Himoru Arakawa is my TOP favorite manga writer for how she depicts Alchemy, constructs a plot with suspenseful twists, and manages an esnemble cast of colorful and devious characters all working off of each other just like how the elements do in her magic system. There is a huge takeaway from the story that uses the science of equivalent exchange to deliver the theme and lesson of the story and even in-universe for the characters to recognize their own character development! I don't know if a more perfect story involving Alchemy can be done but I am trying to include my take on it with Cymatics manipulating how materials meld and react with one another under the right frequency in my story. Alchemists and apothecarists are used as the local masons and physicians in my world for that reason and usually pass their knowledge down through an apprentice in a village where they are revered as an important part of society. The sacrifices they make to achieve the creations they transmutate are seen as a form of taxation they willingly offer to keep the wellness of their society.

Ether is obtained from the surrounding isolation as a catalyst in my world or it is transported in the form of etherite from naturally occurring sources in nature far from inhabitants. The spell songs are just what trigger the arrangement materials to come together in the correct arrangement. As long as the raw materials are provided, any inanimate substance can potentially be formed if it is understood chemically.
I've known about Alchemy for some time but haven't looked into it until now. I just come to think of a process that I think really is the most alchemical like process, even though it takes millions of years. The process I am referring to is the breakdown of radioactive material. I've heard that, in the end, what's left is led.

What about Blood used as the material fir Alchemical magic with amount of blood being directly proportional Amount of X thing created. People can use them as specific spells like creating Shadow clones with different powers or Magic Pots.

Heh, that is true. Led can be formed in other ways, but yes, radioactive decay eventually results in...led :D
