Thanks I’m in the process of replacing my kingpin in my trailer now I know how to do it without changing the plate because I got a quote today just for that the guy ask 2k without changing the plate
Hey man I have a question about the kingpin thickness bolster plate which size should I get 1/4” or 0.380 or what’s the difference in between them sizes

I don’t know why he didn’t take the kingpin gauge and measure the new kingpin to show us that it wouldn’t slide through. Also he never showed us his torch cutting or kingpin welding. I really wanted to see that it would’ve been more helpful. I can tell he definitely knows what he is doing but some more detail would’ve been better for the video.

I’ve always went with 5/16”
Thicker the longer it will last and gives peace of mind

I started a different career going to be getting back into it though i started repairing trucks and trailers in 1998
