- Last time out at the creek fishing for game fish my hook up ratio was piss poor.. At best. I don't think I was doing anything wrong necessarily, besides using an extremely crust/bent jig head. Dumping fish after fish left me desiring more, as I'm sure it did most of you. Set out with a goal of landing half of the fish I hooked and well.. I did that, plus some. PAAA POWWW!!!

Me and one of my fishing buddies went to a farm pond and caught 49 bass between the 2 of us. I love the fall. Fished in southwest Oklahoma.
That was a nymph on the Wiper. They hatch into mayflies. We call them Trout Candy.

I used to fish the mouth of a sockeye salmon river which flows into a large lake in the PNW. You flip a heavy sink tip flyline with a rubber egg on a size 6 eagle claw egg hook over the dropoff for rainbows mostly, many in the 5 pound range and even sometimes 10. But the biggest one I caught, which was maybe 14ish, was by accident as I was wading across to the dropoff some distance up river, when my fly fell out of the hook holder. It was in just a few feet of turbulent water against the river's edge and within 9 feet of me or so. I thought I hooked a coho or something, but it was just a big doe rainbow.

I just use Carhartt coveralls for an extra layer of wind/cold protection during the fall and then some Berne ones that are insulated when it gets colder in the winter🤙

Well I am surprised you don’t catch more Walleye in the Rivers in fall. In the Ozarks big Walleye start biting on big minners in Sept. talkin 10lbs and above.

As always Josh, great content. I do love the fall, once you find them they are usually hungry buggers. My last 2 trips out for walleye were real good. Got my PB 30.25" Walleye. I fish alone usually, and sadly I talk to the fish too. Keep up the good work.
