You are totally right about staff especialy Agency staff this is why I have now semi retired, I dont mean to pick on agency staff but 98% are on an agency for a reason.
All my staff had been with me for up to 45 years, this type of experience is irreplaceable and you soon learn that when you start interviewing their replacements. That’s why I got out too.
I rescued a rotwiller puppy on Saturday 5 months old he had no name hasn't had any of his jabs and very under fed he's tiny compared to what he should be that's been my weekend getting him sorted
These days Micheal MOST youngsters don't want too work and don't give a shit if they don't tell you either so wrong with bells on and the world today is a sorry state of affairs NO ONE CARES fella
I was driving an 08 plate Massey which my boss bought brand new along with another Massey. Work this out. I was pulled for driving the tractor which wasn't on a registered number plate with DVLA. Once all that was sorted. The tractor became registered on a 58 reg. But purchased and working before September 2008. 🤔🤔🤔
Having done my fair share power washing plant machinery off as an apprentice fitter, for good few years it can seem like meaningless task but it’s very important like I use tell people who came after me starting at bottom run it can help with your attention to detail spotting damage or repairs needed on hire stuff and there’s one way up from there if do good job, but it seems these days people don’t see potential to move up within company or take pride in an even such what seems thankless task, I’ve even heard companies having to pay a daily attendance allowance on top of wages for doing job, amazing 😂 that parade video of Ollie Gunn’s was brilliant done ,
Just the normal working on my car getting mechanical work done so when the weather gets better i will be rust treatment underneath my 20 year old ford focus so i won't have to get the welder out for years its very true the younger generation don't want to do a hard day's work i had to from the age of 14 my grandparents raised me that way you want some thing then work for it and I've been in the welding and fabrication trade for 25 years but my knees are shot with arthritis so don't work full time now and only 45 years old ☹️
You get great satisfaction out of cleaning stuff. I know through experience that cleaning a tractor, telehandler or implement can take a great deal of time but the end result can be better that brand new. I worked 7 days a week on a beef farm and my tractor was filthy through the routine schedule i had. I was feeding out through 5 farms. 2 farms and a 3 farm setup 20 mins apart drive. Plus hauling feed from two locations to base. 6am start and working til the job was done
Good old Hampshire police, after driving a Class 860 forager on the road for 15min they tried to charge me with obstuction for not pulling over enough, had this twice 🙄🙄
Your right what's is the matter with people at very least phone in then boss can organise something 😮 When i was 14 I used to go around farms washing tractors/machine's for a £5 now I'm older I offered my neighbours child 20 quid To wash my tractor and he just laughed and walked away lazy. Bastard
Who pays for the tractor to move the other trailer 😂😂😂you arnt serious. You have got them to admit they were wrong that’s as good as it gets i am afraid. Just the same if one of the lights your electrician fits fails in a month. Wholesaler replaces the fitting but the electrician takes the hit on his time to replace it. Trades get do fed up of replacing faulty equipment with nobody paying for their time and travel
Hi Michael that's a pain assuming the lad found something better to do haven't watched Ollie's Jcb video yet bean busy Hopefully This week Improves Thanks again
I trust all is well with you. I’m a UA-cam thumbnail designer who enjoys creating thumbnails that not only look great but also reflect your brand. I can create a sample for you to review first. If you’re satisfied with it, we can start discussing future work. I look forward to your response!
People can have bad luck with staff Michael but if you want reliable employees it's worth investing in your own recruitment programme rather than going through an agency. Are you capturing people that have a genuine interest in farm/plant machinery as the core of your business? That might be a good starting point and then like any managers job it's to create an environment in which people want to excel and then give them the tools, training and freedom to do so. You may have a point about the standards of a generation but what are you doing to raise those standards above and beyond just passing someone a pressure washer lance and paying them an hourly rate?
If they don't call in sack them
Just get one bought Michael , we only live once 👍
Evening Michael, family and team

I know. The world is in self destruct
Obviously not enough in it for him or he’d be there or he’s not bothered
This weekend consisted of dog walking, watching rugby and getting peace from the wife who has abandoned me for the sunnier climes of the Canaries.

How do you rate the jcb 4cx compared to the 3Cx
Don’t particularly see the benefit of it
Get a 3cx!!
I used to powerwash walls and they were worse on my back than machinery I'm waiting for MRI scan as I'm buggered

Amazing. Maybe I should offer £100 a day bonus plus wages. To get a keen person It’s the lack of manners I find hard to deal with
Would you add fendt tractors to your hire fleet
Yes. No problem
Job share power washing, bet its a lonely job,so,get them to encourage each other to work as a team
Sounds easy.
Maybe I should simple pay £100 a day bonus for turning up on time and working all day maybe that would work
@@GCSMachineryI’m all for those bonus’s 😅
