"While Amy flashes an expensive camera. wish us luck"
LOL 👍
You are correct about Beach Businesses and Beach Towns in general down this way. There are only 3 busy times for our nearby Beaches . Easter , Christmas and "Mexican Vacation Time." (July and first part of August) All the rest of the year it is beautiful in quiet empty splendor. We are Gulf Coast , so no big white sandy beaches, but most have coconut palms almost to the water and it looks like a postcard but no one there. We love it. 25 minutes from home and I am at the beach !
That sounds lovely.
We are stoked when we find those remote spots with nobody and nothing around, but it feels a little weird to us when we are staying in these beach side towns that are all set up for tourism, but we're the only nonlocals there.
@@TheTravelingTogetherJournal Yes , and it can be wonderful, right? Enjoy !
Seeing Blue Beauty on that ferry was pretty damn cool. It just took that we are not in the states vibe to a whole other level.
Always good when there is some surfing in the video.
Always good when there is surfing in our travels 😉

Next episode! The border crossing wasn't the best, but we had some fun times once we were in. Beautiful hiking and excellent surf 😁
I love watching y'all videos. I am curious about the incident in Guatemala.
Hi George. we talk about what happened and what we did wrong in this live post we made: ua-cam.com/video/qyAkjDnxrD0/v-deo.html
If you still have questions feel free to ask :)
awesome job ! my girlfriend and I are building a 4x4 skoolie and making the same trek to family we have in Pavones costa rica! we are in our build phase but will be aiming to leave next fall! these vids are great.
Thanks Will.
We scored in Pavones. Would have stayed longer, but our visas ran out. That place is awesome.
4x4 school bus is a rad build project. I bet it's going to be super comfortable.
How much time do you have for your trip?
@@TheTravelingTogetherJournal we intend on giving ourselves 6 months to up to almost 2 years of traveling depending on how everything goes. How long were you and matt on the road for?
It ended up being around 21 months. It took us 1 year to get to Panama, 6 months to get back to the USA, then a couple months cruising South West USA and back into Baja.
It's nice that you have the 2 years available so you don't need to be in a rush. There are so many awesome places, you could spend a life time exploring.
Now that’s a beard!
hey Matt, are you from Florida, pretty cool that your riding a bat surfboard, Brian is great shaper out of Melbourne fl
I'm very happy with both boards that Brian shaped me before this trip, but I am not from Florida. I was living in Hawaii before we started traveling and Brian is shaping on Oahu now.
I like this 2024

You do have fans that are black, just wanted to inform you and make you aware of the diverse support. 👍
Cool. Everyone is welcome👍
you MIS xela
😘🌮👍
Do you guys have "Spanish Class CD's to listen while on the road?
no. we did a computer program to try to improve before the trip. Since starting the trip we used a book to help with basic grammar and Amie makes flashcards to help with our vocabulary. We also did 2 weeks of spanish school at lake atitlan ( ua-cam.com/video/3YYq8U1XhEQ/v-deo.html ) but to be honest, it's a struggle for us. Each region that we go to has a different dialect, so we spend a lot of time relearning how to say the same things we thought we already knew how to say.
I was in Antigua and Xela for a couple months and asked about visiting the beach but it just didn’t seem to be a real destination for Guatemalans. The attitude was “why would you want to go there” and “they don’t have nice sand like in Mexico”. Tikal or Atitlan seemed like popular places to visit but not the beach.
Definitely not the country most people go to for a beach vacation, but national holidays see lots of people from Guatemala City and Antigua and other cities coming down to the beach.
Their are WRONG PACIFIC and Caribean Beches in GUATEMALA are Beautyful for many reasons.
@@TheTravelingTogetherJournal El PAREDON , Oceana, Monterrico, Las Lisas , Iztapa, all tuis Beaches in the Pacific, and Playa Blanca , And Playa Dorada en LIVINGSTON CARIBEAN Coast are beautyful.
@@blueangel4274 Yes they have many beautiful beaches. But for some reason Guatemala is not as well know for beach vacations to international tourist as some of its neighboring counties. They seem to be known for cities, jungle, and archeological cites.
@@TheTravelingTogetherJournal Yes i understand that , I am A Historian , and member of one of the very old Families in GUATEMALA, , [ My Great Granmother Natalia Pivaral y Asturias, her Mother Leonor Asturias y Santa Cruz De Pivaral [ All Traditional Names ], and that is for my Mother Side , for my Father side Im Argentinean Italian Origin , and i Know every side of that Beautyful country and il telling you , That Situation Change , Now the Next Big Guatemalan Touristic Sites will be EL PAREDON and LIVINGSTON ,
Fun stuff. Do you find the rough roads may cause you more repairs on your vehicle than less rough terrain.? What tires are you using?
They use BF Goodrich Radial All-Terrain KO tires. They had wheel bearing issues a couple episodes back due to rough terrain travel.
Thanks for fielding that one mwilliamshs. You've been paying attention :)
We are using BFG all-terrain KO2 tires. I have been quite happy with them. A good quality All-terrain with strong sidewalls is definitely recommended.
The rough roads do cause extra abuse to the vehicle, but it's well worth the adventure for us
What was the first beach town you went to?
Never mind, you mentioned the Driftwood Surfer later on, I know where that is.
