics, every time I'm on a discord call with friends with that mic they tell me how clear I sound
I'm looking for an all around pair of headphones. To mainly use with a digital piano. So ones with a closer to neutral sound signature with great imaging and soundstage. (I do need closed back, and if I'm going with one do it all pair that is more expensive I need bluetooth..) Between the Vmoda, Shures and Apple AirPods Pro Max which do you think fit that use case most? And between the Shures Aonic 50 and Vmoda do you know which are more comfortable for long use?
Just got these but I can't figure out how to take out the little knob covering the headphone jack
They look nice and I'm sure they sound good and build solid because the track record of V-Moda makes it a reliable brand however it costs ca. 500 Euros here in Germany and it's too much for me. I don't think that any bluetooth headphone should cost that much but that's me.
Awesome reviews👍Waiting for a new top wireless earbuds list to choose which to buy
That wire is Kevlar so not really too big of a deal. Thats a tough material
You didn’t mention if you can multipair to 2 devices
Yes, you can
i don’t know why but why they make the wire loose like that, anything just perfect, the sound, the design, can customise but still make the wire like that, can easily get caught in anything or cut/torn...
Not gonna lie, I'm still a fan of V-Moda's design language with their headphones and they have a fit that does feel comfortable for my noggin. That being said, the consistent aesthetic is starting to feel somewhat dated and even with the updates made with the newer models, still feels like I could put any of them next to my now retired Crossfade LP's and you wouldn't be able to tell that there's a near decade generational gap between them.
Also, what happened to the suede headband material they used with the M-100s? I wish they had those as an option for their newer headphones as while the leather band feels nice, it'll eventually start to tear overtime.
Great review thanks. Does V-Moda make true wireless earbuds? I thought I saw a review on those a couple of years ago not from you I can't remember who though.🤔👍
I have the m200 interested in this model with anc but $500. I also like the new logo.
👀 Thanks for the review. Blessings on your day 👍🏻👍🏻
How are they when compared with Crossfade wireless codex edition?
You are one of the few that i can really trust. Although you don't like to bash products (i can tell in your face when you do. Its almost like you are apologizing) im glad you do because we need to know the truth. Please keep uo the great reviews and continue to stay honest.
I think it would be better if it was more harmon tuned (those seem to be best sounding headphones for most these days).
How does the performance compare to m200 wired when it is plugged in ?
Yeah I wouldn't have bought them unless I got half off like I did, luckily I have had my old vmodas for 8 years so they gave me 50% off which was very cash money of them. The durability and customer service alone is great not to mention the sound quality
Do these sound better with a cable ?
Yes! Bluetooth is convenient, however I'd recommend using the wire whenever possible if you want the best sound out of any headphone really. Unless they are LDAC and AptX-HD Bluetooth headphones (iphones don't support that regardless so that is a definite yes), then wiring them up starts to be more of a diminishing return in quality, but even then you know it's still better
Got a pair on pre order 😎 the Apple 🍏 killer 😁
looking at the thumbnail I thought this was a video about an ear protection for firearms
How does the mic perform if you got surrounding noise?
Not sure I want to ditch my m100 for these but sure would be nice with wireless. The size of the cups is no problem for us with baby sized ears^^
Thought the same, made my m 100s feel like garbage in comparison and thats something I never thought I'd say!
The V-Moda Crossfade 2, two codec edition are the best over ear headphones in my collection. Am going to have to get another job to get the new ANC version. Anyone in the market for a kidney?
Would you recommend Crossfade 2, M-200 ANC or Philips SHP9500? I know SHP9500 are open-back, I haven't tried open-backs so that would be my first time, but I've heard Philips' headphones are pretty good.
@@spade6872 Never used open back or Phillips headphones. LMK what you think of them if you go that route.
I had both Crossfades Wireless, sold both. The originals didn't have Aptx and the second generation's buttons were pretty cheap and bad, very hard to do a triple tap to go to the next song. Yep, you have to triple tap the middle button because the volume buttons just work as volume buttons.
I had to order XL Pads for both and still didn't feel as comfy as headphones half or less of the price of these.
The design is cool though and and I agree, these are some of the best-built headphones you can get at any price range. The case is also very nice. Oddly I preferred the big one that came with the original Crossfades, it felt even more solid.
They did have a codex edition that does have aptX. Those are the ones I have
@@bigmarr1999 I had the Codex edition. I only referred to the original Crossfades as not having Aptx.
The bigger case for the Crossfade LP series as well as the 1st gen Crossfade Wireless fits the Crossfade Wireless 2/Codex Editions perfectly fine, which is useful if you get the XL pads since those apparently compress over time if you use the included case.
I honestly stick with the smaller case on mine as my XL pads from years ago are still perfectly fine even after having used them for a long time with my old M-100s.
Try the drop panda. No anc but still great.
Pretty interesting! Nice vid man!!
Thanks
A big issue i have with exposed wires is, if someone doesn't like you and probably jealous of you he can just cut your wire and say it's not him.
