We lived in San Miguel de Allende for a while. Had the nicest little house. I think it was an older style than your mom's place. The tile on the kitchen walls and halfway up the rest of the walls in the house were those gorgeous floral hand painted tiles. They kept the grubby fingermarks of mine and my brothers from messing up the walls. The house had a nice yard surrounded all around the house with a cement wall with broken glass set into the top of it to keep out intruders. As a jid playing in the yard i found a lot of cow skulls in the grass. Milk was delivered every day by a man with a donkey loaded with milk cans. If you wanted milk you took out your pitcher to get some from this man. Then my mom would boil it so it would be dafe to drink. She worried about stuff like that. San Miguel was a beautiful place. It cost a bit more than other parts of mexico because there is a large population of americans living there, and of course mexicans think wr are all wealthy. We moved from there and lived in various places before living in Mexico City. I really miss it. Bakeries almost every couple of blocks. Markets you could get really fresh food at. There is so much to see in Mexico City

I have been thinking of leaving Loveland Colorado and retiring to San Miguel de Allende since I wish to finally retire from nursing after 40 yrs, ugh. I totally loved your Mom’s apartment. I wondered how much an apartment like that costs in San Miguel. I would appreciate it if you could share that with me , so I could figure out if I could afford something similiar. Lol I’m quarter mexican. My mom only just moved to Mexico and she doesn’t speak Spanish or anything so it wasn’t a huge part of my life growing up.
