Just really like how the stainless nutz really pop in the center. Good job and red bull please sponsor these guys please. Martin promises a Damascus can in your honor.
@MatheisVdl He didn't remove the zinc coating. It was why it didn't meld together well during forging. That knife will chip and crack. He doesn't know what he is doing. Watching him pack the canister should have shown you that.
@ removing the zinc coating on the bolt would be almost impossible plus he actually didn’t use that steel to make the edge he made some type of San mai using good steel for the core and this knife was just supposed to be a fun challenge…
@MatheisVdl Wrong. It's an easy soak and rinse. Another person too lazy to look up readily available information. And he is selling it for $1,100. It wasn't just a fun challenge. Disgusting simping.
I would love to see someone make a fishing knife from fishhooks, a skinning knife from steel buckshot, and a hunting knife from both. That would be an awesome set.
Looks awesome man! I was a little concerned about how your nuts were going to hold up to all that abuse. All in all, they look pretty awesome, now that you spent a while rubbing them and getting them all buffed and oiled. Good job!
You may have been able to mitigate the problem with the ends by forging them down first, before you welded on the handle. Anyway, great video as always.
from nutz to cookie dough to knife 😅 and what a beautie of a knife, as always keep gonig with those ideas "damast out of ...." 👍 nice application for a sponsorship 😉😅
Noice work mate. You make it look so easy. I appreciate your skill and humor . As a hobbie knife maker myself, you give a lot of insight, and inspiration. Trying challenging steel composition is exciting, even if it goes tits up 😂. Thanks.
Yeah heard that before! But we got that whiteout for free (and when you put a liiiiiiiittle bit of breakclwaner in it its super liquid) But when my stock is gone i'll switch to spraypaint
That’s just freaking NUTZ!!!😂😂. Awesome as always!! Soooo many things to say about nuts, you could have made this one 15 minutes longer😂. Started to press X but realized that I wouldn’t be able to stand up after squatting by the fire, I’m too old😢
"A" Lol Copperhead BBs smashed into grade 5 nutz and HSC powder makes a nice mix. And yes spray painting the canister is just as good..any thick layer of anything that can carbonize in heat makes a good separation layer to the core. Just use uncoated nutz..
You should wrap the energy drink can in paper and label it as "Knife Bull" or something like that only showing the can when they actually offer to sponsor your channel.

Hey Martin, die water jet cut front bolster's, gibt's die vllt bei euch bald im Shop? Genau wie das Stahlpulver was ihr für den Kanister genommen habt? Lg
There’s tons of videos of dudes doing canister Damascus with random materials like nuts, bolts, nails, razor blades, etc etc. I’ve never seen the billet look the way yours does. Were the nuts even steel? I’ve also never seen smiths cut the “bulge” off. I think you needed more compression of the billet with the case on.

@MartinHuber_Knives you know, like making soup, you take a little this, a little of that and mix it all together and see what comes out. Sometimes it good and sometimes not but at least you tried. If it goes totally wrong blame the camera guy, yeh that it, it's his fault. LOL 😆 🤣 😂

You need more compression on the can before it’s removed. I go with 1/3 compression from original height to 1/2
It works everytime, exept on this one

Also, if you put the powder in the cannister but have the cannister in an ultrasonic cleaner, it would make the powder settle and not lose any.
Intresting...
Got nuts? They look great! 😂

Campfire Martin will return soon.
