Hi DamoT, Yep indeed that is a keystroke thats important. In fact I've never had any rendering issues with Avid when stepping in and applying effects....Rendering takes ages regardless. My actual issue with Avid and how it comps effects is more to do with a legacy process that's not really comparable with Resolve and Premiere, which do it do much better. After 26 years editing on systems like Avid, I can see that others NLE's have better ways of doing things
Yes appreciated, that’s a sort of half way house. My bigger issue is why we have to to this. The consistency of adding effects and stacking is sometimes frustrating with avid
@@ColourMeInPost You are absolutely right, Avid works with effects, but it is not intuitive or logical at time. Avid should absolutely rethink their effect system and the way they are applied. The Avid effects should be much easier to use and Avid should take a good look at their competition gaining terrain in the NLE world.
@@olivierwicki1229 totally agree! Premiere and Resolve have a more user friendly operation…one of the reasons I did this video, as even though I can ‘get on by’ with Avid and their stacking of effects, was mainly due to my 25 years being annoyed with this way of working with Avid… sometimes it feels like Avid also want you use another NLE
This is great! Simple but important workarounds for AVID bugs. Thank you!
Thanks for taking the time to show what I've always thought were unnecessary extra steps.
It's a pain, isn't it. It's something Premiere does so much better.
Just hold alt and drag, its been alt for years. I personally wouldn't collapse to hide effects, this will take far longer to render.

@@ColourMeInPost for sure avid is way behind
@@DamoT Absolutely DamoT 🤣It can be so legacy!! Needs to adapt to compete with Resolve
If you hold option and drag an effect on the top of an existing effect your problem is fixed.
