Run it 24/7 for dinos. They’ll just have time to reproduce and replenish their numbers during down time. They’re quick at it as you know. Good luck sir.
I vacuumed up the Dino’s and strapped a toothbrush to my gravel vac filtered the water through socks back into my sump and used this sterilizer and within 2 days they were all gone. My tank was overrun too. And now it’s like they were never there
That's exactly what I did and it worked raised my phos. And nitrates also increased my bacteria same products also added a uv the only thing I took away the socks and used filter floss dumped every day just in case dinos stayed in socks also cleaned every day lost some corals but is coming back took three months

You can get a dozen 5 micron socks and change them every day. It will catch the Dino’s better
Thank you for the video, how did you mount the UV sterilizer? Is it on the floor along the back of the tank?
And does the input and output matter along the length of the UV sterilizer?

UV can be the solution but i agree with @Ryan’s Reef 24/7 will be better.
great video, i have a reefer 170 and was wondering how and where id plumb a uv sterilizer as my return pump is too high a flow for the recommended uv's flow rate? thanks guys
I have an xl200 nearly the same tank. Have decided installed a UV yet. I’m pulling my hair out with the dino, quit literally 😂
@@scrissey96 I'm waiting on my pump to arrive next week b4 I can turn my new uv , but in the mean time I've started dosing vibrant and noticed a difference already, have you tried that route yet?
Skimmer is supposed to run 24/7 just dont skim so wet
Just a few things. You should run it 24 hours. #2 You got to small of a pump. That number they put of the front for GPH is not accurate. If you need 250 GPH and you buy a pump rated for 250 GPH its not really going to be 250 GPH, so you need a slightly bigger pump rated for more then your target. #3 and this is optional but I would totally get some type of flow meter if you can. Just to keep the right amount of water passing through. If you own an apex its really easy to add one. But like I said that one is totally optional.
Why run it 24hrs? I was under the impression you should only run it at night. Im going to run it from 7pm to 7am. I'll be setting one up soon. Have a 400gph pump coming but am aiming for 200gph. I'm just going to adjust the flow on the pump and let it go for 1 minute then measure the water output heh. That will give me a pretty good indication of how much flow I'm dealing with.
How how Dr. Tim's and MB7 did you dose a day?
do you have it pumping back into the sump?
Leave the UV light on, they are designed to run 24/7 not turned on and off.
I broke down a tank because I couldn't beat them... I tried EVERYTHING
They can be tough to shake!
