My first experience in nascar went like this. How can you watch a bunch of guys going around in a circle? Friend replied “you have to pick someone and watch them”. Me “they all look the same except the rainbow car”. Friend “ that guy is a rookie”. Me “well if he is a rookie and I’m new to the sport I’ll root for him”. Man did I pick the right guy!!!

I've actually gotten back into nascar because of Ross Chastain. I was a huge Gordon fan for years, Chastain reminds me of Gordon! Nascar needs to fix the schedule though, no Brickyard 400? Dirt on Bristol? No 4th of July Daytona? All star race at Charlotte? Nascar has ruined the sport but I will always watch good drivers and Chastain has "it" in my opinion!

@@rebelsoul5980 I agree I am a big fan of Chastain. Everybody pussyfoots around and he makes it more entertaining. But the Brickyard was removed because nobody liked it, the road course is actually much better. The dirt could be good if they did it right without windshields and other problems. I forget why they changed the summer Daytona date and the all star race should go to some short track like North Wilkesboro in the future or maybe Darlington. But I don’t think Texas is the answer. The Colosseum sucked, don’t get me started on the playoffs F1 proved last year that you don’t need to create fake drama every year to have a good championship battle, the stages are obsolete because the cars are better this year and keep up with each other for longer. Nascar needs to fix a lot of stuff that the fans have been asking for a long time and they might be able to save their train wreck of a sport

Road courses are coming to Nascar weather people like them or not and I would rather them be at existing Nascar tracks and give that track another date than to add another track to the schedule. And tbh the road courses are pretty fun to watch. But while we’re on the subject of Pocono they should really bring back the 3/4 mile that the modifieds ran on. Auto racing and fighting are the only 2 sports I really like so it's a real treat when I see them combined but agreed, every time I see someone get physical with their helmet on it feels cheap, but he obviously wasn't afraid to tussle with the lid off as seen in this video.

It was Gordon, Earnhardt senior, and maybe a small hand full of others are the ones I will always remember.
