I swear I'm one of the few only people with fond memories of windows ME. It wasn't any worse than 98, and it had this awesome ability thst it would just find and install the drivers for the device you used. It was AWESOME
The official ISO doesn't work anymore on systems without secure boot and TPM enabled.will there be an updated video or will that need to wait till unraid updates their OS with the TPM binaries in the OVMF?

I am liking most of windows 11 offers as well. The UI is vastly improved for HDR/4k and with a couple registry hacks you can move the taskbar to the top at least...

On this specific video though, it's a no go for the GPU pass through for rtx 3060. I've used your past videos on the how to unlock the nvidia card. Wonder if that is causing the issue now? I am on unraid 6.11.1, trying to setup a first Windows 11 VM that would work with GPU passthrough, and if I am not being too greedy, also like run the Plex Official docker running ready to transcode on demand there along with supporting the GPU passthrough in windows 11 vm in unraid. Even if I can get just the windows 11 VM to get the GPU pass through I'd be 50% happy, which is way more than what I can say at the moment! LOL

Space, please can you address the 6.9.2 issue with Nvidia GPU pass through to VMs? Even if it’s 10 seconds to say that it doesn’t work in the current build? We’ve all followed your videos back to front left to right, but GPU pass through got killed by the 6.9.2 update and you’re the last hope, as the threads on the forums have all gone dead, and unraid aren’t responding. Your passthrough just works...mine on the other hand does not. Followed all your videos and still cant get passed code 43. I got win10 VM to work with an old GTX460 but cant with a GTX680,.

This does not seem to work. After installing, the container eventually stops itself and there are no files created. If I try to load the console after it starts, I receive a message that the container is not running.
Making me feel old. Forgot about all those bad OS's. I think there was another one in there around Millenium that I started beta testing but it was so bad I gave up.
Installation went well, but I closed the initial VNC window by mistake now when I start the OS I have no way of seeing it. (I didn't install Splashtop which I didn't know needed to be installed) Anyone has an idea how to get to the screen without reinstalling it? (and I don't have VNC Remote as an option on the drop down menu) *UPDATE - Found out that selecting a graphics card passthrough the video to the card. I had to reselect VNC in graphic card, then I was able to remote desktop after allowing remote access on the vm.
Hey Ed, followed your shares setup prior to doing this VM tutorial. Have you ever had a 'fix common prob' error for having the virtio present in the '/mnt/' folder? Ive never had this issue before.

The moment I switch from VNC to AMD Graphics the whole Unraid fails, saying it is a USB drive issue (which it is not, since it works perfectly unless I set the VM to passthrough). I'm on 6.10.0-rc2. I'm switching to a Ryzen 7 5700G in a couple of weeks, and will try again then. Do you have any suggestions to make it work? Thank you.

When I click to start the Windows install, I get a blank screen with moving/waiting icons instead of the "click any key to start install" and it says no VNC. I am sure I missed a setting to enable the VNC or something. Ideas?
I have a problem I cant seem to fix. I have a w10 vm running on unraid that I can not access over vpn. First, i had to disable NLA and ignore cert for it to even connect from the guac panel on a machine on the lan in order to connect. Next problem is that I can't ping or access the w10 vm over a VPN connection, but can ping and access the unraid, router, and anything else over the VPN. I have already done the Host access to custom networks Enabled fix. Any ideas?
When I use Unraid to download the Virto file, it does but is 0kb in size which seems like it isnt working? Because when i try to install I get an error no drivers present even though it can see the Virto file

You need to make a video on creating an Ubuntu (Linux) VM. you have only done windows 10 and now 11, and Mac OS, but nothing on Linux. Please make one. also, some of the old videos on older version on Unraid are not relevant any longer. A lot has changed, settings have changed and update would be appreciated.
The only error I got was on the 4th to last line/download item "9603c9|ERR | 1.0MiB/s|UUPs/microsoft.modernapps.client.all.esd" but that error was enough not to be able to create the iso file.

@@XLucero1 easiest way is to just update unraid OS. I forget which version it was but they support w11 it was super easy to set up after updating

Yeah I just did the same thing. Alternatively there's sunshine and moonlight, Parsec, etc.

There are a lot of issues need to be addressed with windows installation like white lines and some games crash

the vm icons docker hasnt worked for me. i now have no icons!

Windows 11 now requires a network connection to install it, there is no longer a skip button. Does anyone have a solution?
Found the soulution in the unraid Forum, just press Shift+F10 to open the Console and type: OOBE\BYPASSNRO
I think if you install pro version with no internet connected you will get the option to set up local account. I

If you see this, hit shift+F10, enter this command "OOBE\BYPASSNRO" , and it'll reboot back into the setup mode with this option.

You skipped windows 8.1 which was ok (at least better than 8)
8.1 wasn’t a new OS… easily determined by the 8 POINT 1 part.
If you include 8.1 then you need to include 95b, 98SE, all the XP service packs, etc.

Yes sure is. I will be remaking my setting up a daily driver/gaming vm for both Windows 10 and Windows 11. Will be very soon :)
