Weidman eye-poked him at least 4 times, & had hisfingers in his face the whole fight. Then Weidman celebrated himself after seeing what happened. Disgusting. No longer a fan.
Not a fan of Jon Jones I guess .
Weidman was using his fingers more than my ex girlfriends blocking me on Social Media, phone, email, etc...
Bahaha. That hit different. Settle down, Francis. Dude able to walk is a W. Let him celebrate his never before seen, double eye jab.
He celebrated after silva broke his leg too, then the same thing happened to him. Karma will punish him again.
@timeless74 no. Jones is a scumbag. What does this have to do with him though?
Lost all respect for Weidman. He'd be the first one complaining if that happened to him. That whole card was ugly to watch.
They where both poking each other in they eye. Why are so many upset with just Wiedman
@@heckalydalii200 wtf are you taking about? That simultaneous eye poke was a legit punch throw it by Silva... Weidman has his hand wide open...
@@mr.n5127 I clearly said they where both poking each other in the eye. That's wtf I'm talking bout
That man was incredibly desperate for a win. Not only for his career but for his mental health. He's beyond delusional that he still thinks he's got what it takes to make a run. The man could lose 15 straight and be like "I was just one punch away to beating the guy that beat the guy that trains with the guy that beat the champ. I still got it."
Silva literally did the same foul
Disgusting that Weidman plays it off
He basically told Silva it was his fault for going down and covering up. I thought he was going to say he couldn't accept the win, admitting what happened wasn't fair.
Thats how desperate that man was for a win. He's one of the most delusional fighters i've ever seen in my life. The man will never come to terms with the fact that he'll never be a champion again. @@megacatsupreme466

What bad person he is. Inside he knows the truth.
@@Bigtaz777 eye pokes are against the rules dunce
Chris celebrating that is bewildering.
it's a really bad look for him and Jebus
Why? He won the fight silva was unable to defend himself and he gave up. Silva wanted a way out and got it.
He celebrated like this when anderson broke his leg on him too.
@@yourewrongabouteverythingYou're the type of person who approves cheating so as long as they or you don't get caught. I can dig it...
He didn't do sh*t besides eye poking the entire fight. Cheater.
Gotta be the worst decision in a long time, Weidman's W is a major L for his legacy
And combo with his loss streak I think he just buried his career
It actually does stuff all to his legacy because honestly nobody will care in 2 weeks lol just the way it is!!! And when people go back on records they just see win draw or loss, it doesn't explain how the fight went!
Absolute joke he got the W tho!!!
Chris never really had a great legacy.
He will be alright Jon Jones eye poked all his opponents. And people think of jon jones of the goat of mma.
Might as well complete the combo with a kick to the plums if you're gonna do the guy like that.
Exactly
A Weidman version of the 3-piece.
Let’s call it a night of WWE/ UFC.
Jon jones to Weidman “You’re taking everything I worked for!”
You mean "everything eye worked for"

Buckley is like Micheal Johnson, can beat anyone or be beaten by anybody at any given day.
Lol he can't beat anyone.
This is the only ufc fight i have ever watched that to me both fighters looked to be on a more amateur level then the tony ferg vs nate diaz fight. Buckley had some of the worst striking i have ever seen inside the cage and luque seems like his brain has finally given out since the injuries he sustained after fighting geoff neal. Ufc need to be careful with guys like this and make sure they aren’t allowed to keep fighting and further damaging their brains beyond function
@@jacobdouglas99I'll tell you this much...Seeing how tentatively Luque fought Buckley made me see that if he would've fought Ian Garry he'd have gotten his ass kicked. This wasn't the same Vicente who soundly defeated Mike Perry years ago. Either this is a defective clone or Luque being a shadow of his former self.
@@jacobdouglas99huh? Are you serious? Mike Jackson vs CM punk? And the worst striking was definitely Ben Askren, CM punk, Ronda... And if we go way back you'll find even worse.
@@wilykat the dude had a brain hemorrhage from the ko loss against geoff neal and clearly still has brain damage from the injury. No one should be fighting after injuries like this. People like luque and tony ferg are one good concussion away from being vegetables

