    Dr. Rajani I do intermittent fasting 3 times a week, removed a lot of bad carbs, shelf.bread, rice and pasta, refined sugars and I eat a one high fat meal. The meal is completed high in protein, hood fat from salmon, avocatoe, nuts and chicken. And I swim 45 minutes 3 to 4 times a week. I lost 25bpounds of inflamation 2myears ago. Tbe fat never returned. My skin glows, I have no wrinkles and the sagging is gone. I also consistently take Vit D3 and K2 vitamin C, pink B, B6, and Magnesium. All my food is natural, mo oils other than olive oil and coconut oil organic. I feel young I am 60 but I look like 35.

    I have lost 20 pounds in 8 months by eating 1,5 grams of protein per kilo and stopping alcohol.
    and I kept it off ! I feel so much better.
    Dr Rajani is right (as usual) protein is essential for feeling full and fueled.
    And don’t feel guilty using protein powder, it really helps if you want to reduce meat consumption.

    Dr. Rajani, I admire your work tremendously and have said many times that if I ever won the lotto, I'd be on a plane in a flash to go see you. I've lived my entire life being insulin-resistant and overweight. I was bullied in school and ridiculed during my teens. In my mid 60's I thought I had found the solution when my doctor prescribed Ozempic for my A1C and the pounds melted off effortlessly. I went from a size 2-3X to a size 0-2 but sadly the happiness was short-lived. I started experiencing horrible flank pain, fainted at work, and ended up in the hospital with a stomach obstruction, a hole and tubes on my side coming from my hepatic duct, and a biliary drain. And yes, you are right, my face looked horrible. When I left the hospital I weighed 93 pounds and looked like a zombie. If there's anyone out there taking this medication please listen to your body. I wouldn't want anyone going through what I went through. One of my ex-staff passed away from Thyroid Cancer and another friend lost her vision from one eye temporarily (this is the latest side effect).

      Thanks for sharing this story; it is really a cautionary tale that everybody must hear.
      Everybody has a story; I am 62 and tried different diets with exercise; in the process, I have always looked and look younger in my body, but not in my face, I lost my face's fat, so my face doesn't look as young. On the good side, I have perfect health. I think I will try what Doctor Anil recommends: PRF on my face, but I live in Mexico. I think Dr. Anil has also been teaching in Mexico; I wish he would recommend to me a clinic here with some of his students or clients.

    Thank you for this video. I have been on low carb diet, mostly omad, intermittent fasting for over a year, I lost 30 pounds in the first 3 months, I didn't mean to lose it that fast. I did notice my neck was a little loser which devastated me. The last 10 pounds have been the hardest. My friend is on monjaro, I tried to warn him of the issues of muscle loss, lose skin, his skin is actually sagging on his legs, arms and face. I have tried to get him to do a high protein low carb diet, but he is happy just using the monjaro. I'll stick with my low carb over a pharmaceutical any day of the week.

      Thanks @smidge99 It counts

    • @candicec6513
      @candicec6513 16 днів тому +5

      It counts if it has leucine, amino acid needed for muscle growth. You need 7 g leucine per day, split into three times per day an essential amino acid. It's most abundant in meat. I'm a certified menopausal health and fitness specialist. Should be able to ask company leucine content in any collagen or protein type supplement.

    • @jimmcdonald7050

    Really enjoyed this video! Here's a helpful bit of info too... It's been found that meats raised under regenerative farming practices have anti-inflammatory compounds and basically act like antioxidants for our bodies. Where conventionally raised meats create inflammation in our bodies. My hubby was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes a couple years ago, and he committed to completely changing his diet/lifestyle to the point to where he was able to come off insulin. It's type 2, so... change the lifestyle, change the disease, right? I helped him track/monitor/plan everything he ate/drank, and engaged in light weight lifting or body weight exercises (calisthenics), both of which have so many benefits. The goal was to obtain a stable fasting blood sugar each morning, and he did. Our eating window is 7:30 am to 7:30 pm, and we eat meat or plant proteins, fresh/frozen veggies/legumes/grains, and enjoy different fresh fruits. We also stay away from dairy because of lactose intolerence. The changes have improved his health to the point that his Nephrologist, who diagnosed him, told him... Had I not diagnosed you, I wouldn't have believed what you've accomplished. People think that a clean diet is equivalent to being food-deprived, but it's really not. Food can be medicine or poison for your body, and since our bodies are always pulling towards healing, the right foods, and good movements, can definitely help you feel much better. Best of luck to everyone on their own health journeys, and thanks Doc, for putting out solid information. 🙏🏽

