Congrats on completing the marathon!
I got the McCampbell mission done yesterday, without even trying, while grinding credits on tier 8 .. with the Hoe 228. I wasn't even trying as the environment in the EU during the weekend is pretty bad for this medal. But then stars aligned and I got Clarke. Then went to training her up to 7 skill points.. while working on specializing my P-61.. which I had 3 battles so far since I got it in the event, because I wanted to let the other players excitement on it wear down a bit. But yeah that plane is powerful.
Hey Postal! I just came back to the game after a 2-year or break, and I was glad to find your channel. These videos are really useful. I also checked almost all of your videos about the XP-58, and I finally decided to buy this plane to farm credits. This beast is so fun to fly. I am not very good at dogfighing, but this plane more of an opportunistic predator. If someone makes a silly mistake this plane can punish it hard. As I understood the concept of this plane is that you have to keep your speed up, and your altitude up. My pilot has "only" 8 skill points, and the gunne like 2, but still I enjoy this plane, and it prints credits like hell.
Glad to hear you're enjoying it! Yeah, turning is not this planes forte. I do love the damage output though!
@@PostalMonkey you said that you went try hard mode and you put on the concealment paint. I am not quite sure how concealment works in this game, but does this 20% extra concealment make a huge difference, or advantage?
It does have an impact, there is a debate on whether or not it's a big enough impact. I posted a video on a 'Stealth Build' XF-90 and that might help with the thought process

stay far from red swarms trai to catch singel idiots or focus you to kill bombers and heawys again and again,no panic or stress at start dont go to midde like other idiots .after 1 min all get destroyed. you main task as heawy is simpel find singel victims !small good turning fighters are risky for you if is human players ! operate in high altidute ! agains bombers install first aid ! if you cancel again and again enemy bombers you break the backbone of red team victory is faster for you team .but.. if you dont have idiots in you own team 😂keep in mind enemy bombers loves factorys and rocket bases !mb
Compared to the shooting down of 8 fighters the McCampbell was easy-peasy. I got it on the first try with my P-61.

Salute on a tough grind. The new pilot Elise was worth it. Run do not walk to your intensive training tokens! Added aerodynamics expert and marksman 1 for starts. A boost to most American Premiums. Found her rather effective in the XF-15-C. A subsonic brick to fly is now more fun and capable.
Elise Clark doesn't save the P-51D from it's many weaknesses, it's still a mediocre American fighter plane in this game. The P-51H or even the P-51K Chinese variant at the next tier up is much better. I haven't tried her in other American fighters though.
Can understand that view. My usual pilot had aerobatic skill with marksman 2 so didn't feel the 50 cals underforming. Also don't shoot at maximum range when I first engage. Closer in more bullets hit. With that said P-51 isn't the greatest but a good flyer.
Beware of power creeping yourself. Noticed it because of flying so many specialized aircraft that when flying stock, feels weak in speed, firepower and so on. Much harder to grind now with more flyers in specialist planes.
I prefer the fire fighting maneuver skill over resistance because it can be activated all game
I tend to use that on my fighters and MRFs and not my heavies. My thoughts is I shouldn't me 'actively maneuvering' in a heavy. You still find it effective?
@@PostalMonkey I do In a heavy you can climb and put out the fire while escaping your pursuer
Congrats. I'm on the 8 fighter kill mission (14 tries so far, best I've gotten so far is 5). I'm not too worried about the McCampbell - those are relatively easy to pick up.
Ironically, I got the Flying Exterminator Badge in only 3 tries with my IL-20 (specailzed witha 64s reload on bombs and rockets). I expected that one to take longer.
I may have to cert the 8 enemy fighters....
Try to flight up if possible
@@PostalMonkey I was flighted for 11 of those tries...sometimes the battle ends too quickly (like when its my flight and 2 others on blue and all bots on red). Other times i just struggle with the kills, even when I spawn camp while my flightmate holds down the fort.
Also, I don't have many high-tier fighters nor the XP-55 or Vampire....
And maybe i just suck at this particular aspect of the game LOL
I'll keep trying for a bit before I mail it in and cert it.

@@PostalMonkey Welp..given enough time, even a blind squirrel will find a few nuts. Got it tonight flighted up with a clanmate, took out my P-61 for the first time ever, got 10 enemy fighter kills in our third battle (3 humans vs bots on red). Then casually picked up a McCampbell in the next one.
And now I have Elise - and have finally, after 3+ years of playing, completed one of these marathons with multiple missions without using certs for any of the missions.