Eyedman 😂😂😂😂😂😂
😂
There is no no contest or dq if it’s in the third round for an eye poke if unintentional
For me the way Weidman cheered after his so called "Victory" said enough.
Yep, he did the same thing when silvas leg broke too
The whole card had a ton of bad reffing and early stoppages...
They are practicing for the Abu Dhabi card.
Yeah, that's why I quit watching.
Glad I watched boxing. Fundora vs Tim was a bloody brawl
They are going for quantity not quality anymore. Its been like this past few years in my opinion. Ive been watching since ufc 5 so im always gonna watch and be a fan. This is purely just my opinion
@@jerrywhite8915I hear you man.
This isn't even the first tried to cheat to get a win. Remember years ago he had a fight with gregard where he tried to fake like he was hit by an illegal knee and then tried to milk it like crazy. When the referee said it wasn't illegal all of a sudden weidman acted like he miraculously was fine only for the referee to make it a finish instead of a dq. A lot of fighters in that gym try to cheat wins.
Should be overturned as a DQ for Weidman. He was warned prior to the double eye poke. In fact, the horrific ref was warning him to close his hands mere nano seconds before the double eye poke...disgraceful
The way Weidman cheered…. What a fucking shell of a fighter.
Chris needed a win so bad he was willing to get it any way he could. Lol
He definitely had some dodgy moment bsides the eye pokes, I was thinking while watch the fight he is dirtier than i have ever seen.
Weidman surprisingly hung in there but yeah the eye poke at end was horrible
They where both exchanging eye pokes. Why is everyone just upset with weidman
This should be at the top of the comments. If your desperate to eyepoke win, you need to be gone. No matter who you are. UFC will give eyedman a way tougher fight next to make him retire.
@@user-po3ey4zl2o it’s definitely possible.
4 eyepokes, no points deducted, gets the decision, what a joke.
Getting the decission is the most weird thing.
So the judges react to the eyepoke, but in a way, that takes away the fairness, which is essential to be a sport.
UFC just came a huge step closer to becoming something like WWE
A DQ would be the ONLY acceptable decision.
That was a 2 eye poke combination, tbat sent him down.
Weidman definitely knew it and continued even though he knew he was winning by rounds. That's intentional
@@bandana3570
It's not weird if you were not ignorant. The judges score the fight to the point of the stoppage. This has been common practice since the unified rules were adopted.
3* eye pokes and they exchanged pokes on the 3rd. Even with a point deduction in the 3rd infracton which is the standard, Weidman would have still won 29-28.
@@joebenson528 the fight was stopped after the eye poke.
The double eye poke combination definitely affected the way the fight continued.
Directly after that Weidman hammered Silva on the ground and got the stoppage.
Silva was (at least for the moment) not able to continue.
With this decision Weidman got awarded for his multiple eye pokes.
That's UFC moving a huge step away from beeing a sport.
With this kind of decisions it gets more like the WWE.
For example Peter Yan lost his title after ONE foul.
Aljo even got a DQ win and the title.
Weidman got the victory after 3 recognized fouls !!
Not even the ref allowed him to fight with the fingers spread wide open.
He even got away with 3 documented eye pokes.
Silva was not given the oportunity to continue. The eye poke brought him into a situation, where the fight ended.
Of course you protect your head after being poked in BOTH eyes.
Also the 2nd eye poke, where the ref said "both poked each other":
Silva had his fist closed, and hit Weidman with the thumb as part of the closed fist.
Weidman had his fingers spread wide.
And the finges stayed spread wide the entire fight.
I've seen other fighters getting warnings for that even without the 2nd eye poke.
In other words they ALLOWED Weidman to fight that way, scratching with open hands on Silva's face. And if an eye poke happens, so be it.
They took away Silvas weapon to go in and trade. Because there is always an option to get eye poked.
It's a shame for the UFC.
And also it's a shame for Weidman celebrating like he did something great. The UFC bend the rules as much as possible to get the legend Weidman back on the winning
@joebenson528 right from the start of the fight Weidman was fishing for eye pokes with his fingers out, it's the refs job to warm the fighters before a poke happens, the ref didn't do anything. You must be from new York or something, cause the entire community agrees with me, get off his nuts kids 😄

double eyepoke??? Not triple ???
Four
Two for five! 😂
Two single eye pokes in round 2, followed by a double eye poke finish in round 3.
You guys are acting shocked Chris celebrated after the win. You guys must not remember when he celebrated after Silva broke his leg, not far from what a piece of trash would do
He knee'd silvas shin. He had a reason to celebrate, he broke silva's leg, Silva didnt break silva's leg. He recognized the hard kicks and checked it with his knee. He explains this.

Second eye poke has to be a point deduction and third instant dq. Only way to stop this shit from happening. People will look to poke when they are hurt and need to recover. Terrible for the sport
First eye poke should be a point. Second is a DQ. Otherwise you’re letting fighters get one free poke per fight. Essentially giving every other a free illegal move.
@@kimborampage I think you should get one illegal shot before a point deduction. Could be a low blow or a poke. 2nd illegal blow point