    I know LOTS of people on Ozempic. None of them exercise, which is probably why they were overweight to begin with, and they definitely look older but skinny. Perhaps losing that much weight when you are big would cause a saggy/older look regardless of the drug and some are “healthier” in the sense that their joints don’t hurt etc. but they will train pain for other issues down the road

  • @ExtraMundane-x4q

    Great Info doc...Ozembic is not the only dangerous drug being used for weight loss. I am on a migraine medication everyday that I MUST use to control the horrible migraines I get. The FDA approved this recently for weight loss [off label]. BUT for weight loss it can only be used at max 100 mg. I am on a way higher dose. The weight loss on this was fast and furious! Im 62 so was very worried about the devastation to my face. I take a collagen powder supplement and keep a good diet [when I can manage to eat with no appetite]. I also take other good supplements and vitamins. Now my body looks about 100 years old but my face...not bad at all because of LED light use also and mocroneedling with serums. I take fish oils and olive oil everyday and rooibos tea and low dose hormone replacement. So my face thank goodness looks very good for someone weighing 98 pounds. But BE CAREFUL PLEASE! ALL medications that cause quick weight loss are very dangerous. For me...low pulse rate from the medication and low blood pressure. That is NOT a good thing when it is way too low and there are many other side effects. You need a good doctor to monitor your health to compensate for dangerous medications you need. Obesity is bad too but weight loss needs to be managed. Quick fast weight loss is not the panacea everyone thinks! Getting into size 3 isnt ok when I see in the mirror what the body looks like after a 35 pound loss within months! Be aware of trade offs 🙏 please.

    Women never eat any protein because it feels heavy and is hard to digest.
    A tip: eat eggs. They are easier to digest and will keep you satiated most of the day. You can also add a low calorie protein shake and then have some fish , turkey or chicken to get your daily intake.
    Font be afraid of healthy fats . They help you feel full and help your hair skin and nails. Fat doesn't make you fat , sugar and fast carbs does.
    Tip:take apple cider vinegar capsules after eating meat and it will help you digest it faster.

    Not only does ozempic wreak havoc on the skin, my Hashimoto's doc (who is also an Obesity specialist) said he does not like to Rx ozempic because of potentially horrific systemic side effects.
    Higher protein/low carb + intermittent fasting (2 meals/day) has always helped me lose a few extra lbs here and there... and this is with minimal physical activity... but a person really has to eliminate eating out and especially alcohol to lose weight effectively, neither of which I do anyway.

      @@lilmissbex Do you not research every drug (even supplement) you take before you take it to know its safety profile? 🙂 Of course, a person needs to weigh the risks vs. benefits, but Ozempic is not a drug to be taken lightly when other routes are available for weight loss.

    • @lilmissbex

      @@dmrd222 oh I do and that's why I'm questioning your comment. But thanks for assuming I don't with your snarky response. Anything you take including OTC Advil has adverse effects. The studies being done on GLP-1s are astounding, and I'm not just talking about weight loss. And I don't just listen to my doctor saying s/he thinks something is good or bad - I follow studies as I do my own research. Studies on GI health and positive impacts they're seeing for IBD patients. Studies on positive impacts with Dementia patients. And so much more. Pros seem to be out weighing the cons!

    • @dmrd222
      @dmrd222 16 днів тому +1

      @@lilmissbex And I thought YOUR comment was snarky --- as in, "seriously? potentially horrific side effects?" with a smiley emoji. Now that we're straight... I never listen to any doctors without researching what they say. I have researched these drugs and, imo, a person should have *good medical reason* to take one aside from a "quick fix" to lose weight. In other words, should already have a medical condition that *warrants* taking these drugs. That's ALL I'm saying.
      GI health? These drugs *slow gut transit time* and that can wreak havoc on the gut. The gut is the basis for ALL good health. An unhealthy or dysfunctional gut causes all health problems. Have any of these studies addressed the slowed transit time and what it can do to affect gut flora? I had a life-threatening C.diff. infection. I was within minutes of dying due to a proliferation of C. diff. bacteria in the gut. Of course, there are other VERY problematic systemic adverse effects for a person who is only using these drugs for a quick weight loss fix. Aside from GI issues such as bowel obstruction, pancreatitis, kidney involvement, do these studies talk about a more common occurrence like devastating HAIR LOSS from losing weight so rapidly?

