I hope your channel and this video will blow up so that people starts to appreciate female idols for their hardworks instead just hating on them for small mistakes they make. Female idols like yuna, jennie and wonyoung seems to be the biggest target of this pick me girl hate that's going around.
hi thank you so much! i'm glad you enjoyed the video. i agree, we need to start seeing female idols as people and that like every regular person, they can mess up and it's okay! :)
I want to open debate about something...kpop covers When male idols cover female idols I feel no one really bat an eye about it, they even get praised When female idol cover male idols I always see general comments like "yeah but they will never beat my idol", "they didnt do it well", or even passive aggresive comments like "X idol songs are unique none other can cover", in short, they get critiziced more... What do you think might be the reason behind this? Are they really doing it bad or jealousy and envy are attacking once again?
My 2 cents on the issue. For the most part. The logic goes like this Men generally is attracted to women Women generally atttacted to men Female idol to men - crush Malr idol to female - her fantasy boyfriend Male idol to men - good singers / dancers Female idol to women - the girl she'll never be Apart from visuals and for some their raw talent. The male audience generally dont care about the idol's likes, dislikes, character, persona, etc. On the other hand, female fans cares about an idol's character, persona, likes, dislikes. That's why a female fan is more likely to stalk on an idol's social media as well. Lets take for example the V - Jennie situation. V fans hate Jennie coz they feel like V deserved better Jennie male fans dont care at all coz the only thing important to them is that she looks good and for some makes good music. This difference in idol - fan relationship between the 2 genders is what makes the culture more toxic towards female idols.
Great video, hopefully ur channel blows up. My fave has to be Soyeon and Yuqi. I think their so freaking cool. Still new to kpop cant wait to discover more talented artists/idols
oh my god, thank you!!! i'm glad you loved it and it honestly validates how i feel about youtube all this time. hope to see you watch the other videos and future ones hehe 😗
loveee this !!!!!! i haven’t finished the video yet but i just had to say completely agree with the comparison to britney spears like omg i’ve been thinking the same thing
The hate Jennie gets for the idol is conflicting to me cause some parts are valid (joining the show when Sam levinson was in charge imo isn’t a good move) but the slut shaming she gets for doing the choreo is so dumb like the character being promiscuous or having characters who are sexual isn’t bad but the idol clearly was doing it for the male pleasure I still love miss Jennifer ruby jane Kimberly and obviously keep her accountable idk she’s my fav 🤭🤭
hey!! jennie's my favorite member as well and may i say, she's the most inconsistent gal i have ever known! i mean, she isn't the worst person ever as many wanna say, but she's definitely not innocent, which idk, makes me wanna love her more. i hope you're subbed bc i'm in the midst of writing an episode on bp where i'll be talking about her lots
Hi. Nice video. The patriarchy is an entity as ethereal as God or the tooth fairy; I wouldn’t use that term. Instead, I would point out that the majority of the kpop customers, both men and women like the female idol stereotypes. That’s why they don’t change. I don’t think the male and female stereotypes are changing anytime soon. Things have been the same for millennia; why would they change? After all, 2023 humans are the same as their ancestors. Big wheel keep on turning.

Just plain jealousy, that's it ! The fans outnumber the haters 99-1. They trained hard for their success.

internalized misogyny! def jealousy or envy that they could be recognized for covering their fave male idols' covers and they can't~