First time i ever saw an Eye Poke, Eye poke, Back of the head strike Combo. Chris must have been training with Jon Jones for this fight.
I'll be honest, I did the same thing Palo did 🤣🤣
They need to take that win away from weidman that shit was terrible. 4 eye pokes then to celebrate a victory like you just knocked that man out was crazy. Change them damn gloves you even have gathje coming out talking about there needs to be a change in gloves cause it’s the truth. Weidman had his fingers in that man’s face all fight, must of learned from Jon jones.
the two pokes they show.... he wasn't even punching, he was swiping at his eyes intentionally. Whole flails their fingers at somebodies face like that unless they want to go for the eyes. Nobody should accept a fight against him ever again. Just disgusting
Chris is a disgrace to MMA and humanity. This shows the Anderson leg break celebration was legit to
Weidman was like "Bro here's a tip, when I double poke you in the eyes you don't just fall down you gotta stay up.. rookie mistake"
Horrible refs during this event.. stopping fights early, missing fouls, not calling fouls, etc
Never been a huge weidman fan or anything but the way he acted after I wouldn't be upset if his leg snapped in half again.
Weidman not getting warnings for sticking his fingers out throughout the match is a shame.
Warnings? He should've had a point deduction after the ref told him 3 times in a row "Chris watch your fingers" and he did it anyway seconds later.
Makes me wonder if the ref is secretly betting on the fights. To not give any warnings and completely ignore the obvious double foul at the end. Very sus.
Paulo keeping it real 😂
Luque isn't the same after the brain bleed. Buckley still mid
Buckley ranked, so he isn't mid, or that'll mean ufc is weak. Can't have it both ways
I mean I thought Luques last fight was good just maybe an off night?
Luque isn't the same physically, but technically he's the same as always, he has always been average at best. And Buckley is bad matchup for him, Buckley would beat him at any point of his career; cause of his combos going forward, powerful hands, angles to the left side of Luque where he can't land his overhand and his lowkick, very goood defensive grappling, and also southpaw so Luque can't use one of his biggest weapons which is the calfkick to the outside in the left leg of his opponents
Striking with fingers outstetched isn't a mistake. Way, way worse than a lovebite WTF.
The bite is significantly worse
@@hybrid.catastrophic.impact6071 Not at all, an eye poke could perminatly damage an eye, the other is a flesh wound. Also in terms of intent both are done on purpose.
There is no justification for striking with outstetched fingers in MMA. In a really real world fight sure, a palm hammer does a lot of damage and protects your fingers, even then it'd be almost impossible to accidently eye poke.
@@levijosephcreates lmao eye pokes do happen accidently, stop with the salt

IN Rugby if you contact a person's head while tackling.. it's a yellow card, even if he dropped down while you are running in and a red card with a three-game ban if the ref deems it on purpose, because YOU are responsible for your body!
Chris did the Jon bones classic of sticking your fingers out so your opponent gets eye poked when they walk forward, it should be illegal to stick your fingers towards your opponents face.
Come on Weidman... That after fight celebration was sad an embarrassing. Acting like he just won the title in dominant fashion. That's how you know Chris was trippen. If he lost this fight, that was most likely it for him. In the ufc at least. He seemed pretty surprised he won.

Chris is one of the most dirtiest fighters of all time! He literally double eye poked him which lead to the finish. When Anderson broke his leg Chris was running around the ring with his hands up celebrating whereas Uriah was kneeling down praying for Chris. Chris is a complete POS!

Never fight there again if you a ufc fighter. That commission is taking pay checks from the wrong people
Gaethje blaming the gloves is BS. Its very simple if a fighter goes forward with a open hand you give him a warning even if it doesn’t poke the opponents eye. The seconds time he does this point deduction. If there’s a eye poke that stops the fight its a no contest and a 40% money loss from the guilty fighter to the victim fighter. Within a year you wil never have eye pokes again and if they happen you know its a accident. Its not that difficult striking with you hands closed.
His coach came up with a glove that solves eye pokes and ufc refuses to even try them out that’s why
jim fucking Miller said it best in a recent video after the bite bonus 👌

The gloves are an issue, if you’ve ever put them on they do extend the hand and fingers a little more than you’d want, even more than training gloves. It happens all the time accidentally in fights more than training.

Dana, CHANGE THE F**N gloves, it’s happening too often, come on man. Take the time and go through the process of changing the gloves. It’s not an easy job, but it’s your job. You have the time. You have your team to make the fights, they all know the deal, you can just meet with them and approve what they suggest. That’s probably how you’re doing now anyways, for the most part.
We’re sick of these eye pokes, and it’s ruining the fights. Two fights were ruined just this past weekend, you saw it yourself. F…. Sakes!
Hi @funkmaster0007, it's Dana White here. We gonna take your advice and change the gloves ! So glad I got finally a UA-cam account to get advice from people on internet. Thank you !
It’s not the gloves. Weidman was clearly doing g it on purpose. Plenty of fighters never poke anyone.
It's not the gloves. It's the fighters. You don't punch someone with your fingers out. You punch someone with a closed fist.
First of all, I do realize that most of the fighters who have eye poked other fighters, do not do it purposely. a lot of fighters have a technique where when their arm first starts to extend fingers are out and they close to make a fist at the last split second. If the other fighter moves his head closer quickly and the fingers are still extended, the fingers are still extended, and the eye could happen accidentally.
The replacement gloves, that Joe Rogan and others have talked about in the past, look identical to the gloves they use now. The differences that the new gloves require more force for the fingers to extend forward, minimizing the fingers being extended and lowering the accidental eye poke happening.
I agree. This event was disgusting. Two wins due to eye poke in one event. The weed man eye poke was a combination of eye pokes.
Don’t let nobody inexperienced refs do main events. Why wasn’t Keith Peterson doing it? That’s nonsense.
