  • This is the first ever recording of “Prelude” by B. Walton O'Donnell. Played by the brilliant Band of the RAF College, conducted by Squadron Leader Christopher I’Anson. Recorded in June, 2022 in Cranwell, UK. This is a video I put together, trying to evoke the changing moods of this piece of music composed by my great-uncle, B. Walton O'Donnell. It's a new recording, just made in June 2022. It's the first-ever recording too, even though this was written in the early 1920's.
It's part of a big recording project going on at the moment to record the Wind Band music of the three O'Donnell brothers, who were well-known conductors and composers who made a lot of records and regular radio broadcasts on the BBC that were heard around the world.
Two of them also left behind a lot of music that was unknown and unheard until recently - so it has just been recorded. A Crowdfunder campaign by the producer and supporters is running now to help complete the recordings and production of CD's and downloads, etc. Please support it and spread the word - Many Thanks!:

The three brothers were B Walton O'Donnell, R.P. (or Rud) O'Donnell and my grandfather, P.S.G. or Percy O'Donnell. The recordings will be available on the MPR label: www.mikepurtonr...
