Let me make this VERY clear. I NEVER said Alana and her bf’s relationship was okay. I said it was not a HUGE age gap, never said it was a legal and appropriate age gap. Secondly, when referencing his past relationship, he JUST turned 18 when he was caught with that young lady. They could’ve BEEN dealing with each other hence why I mentioned the mother could have POTENTIALLY not been a fan of him and found this to be the perfect excuse to get him arrested and break this couple up. Let’s not act like we haven’t seen this story time and time again in history. Also, answer me this…when one parter in a high school relationship turns 18, they’re supposed to automatically breakup? Y’all be fr and stop trying to make everything a problem. I mentioned a wide variety of different assault and predatory cases that have affected this family’s life and openly DENOUNCED them, yet y’all choose to cry and moan over a high school relationship? Please let’s not. Stop making things a problem when they are NOT. Do your research before you try me. I’m very nice, but let’s be clear, I’m not afraid to check someone. One thing y’all will NOT do is question or denounce my character. Hindsight is 20/20 and I will forever look at the complete picture before breaking someone down and judging their character. Once again, I NEVER said his relationship with Alana was okay. It is indeed ILLEGAL to date someone 16 when you are 20. Simple. Case closed. School dismissed.
It’s fine when they started dating while they are both minors and one turns 18, but the other minor can’t be 12 or even 13 that is a huge age gap, even tho they are still both technically minors.
And regarding these two, I believe they had a huge age gap. He was almost of drinking age (in the us) and she was 16. He def was a predator, and in the law’s eyes their thing should not be considered a relationship. And I believe she was going thru a lot of emotional trauma and stress (due to her unstable mother). That guy must have taken advantage of that. I’m just spitballing anyway, I don’t know shit.
And to add, mentally he may be the same age as her🤷🏾♀️

As someone with people that much older me when i was 15-16, i think your take is a little concerning. People who wanna be with anyone 3+ years younger than them while in school is odd even if you’re both enrolled. From year to year at that age you’re DRASTICALLY changing and I’d rather keel over dead than date anyone at the maturity i was at 16 while 20. Hes a man with his behavior lined out for you with POLICE REPORTS and you’re asking if this man got exaggerated on for how he looks rather than the glaringly obvious fact that he was breaking the law with a minor??? You don’t wanna get arrested? Reconsider your relationship with the person still under the legal age and STOP ENGAGING SEXUALLY. The exploitative nature of the network has always baffled me! Like this so called “The Learning channel” is the epitome of the worst channel to tune into. And it’s so called entertainment to educate others.. why would I learn from mean obese women, children marriages, rebellious Amish teenagers, unfortunate bizarre addictions. This is the ridiculous exposing of humans that genuinely need help but instead are exploiting them making it almost a subtle way of saying act tf out and making humans look awful equal more screen time. It was said on another video that June was abused by older men when she was in her early teens, which resulted in her giving birth to Anna when she was 14 I think. And I think because of the issues she had growing up, June was an easy target for predators and she continued that cycle with Anna, picking terrible men and putting them over her girls. There’s a moment on ‘Mama June: From Not to Hot’ where June calls out Sugar Bear regarding his treatment of Alana and he snapped. He tried to get into Pumpkin’s face and was only stopped due to security, but it was scary because it seemed that he only lashed out at her specifically out of the four girls. June picks the men that she believes she deserves, Geno was probably the better one before they got addicted to drugs but the others not so much

Actually, he is one. Boo boo wasn’t his first victim. A few years ago, he was seeing a 15 year old at 18. He snuck into her home. Not to mention he’s also gotten into some trouble with the law. This man is dangerous. Shame on pumpkin for letting this man be around Alana.

Depends on the State, Colorado has the Romeo & Juliet law and 16 and 20 is fine. I have a cousin who was 20 and she was 14. They have had 3 kids all grown up now and they are still together. *shrug* I have mixed feelings about it...but it does show sometimes the relationships worked. If they both want to be together they will be together whether the parent approves or not. Heck in High School my Girlfriend was 16 and I turned 19 Senior year. I was held back once and being born in January didn't help starting school late. *shrug* No one every even gave age a thought. I had a gal lie about her age, even met the mother and her mother dropped her off at my dorm...LOL

It doesn't matter that you are both in school, you two are very different maturity wise and that will always be a factor in your relationship. In my high school everyone understood this, you were considered very weird if you were 18 and trying to date a freshman. No 20yr old has any business dating anyone under 18, period.

