Wow! So nice. Thank you Jenna! YES, Jenna Rainey belongs in that list for sure 😉! Excellent list too. I love what you said at the beginning about community over competition. When I started my channel I really wanted to promote more community among the watercolor art channels. I noticed other communities on UA-cam seem to do that better than watercolorists, so it's great to know your mind on that. Of the "other" landscape painters you mentioned my fav is probably Oliver Pyle. He definitely nails the subtleties of beautiful light. Colin Steed I'm not familiar with so I'll check his channel out. Thanks again.

Yes, Paul Clark! Great explanations of techniques and landscape demonstrations. And, a wonderful find- Joe Cartwright is a great teacher and does amazing sea and beach tutorials as well as landscapes. Also Liron Yanconsky does wonderful demonstrations in a loose style, and breaks down key aspects: values, shapes, shadows and colour temperature. He shows how to simplify and how to paint people, which has given me the confidence to try things that had always seemed too hard.

I love Michelle Weber! Her videos are great to learn about all things watercolor. She doesn’t do many tutorials but she gives vital information about how to paint with watercolor and understanding watercolor from brushes, paper, paper stretching, the paints, pig, ents, pigment numbers, color mixing, the list goes on and on! De winton paper co has a wonderful, illustrative style and her painting approach is very dainty. She often uses small brushes and paints very beautiful, neat and clean florals, landscapes, and animals. Shayda Campbell is probably my favorite watercolor UA-camr out there. Her style is very similar to mine and I love the colors she often uses when she paints. She also makes the whole approach to painting seem much simpler which is always helpful. I love this idea of giving shout outs to other watercolor UA-camrs! I love listening to you talk about their styles and what their channels approach is from your perspective! These are always really fun videos!

I would add three more to your list - all of whom are already absurdly popular. Mateusz Urbanowicz; a Polish animator/designer living in Japan who does art tutorials on illustration and plein air painting. Unlike most UA-camrs he has his own personal aesthetic and an instantly recognisable style. Teoh Yi Chie; a Singaporean urban sketcher and art materials reviewer who also has his own personal style. And of course James Gurney. He used to be a fantasy illustrator and editorial artist. I say used to be, as I don't think there is enough work going in these fields for anyone, let alone James Gurney. Fortunately he has reinvented himself as possibly the best plein air painter working on UA-cam. He works in gouache and watercolor, or combinations of both.

Jenna, thank you for taking the time to do this again as we enter the new year. I too believe in spreading the love and joy of watercolor. It's been a life-changer for me in a very positive way. Thank you for mentioning these artists, it speaks volumes about the person you are. I will definitely be checking out their channels. I'm thrilled that you included Diane Antone Studio on your list this year. I've been following her since her channel started and am a huge fan. She offers so much to her subscribers and your mention of her is well deserved. Thank you for all of the lovely tutorials you share. It's been super fun to follow you on your travel to France, and getting a little tour of your new home. I'm so happy for your success and wish you a very happy new year as we welcome in 2023!

Thank you for mentioning many of my favourites. Colin Steed was new to me and I'll look him up.
You mentioned Nia of Nianiani last year -- she is so consistent and professional, and generally shows first with sketching how to construct the subjects she paints, especially flowers. I love Peter Sheeler, and Nil Rocha is very similar to him in both painting style and video style -- both are line and wash painters who mostly do buildings. Many comments have already suggested Paul Clark and I echo that -- he's a very entertaining UA-camr who paints mostly landscapes and/or buildings. One of the best watercolour instructors I've found is Lynn Baur of Dragonfly Spirit Studio. She doesn't post a lot of videos but her explanations of the basics are excellent and her website is awesomely organized so you can find exactly the content you want. I've been following Harriet deWinton, whom you included this year, since the start of my watercolour journey and find her style surprisingly easy to do, therefore good for beginners; contrary to the common belief, detailed painting is easier than loose for many beginners. Ceecee has wonderful style, as you noted, though she's not posting much these days. Liz Chaderton is worth a look, as is Wendy Powell-Jones.
So much talent and generosity on UA-cam! I've been learning watercolour for just over a year, and almost solely with the help of UA-cam watercolour artists.

You have reignited my passion for watercolor. I think I first dabbled in it when I was in high school- my parents bought me a watercolor book and basic supplies back in the '90's. I have always enjoyed it but would only "pick it up" briefly then get distracted by something else- life tends to do that. The last time I played around with it was about 5 years ago- I goofed around with it for a while and mostly tried to replicate what other artists had done; if I'm honest with myself, the results weren't terrible. When the quarantine began, my son and I discovered fluid art. I was surprised by his interest in it because he is not artistically inclined. He soon lost interest but I continued with it. It became an outlet for me that I thoroughly enjoyed and I even tried to sell my artwork and created a website. Then life through me a curveball. My son was diagnosed with leukemia May '22. He and I have always been close. To say my world changed would be an understatement.
The last 9 months of my life are indescribable. After my son had a bone marrow transplant but remained hospitalized, I turned to watercolor as a way to pass the time. At least half of our lives have been spent in the hospital since his diagnosis. In the past month I have watched at least 15 of your videos. As I try to breathe and recollect myself, I tend to pour a glass of wine, light the fireplace and get out my watercolor supplies and watch one of your videos. It is a great way to lose myself; living in the world of leukemia treatment and recovery has been utterly exhausting.
I know in one of your videos you had mentioned avoiding toxic chemicals in your art supplies due to an auto-immune condition. I apologize if I am inaccurate in this information- it resonated at the time but I won't pretend to remember details beyond what is necessary in my life at the moment.
What I ultimately would like to say is "thank you". I appreciate your videos so much and it has been such a wonderful way for me to escape my reality for a brief moment. I feel like you set me up for success- when I implement your teachings I have loved and enjoyed the outcome- that feeling is priceless.
Please keep doing what you're doing. There are so many of us that have been touched by you but don't take the time to tell you.

I really like Miranda Watson. She is very good and posts one to two times a week. Usually, it is Tuesday and Friday unless real life intervenes. Also, Dr. Oto Kano knows her paints. She does a lot of comparison, trying the watercolors with different things to see how they react. She has a big database of all her research.
