tkdmh In the official music video (the one you have playing in the corner) there is a bit where it shows the lyrics on a computer. Some of the lyrics are there including that line. I understand. tkdmh I'd say it's indeed "hollowing" souls, because this song is about Smaug's destruction, and the rest of the chorus uses themes like "burning the trees, blood in the breeze," so I think in this case he would not jump from a theme of despair and hopelessness to a theme of souls being respected, since Smaug's goal would not be to revere your soul, but to crush it. :)