You must not be familiar with their tiktok pages. The personalities they portray on the show are different than in real life. Even down to the way they talk. Alana, for example, has a blaccent, but doesn't use it on TV.

16 and 20 is most definitely a huge age gap. They are not mentally in the same place. She was a child who’s biggest concern other than her family drama was her AP Global History homework while he was a legal ADULT with actual adult responsibilities. It’s wrong and gross. Even when he was 18 with that 15 year old, that is disgusting. I graduated high school not too long ago and when you are actually in the headspace of an 18 year old, you realize how gross and weird it is to be into a freshman/sophomore. Despite ppl’s opinions on this generation’s high schoolers, they really do look super young and are very immature and as a high school senior or graduate, the patience you have for it wears thin unless you’re immature yourself. It’s unsettling even thinking about being grown and in a relationship with one of them. But this is probably thought to be normal for her family bc of her mother constantly surrounding her daughters with sexual predators. They probably think it’s normal

I think that 16 and 20 is an inappropriate age gap, but as for legality, some states have what are called "Romeo and Juliet" laws that carve out an exception for statutory rape laws in situations where the age gap is small, generally 3 years or less. This is to account for the situations where, for example, a 17 and 18 year old are dating (think college freshman). I have never seen a Rome and Juliet law that would permit a 20 year old to date a 16 year old, but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Further, if he was charged (not just arrested) with statutory rape, that means the prosecutor had evidence that a crime was committed. Meaning even if there was a romeo and juliet law, it didn't apply.

I find it interesting that everyone’s so focused on the age gap of Alana and her boyfriend, I think it’s so much more problematic that he was accused of rape and drove drunk!!! I can’t even imagine being in her shoes. Her mother was in jail, she was a child celebrity (lots of pressure) had to be around her mother’s toxic relationships, and her sister died of cancer. I hope she’s doing okay now!
June is very rude in person. When i was working in a retail store, she came in and expected us to stop helping other customers to tend to her.

Whew this was an emotional roller coaster! I had to fight back tears when she said her mother hadn’t hugged her in years , then when I found out Anna was sick I cried more for her and her babies , then cried happy tears when Alana got her acceptance into school. I feel apart of the family and so invested.

Anna's story always resonated with me because I, too was abused by my "stepfather" for years when i was an innocent little girl. When i finally got the strenth and told my mom she didn't believe me (i do not blame her for any of it anymore though). They stayed married for 19 years until my mom passed away 7 years ago. My mom had an awful battle with cancer and suffered sooo much and i was her primary care taker. The cancer spread throughout her entire body and she unfortunately passed away at the age of 46 (16 days before her 47th birthday). I say all of this to refer to the first part of my comment, i wish more than anything i could have had that conversation with her but now i do not have that chance. 💔😥 So i am hoping that Anna and June can have that closure before it's too late. And i am so sorry if this triggers anyone i just want people to know that even if someone doesnt believe you experienced the abuse you did that doesnt mean it didnt happen or that noone will ever believe you please do not leave it all bottled up inside like i did for 27 years because i do believe my life would have been sooooo much different if i had known that and been able to share what i was going through instead of putting on a mask and trying everything i could to become numb so i didnt have to feel the trauma i had endured for many years as a child. Sending everyone loads of love, light, and hugs ya'lls way. 💗😘💗😘

