Fighter asks permission to jump the cage, fighter is granted permission by the CEO, fighter gets fined.
The fine is not issued by the UFC themselves. It is issued by the athletic commission. Which, being Nevada's, they should know better already that cage jumps will happen in celebrations. Let's just expect Dana to keep his word and pay Lopes the amount of the fine as he said he would

O'malley was basically still an amatuer in 2018. He didn't start getting good till the 2 years off 2018-2020. By 2018 Pantoja already had more professional bouts than O'malley CURRENTLY has. lol..

Pantoja is lying. I was at the lab when they sparred. It was like 2017 or 2018. So if you're out of camp, you sign up for sparring, and Sean did. Henry said he wanted to Pantoja sparring a taller guy and asked O'malley, who was out of camp. Right out the gate, Sean dropped him bad to where he couldn't finish the round. Then he was all mad, and he and Cejudo said come on 2 more rounds. Sean pieced up Pantoja from the outside.
Seems Erceg may beat Pantoja. Usually you dont want to give a hungry up and comer who is fresh a fight against someone who dogged their way to the top and went through wars like Pantoja has.
Not saying Pantoja loses. Just saying this is one of those times.
Easy solution to altering undesirable behavior followed the immediate conclusion of a fight: operant conditioning. Granted, behavioral-oriented fines are a form of operant conditioning, negative reinforcement to be specific. This is a psych 101 level of understanding behavioral modification.
If someone jumps the fence, take 100% of the purse. Knowing that MMA practitioners in the UFC have a lot of financial overhead. Would any of the fighters' trainers, managers, etc. be okay with not being paid? I'm guessing, not. They'd probably drop the fighter and/or have talk to them regarding behavior that is not acceptable.
Even better, take the entire purse and have a clause in every fighters contract that states, If either fighter jumps over the fence before, during or after the decision has been announced then they lose the entire purse and their contract can be renegotiated.
Look, what I'm suggesting is far beyond what should happen. Conversely, the fines in place now are not stopping the problem entirely. Let's negotiate and find a number that will be enough of a deterrent to discourage them from jumping the fence
