From what I've seen in this reels, out of all the online 3d animation schools, this one has consistently the best students. It's crazy.

Whats with the guy's right foot at 3:02? It's missing a sandal and it's also full of unnecessary kites around the calf when he could've easily
continue the loops over the rest of the leg? He has perfect geometry everywhere else so is there a special reason for this?

Love them, the animation is super inspiring! And the model at 2:20 completely mirrors Sam Nielson's "unlikely hit man" posted on his blog back in 2007. (Sam is a concept artist for Avalanche and a teacher at BYU) The assignment here was probably to model a character designed by someone else. (Kind of like the Wolverine model from earlier in the vid.) It's a great model of her, love the apron. :)

other books: thinking animation by angie jones and jamie oliff. acting for animators by ed hooks. there are others that one might be able to find at the local library. Some even have sample 3d programs to get you started as well as how other programs work. what i'm really trying to say if you want to be an animator, research it and do it. learn all you can from the all the free sources available, that way you won't be making any risky financial choices thus hampering life with needless debt

Haaaa the grenade pin flies away when the ring is out. So, that grenade wasn't armed when it flew over the fence. That is why you need to do research.

These videos almost make me wanna sign up. But then I remember I'm too broke for this course, let alone to maintain a license for Maya.
I'll just have to stick to Blender and random UA-cam videos.

there's plenty of ways to get started and no end to the tutorials that you can find on how to get started. I think a good way to get your feet wet is Alice. it's kid friendly but then again that makes it easy to get started with as an adult. There's daz3d software i suggest going with 2.3 if you can find it. Blender is good. you can change the interface to that of Maya if you are familiar with that program. Book suggestions: Illusion of life. it's about 2d animation but the principles are same

Guessing that's sarcasm... But on the actually animated bits... First piece could show far more in the facial animation. Next two are very linear. There's not real highlight moments or changes in pace/motion to catch the eye. 3rd is nicely stylised Bellboy is a weak concept and execution IMO. Next the Run piece is nothing special. I won't go on. The models and textures are nice and quirky as I hinted at. Just I feel the animation could be developed. My guess, a modeller get the Disney job...?!

  • @nickhales9938

Sadly some very average animated work. And as pretty as they are, not sure how modelling static characters falls under animation. But I guess the turntable moves...

On the contrary, I hate it as well as the other two similar clips. It might be a nice character but the fact that it speaks so naturally-humanly contradicts with the character's unrealistic style and it makes it fall deep in the Masahiro Miro's uncanny valley -a huge mistake! In other words, the voice style should match the character's unrealistic appearance (using exaggeration). The animation should be more exaggerated too.