Alana, you got this girl I am so proud of you to hear that you got into college and you want to be a need a neonatal nurse. My daughter is about to turn 40 and she is a ICU neonatal NP now because she went to get more degrees but she was at our end and then I see you neonatal care unit and now she is a nursing practitioner but still in the neo natal care unit she loves her job if you love kids this is a job for you. I’m not sure if you want to be just an RN, or if you wanna push further for some more degrees but you have all the opportunities in the world. You can do this you got this girl I’m praying for you.❤
The age difference and life experiences of a 16 year old vs a 20 year old gives cause for pause. They would seemingly have nothing in common. When it comes to 3exual activity, one has to consider the age of consent in the state in which Alana lives. Some states have a consent age of 16…others have a consent age of 15! So it’s basically a question of even if it’s technically or lawfully allowed, is it morally right?
She has some kind of kink with dating predators. We all know that rape victims and person who have had bad sexual experiences (including being sexually active too young) may start to crave and like the way they were treated. She may have built some type of attraction to the way her predator treated her and that is how she ends up with these men who have the same characteristics (a predatory manner). Having a weird kink is okay. But the issue starts when she allows her attraction to harm her children. She needs serious mental help, this is not normal whatsoever.
Atleast, that's just my theory based on the limited knowledge of psychology I'm studying and real life experiences with rape victims etc.
I think childhood trauma is not a kink she's just a hurt human with poor boundaries and such
@@nikkig4847 I never even implied not tried to imply that childhood trauma is a kink. Your comprehension skills need a little work. But to clarify, she is a grown woman that is allowing her "hurt" to harm her children. This is absolutely not okay, regardless of how hurt she may be.
When children come into the story, as a parent it is your duty to protect them and be the best parent you can be to them. Having convicted sexual offenders in their presence is not being a good parent at all. There is no excuse for a mother allowing these things to happen for her daughter's. None.
And if being hurt is an excuse for you to harm others then you need help too.
I absolutely love Toni Brianne deep dives so happy I found her channel! She goes so in depth into all of her videos and the subjects are always someone or something I have wished someone would make a video on. Tbh right now I'm going through the hardest time in my life as my 3 year old son is passing from leukemia. These last weeks although have been the most loving and together my family has been, when everyone goes to sleep at night and I don't have to keep the strong face on anymore it can be very sad and debilitating. It's so nice to have these videos to look forward too at the end of long days :) love to all from our little family in Canada.

Honestly, I just wish the best for those kids. Especially Anna, cancer and the treatment is absolutely exhausting to go through. Even with family and friends around it can still be super lonely.

That interviewer that is interviewing Honey Boo Boo is SO creepy. Why is she asking a teenager dating her first boyfriend to pin down whether they are getting married or not. She didn’t ask “what made you go into nursing?” or anything like that, she’s just harping on her relationship status. This interviewer is ridiculously vapid & she should stop harassing a teenager about picking the one”.
Looking at June’s childhood photo I thought “she was probably abused at a young age” and then the bombs started dropping and it makes sense.

It’s so heartbreaking hearing the honey boo boo story. I remember watching them when I started highschool and I loved them because they were so funny and authentic. When the rumors had spread about mama june I couldn’t believe it at all because she came off as a mom who would do anything for her kids. But then I watched the new show where she lost weight to “get back at sugar bear” and my whole perspective changed. We all loved seeing her happy with Gino but he ended up being really bad for her and she hurt so many people including herself. I haven’t watched anything new about them and pumpkins other kids but I hope they all do well and rest in peace for Anna ❤

Anna, I’m praying for you you got this girl kick cancers but… My sister has a bunch of different cancers in her body and this is the third time she’s fighting to beat this cancer now that she has with a big tumor on her head that if they operate she will die so she’s trying to live with that but she picked herself up every time and she’s strong so I want you to stay strong you got this love you girl❤❤

i think some of these comments missed her point talking about alana’s boyfriend. that’s basically a junior/senior dating a sophomore… which i’m sure most if not all of us have seen in high school. i dated an 18 year old when i was 16 but we’d been dating since she was 17 and i had just turned 16. it’s really not that wild. and me being in NC the relationship was legal even though i was still a minor because it’s under 4 years age gap and we had started dating before she turned 18. i think that’s all she was trying to say y’all lol. of course it would be a different story if he was like 20/21 dating a 15/16 year old but that’s not what happened so…

I’ve dated guys 10 years older than me when I was 19-22. Some of them were weird as hell and very much groomers. My husband is 3 1/2 years older than me. We don’t notice the difference in age ever. When I dated guys 7-10 years my senior we only noticed the age difference when talking about historic events. Other than that it was just as normal as any other relationship.

Yeah, 15 and 18 absolutely is legal in my state. Under 4 years age gap is legal. I can't imagine making a relationship between two high school age kids illegal.

I believe Alana had to grow up really fast, and if she was 20 and he was 24, no one would bat an eye. Look at her mother and alot of people around her. She was raising herself while her mom was getting high. Things in the south are a little different.
If June was abused at a young age, she probably never healed- explaining why she continued to find men like that, and adding to guilt and shame of not healing and getting herself help, she can’t see that her girls were or could be victims too- she blamed them same as she internally and possibly unknowingly blamed herself.

I've never watched this show, I guess it just never appealed to me? Nonetheless, this is sad. Incredibly sad. I sincerely hope that those abused girls get the therapy and healing they need. That mother is disgusting to me, and I'm appalled that they have ANYTHING to do with her. I hope that Alana does well in school, and the other girl who had cancer recovers.