Or have your cat chew them up like my old M-100's
Hey there Keith, watching now and very anxious to see what you have to say about these. Always looking to see what’s out there for another pair of audiophile Bluetooth headphones like my Drop+THX Pandas which I love. They are actually a about $50 cheaper than the Pandas in 🇨🇦$$$ . . I like the look and really like the case. How is the soundstage compared to the DROP+THX Panda Headphone? As you know they are my fav headphone by far, just wish they had a touch more kick in the sub bass. They seem like a pretty decent pair of headphones but from your review I’m getting the feeling that they are overpriced by about $100 or maybe even more.
Any who . . As always, thanks for honest, straight forward, tech review and I’m sure and I’ll see you in the next one . . Until then, #StaySafe 😷 & #HappyListening 🎧.

I'm answering from my knowledge of me owning the Crossfades 1 and 2 and me not expecting these to sound that different from the Crossfades (they already reduced bass boost from the original Crossfades to the second ones). The Pandas have way better everything regarding sound. You also get LDAC with the Pandas, these only have Aptx HD, which is good but not as good as LDAC.
I'm saying the Panda's have better sound because of my preferences towards planar magnetic drivers and the sound that these reproduce, keep that in mind. If you want more of a V-Shaped sound (more bass) buy the original Crossfades.
If you don't care about ANC, stick to your Panda's. They offer enough passive noise isolation from my experience and there is nothing better in the wireless headphones market in terms of sound quality, IMO. Unless you want to drop 1k on the Ananda's BT, but then those are open-back.
@@VaultF Thanks for sending me your thoughts on the new V-Moda Headphones, it’s very much appreciated. I won’t be looking any further at these.
I couldn’t agree more about the Drop+THX Pandas & I’m really looking forward to the new Panda App and what it’s going to offer us. One thing we are already being told is the app will be giving us the Worlds first headphone Parametric EQ. ANC is not that important to me especially with how good the PNC is on the Pandas, in many ways it’s better than many headphones that boast about their excellent ANC.
The new Drop+THX Panda app is due to launch within the next week to 10 days.
Once again, thanks for your help.

Hello, Any sound difference when plugged?
Plugging them in will give you an impressive noticable improvement, granted you have lossless music in CD-quality and higher. If not (like you just stream Spotify or something) then you likely won't notice much of a difference.
New subscriber here.. great job all the time,,
Apple has me spoiled on headphones that work with a family of devices. I miss the simple days where I didn’t know what an ecosystem was ☹️
That's why I ended up ditching Apple, I felt comfy with a family of products that worked together but also felt trapped, because anything not Apple has just too many stupid compromises that I otherwise wouldn't have otherwise. I.e. not being able to save my .flac music files to itunes...wtf apple
$500 for a pair that has a wire hanging with no cover ... the lose wire is to much for the price Thx-panda so far nothing beats it.
Agree.
Yeah, I tried many wireless headphones and the Panda's are the best so far. Its closed-back planar magnetic wireless headphones proposition cannot be beaten presently. One could go for the Ananda's BT for even better sound quality, but those are more than double the price, open back, and would require a DAC/AMP with HWA capabilities to be able to reach their full potential. So yeah.
Dittoooh. LOVE my 🐼🐼’s.
Best of the best. 👍
Thr price is outrageous. That’s Apple air pod max money
Probably because 100 goes to ANC, and 100 goes to sound quality
I mean I feel like both those headphone are in entirely different leagues though. The vmodas work with any device, have an actual carry case, and can use an analog connection. Makes Apple look a lot more greedy tbh
Gymcaddy gave negative review of the sound quality of this headphones...
You are speaking positive....
And I'm confused 🥴
That's the thing about audio, it's all subjective and people hear things differently and have different taste. I love them
@@OfficialGamesky but gymcaddy has a opinion that this are crappy....if he could have said it's flat so I don't like it it was understandable!
@@Mee399 well I feel completely different
@@OfficialGamesky yeah and I agree with you because you seem like an audiophile ☺️
Edifier x5
Wow, what a departure. V-Moda is NOT known for being balanced - by design. That was my only gripe with my original Crossfades. Val tuned the sound based on prominent club DJs' recommendations, so music that's intended for balanced reproduction (e.g., rock) sounds terrible, but bass-heavy music like EDM sounds amazing. I always loved the build/looks of both the cans and the case, though.
V-moda has bought by Roland
None of these headphones can compete with the sony xm4 simply because of the huge price difference.
And the Bose QC II's. Never put a more comfortable set of cans on my head than the Bose headphones
The microphone sounds awful. It’s like having your phone on speaker and you are talking from across the room.
Dude it’s AirPods max not pro max lmao
I can tell he was paid to say good things about them or felt the need because they sent him free headphones. These are terrible for $500
Do you own them?
@@theodorehowell8869 Yes yes I do
@@jcap8391 whats so terrible?
@@theodorehowell8869 They are heavy af and are uncomfortable
@@theodorehowell8869 They sound good but what use is that when I can't stand putting them on. I have three different brand headsets with different clamping forces. Maybe it's just my ugly head who knows
the qualitiy of vmoda headphones is really trash, they only have to fall down once and break into peaces. its a scam
Too expensive for me
I still don't know why people pay more for ANC🤦. Just turn up the volume.
It protects your ears from loud music