    • @lilmissbex
      @lilmissbex 16 днів тому

      @dmrd222 agree to disagree. I have IBD and almost died in 2006 from GI meds way more dangerous. Glp1s are having positive results with mucosa and they're anti inflammatories. Yes they slow git transit, which is GREAT for IBD especially Crohn's since most patients are malnourished due to the incredibly fast transit and diarrhea. But with your extensive research, I'm sure you've seen all of this. So instead of pointing fingers at dangers, look at the possible positives that might be! Have a great day!

    I would never take Ozempic, facial fat is too valuable especially after 40, and for my insulin-resistance I prefer high dosages of daily oral cholecalciferol, zinc, chromium and D-chiro-inositol so that I also upregulate my AR.
    One way to increase elastin is by keeping my iron and copper levels in the lower range of normality, so that the LOX enzymes don't create collagen fibrosis and I also adapt to brief controlled hypoxic moments

      @Sleepdriver1984 Would you mind telling me how you take these items? Do they come together in one supplement or do you purchase them separately? I have horrible insulin resistance, which doesn't let me shed one pound since I had to stop the Ozempic. Ozempic landed me in the hospital and almost killed me.

      sorry to hear that...!
      In my case it's 20.000 IU of cholecalciferol (+ 200 mcg of vitamin K2 containing both MK-4 & MK-7 forms), 25 mg zinc, 250 mcg chromium and 100 mg D-chiro-inositol, each one separately, and though it might be a bit expensive, it works very well

    Hi Dr. Rajani. Thank you for the great informative video. I have a question about the protein. Should you eat (1gram per 1lb of body weight) for your current weight or the weight you are trying to get to? Thank you.

    Thank you thank you so much for this video! I’m 54 and started Carnivore about 3 months ago. I lift heavy weights 5 x a week and since I’ve upped my protein I CAN NOT BELIEVE THE DIFFERENCE in my body physique.
    My family doctor was not on board and wanted full lab/blood work done. My follow up visit with him was amazing he was totally gobbed smacked. He brought up my blood work from years ago and he could not believe my results. He actually said” I have nothing bad to say, what you’re doing keep it up!”. It’s the best lab results I’ve ever had and he has been my family doctor for over 15 years.
    Whole food protein is a must for females as we age and strength training is everything it’s a must.

    I took ozempic and I lost a lot of weight . I did lose face fat but in a good way . I believe it lowered my set point . I can now eat normally and I don’t gain an ounce . I work out and eat healthy. I do believe that for me it helped balance my gut . I use to have all kinds of issues. I feel I had a reset . I am over 55 and menopause really did a number on my metabolism. I never had a weight problem until menopause. I have always been athletic and have had a healthy diet. It may work for someone that has hormone imbalances. ❤I tried fasting .. high protein, intermittent fasting , hormone replacement, less aerobic , more aerobic, vegan , carnivore, blood tests , calorie restriction, personal training, nutritionist, every single diet out there i also gave up alcohol . For 15 years. Nothing. Ozempic 30 lbs in a year . No regrets . For me it was the best decision I ever made .❤

    there is a article you can google from allure on the skin and ozempic. kind of interesting. i think it might be a combination of the loss of muscle mass and what allure talks about why some people look older. someone said that preservative could be why a lot of people regain weight. that when you lose fat it goes into your blood stream and have a high preservative level in the blood stream. fish and meats are some of the worst. organic still has it but not as bad. what do you think of that dr anil?

    This is a great! Weight bearing exercise, intermittent fasting, eating 1 gram of protein per pound body weight, collagen powder supplementation, etc. I am sure high quality skincare including devices is a given. I would add losing weight slowly & waiting at least a year before turning to surgery/aesthetics since it takes time for the skin to adjust to it's final "tightness" after extreme weight loss. Most people don't have the money to have have the skin removed afterwards and get facial cosmetic procedures to reverse the sagging. It would be great if science could find a compound that helps maintain the skin during the weight loss process. If they can find drugs to cause rapid weight loss without much effort, surely they can find a drug to boost collagen and elastic production from within. (I know I am dreaming here, but I am sure it will happen at some point.)
