I have the iPhone 16 plus and I’m happy with it I don’t have a problem with 60hrz refresh rate. I gave my 14 plus to my mother because she was using the iPhone 11.
For me 60hz isn’t unusable, but when I go to 120hz I definitely notice the difference. For most people (casual) the refresh rate shouldn’t matter all that much.

@@deon.zoldyck I already broke the volume buttons and the front glass. Plus the battery health was already 86 percent and it kept overheating. It was worth it for me because the 16 pro max never overheated for me and gets much better battery life. If my 15 pm was not broken I would’ve kept it. I’m going to use an otterbox on the 16 now and keep it until the 19 pro max.
It kind of makes sense since it is limiting the hardware refresh rate by software... The Pro Max states a big boost in battery life against the Plus, but is that only when limiting the screen refresh rate to 60Hz on the Pro Max or even at 120Hz?

If they have options between 120 and 60 on the device, that would be fine…. If you want more battery life you can switch …. There saying 120 on all phones next year so they have to ditch the iPhone Plus so it’s not even closer to iPhone Pro Max . Grab the plus model before it disappears and hold on to it till something similar is in line and not have to pay $1200 … I always buy the plus model if available when upgrading, going from 11 pro max to 16 plus this year. Absolutely loved the 11 pro max rounded black and chrome edges with the green color , hard to let it go battery life has always been fantastic.
I don't notice much difference between 120hz and 60hz, my computer monitor is 75hz, my iPad is 60hz, idk, 120hz is cool for making the phone addictive, but it is a waste of battery in my opinion, at least with my usecases anyway.
You don't notice a difference in smoothness because the pro doesn't ever run at 120hz. It's a scam. I have a 14 pro but I'm probably switching back to Android next year.
How does PWM differ between the two. Had to get a 14 Pro Max in 2022 as PWM on the Pro was less extreme than the non Pro. Is this still the case as I like the Plus model more than the Pro this time.

The plus models battery health is way better , my girlfriends 16 pro max after 8 months of use has 90% battery health my 14 plus two years of use + I use the phone average 2 hours more a day than her my battery health is 91%. I think the 120hz is a battery health killer no other explanation??

tests show the 16 pro max just sits at 80hz and rarely exceeds this for any of the apple apps.

The difference is almost zero, if it weren't for the 120hz screen I would say that the plus would be a better option, but the pro has that advantage.
That's right, I have a Vionentus screen protector on my screen to make sure it doesn't get scratched and lasts longer.

The base 16 will have a better camera and battery, 120 vs 60 might bother you but your eyes do adjust relatively quickly.
