Phil's a great guitarist, really classy, I think it comes from the fact he was classically trained originally, he just plays a little differently to everyone else. Love it.
@@Mediaright Yes. 2 different version. The intro version is just that short. Then they Record a Full version and released as a single that went no 1 on rádio. Different versions.
This performance is great. Paul Shaffer and the gang never ceases to amaze me. And the Rembrandts are super good too. Reminds me of the performance with The Proclaimers.
Before this these were in a band called, "Great Buildings". Their album, Apart From The Crowd, is incredible. Saw them a few times at the Whiskey back in the early 80's. Great voices and great guitars as well.
One the best tv performances regardless of the show or era. One of the most underrated composing duos ever. Although they didn’t write this one. They turned it into this.
If you are real fan of friends you should go out and buy some of this bands amazing albums not just listen to I’ll be there for you which They didn’t even write!! Amazing band
I was looking at what these guys also did besides the Friends theme and turns out they were on Letterman during his Late Night tenue in 1991 with Just The Way It Is, Baby. It's on UA-cam but in poor quality. Thought I'd let you know as you like uploading this stuff in high quality.
Thanks! That was April 24, 1991. It was their television network debut. Not yet digitized. They were also on Late Night on December 23, 1992, performing "Johnny Have You Seen Her."
Awww! They start playing the theme from one of the all time classic sitcoms! Too bad they finish it so quickly and then start the Friends theme... :-((
Here after news of Matthew Perry's death. What a talent and sadly, what a great loss, #RIPMatthewPerry, #RIPChandler 😭
Just had to watch this just after seeing the Friends Reunion
Me too 💖
I am so glad that they can actually play it and it sounds even better than the tv version. That solo was epic.
Phil's a great guitarist, really classy, I think it comes from the fact he was classically trained originally, he just plays a little differently to everyone else. Love it.
This is far better than the single they recorded, too.
ZEITLOS SCHÖNES LIED !! DANKE REMBRANDTS + FRIENDS!! GRÜSSE AUS BAYERN!!
So typical of music on Letterman. Probably the best live performance of this song ever given. Thanks, Don.
This is actually closer to the TV version than the CD.
Jason Nadle There was a difference?
@@Mediaright Yes. 2 different version. The intro version is just that short. Then they Record a Full version and released as a single that went no 1 on rádio. Different versions.
There is two versions
@Danoush【Rembrandt】 omg yes the lyrics are very different on that version!!!!
@Danoush【Rembrandt】 I never heard of that version before
I love that Paul and the band are singing along with this gem 💎
R.I.P. Mathew Perry 😢🙏🏾✝️
RIP MATTHEW PERRY FRIENDS FOREVER
Lol I love how they opened with the I Dream of Jeannie Theme just to throw everyone tf off.
This performance is great. Paul Shaffer and the gang never ceases to amaze me. And the Rembrandts are super good too. Reminds me of the performance with The Proclaimers.
The Rembrandts performed I'll be there for you on the late show on June 19th 1995 coolest song ever
There are 8 people singing into microphones on the chorus of this song. Drummer Anton Fig is the only one onstage not providing a backing vocal.
j'adore 👏👍🙏💖🌹🇨🇵
The day after I was born and they still killed it!
Before this these were in a band called, "Great Buildings". Their album, Apart From The Crowd, is incredible. Saw them a few times at the Whiskey back in the early 80's. Great voices and great guitars as well.
Our hometown celebrity Paul Shaffer is rocking out.Awesome
What an impact Paul has had on American pop culture, starting with Saturday Night Live in the '70s.
fantastic live performance !
Really polished... SOLID vocals... Two Rickenbackers... yay!
Looking at Letterman makes me realize how old this song is. Fuck, how old I am 🤣
I was 21 back then dude :D
Repose en paix Matthew 🥺🤘💙
1:02 Great live rendition of the legendary song. All that's missing is the👋👋👋👋

I was 18 years old at the time. What a glorious time!
You've been lucky!
Me too, helped me through first year of college
THANK YOU! I'm reliving my twenties as we speak. : )
N then i was born the next day 20 June 1995 !!!! ...... FRIENDS IS MY LIFE 💙
That guitar solo🤟
It's very tasty.
We need more guitars
You have to have two Rickenbackers for this song... And a nice touch to see a Hoffner bass thrown in.
a very great band and with paul and the orchestra we know its one of the best shows
So cool! Thanks for posting!
so classic and so legendary!!!!!!! this song is literally the g.o.a.t.
One the best tv performances regardless of the show or era. One of the most underrated composing duos ever. Although they didn’t write this one. They turned it into this.
One of the best bands on late night TV rivaled only by The Tonight Show orchestra.
I like it when they played I will be there for you the friends theme song - The Rembrandts
On my 5th birthday - what a great song!
Gives so lot positive vibe makes one dancing :-)

Sadness is after so many years they does not perform it with that much energy & spirit..😞😔

This was the day after I was born!
Bellissima che ricordi....
Was that the UK PM on bass?
If these kept the legal rights to this song, they are very wealthy musicians
WE WERE ON A BREAK!
Y pensar que en esta presentación del tema, "Friends" llevaba apenas su primera temporada... qué nostalgia oír este tema en vivo...😢😔😔
I wonder if when they wrote this, that they knew they were writing a masterpiece. ❤
Was that the UK PM on bass?
Anyone have a copy of their live performance of Someone? Can't find it here in youtube.
Goosebumps to hear it, like the song of the Beatles. 😢
It was inspired by The Beatles - Paperback Writer
It is the Beatles to Gen-X and Millennials who grew up watching "Friends" 😉
What is that intro that they play before the actual Friends song? It sounds familiar but I can’t pinpoint it.
I Dream of Jeannie theme song
Thanks!
If you are real fan of friends you should go out and buy some of this bands amazing albums not just listen to I’ll be there for you which They didn’t even write!! Amazing band
Do you happen to have a vídeo of their Performance at Inside Editions in the day of Friends finale
I don’t, sorry.
@CoD Rembrandt What I have of this song is here.
They must have the most guitars than in any other band
2019?
xD
Non ho mai visto " Friends " ma questa canzone mi piace molto
The guitar adds 10 pounds.....
Exactly how many guitars are there?
yes
If these kept the legal rights to this song, they are very wealthy musicians
I'm pretty sure someone else wrote it...it was in the news because she (the writer) died a few months ago
So rare you hear the song played and nobody does the four claps.
Deixou saudades esse seriado e essa música marcou gerações.
Friends brought me here
Manager -> "Everybody's gonna sing, yes I said everybody dammit. No exceptions."
Fail at the beginning 😂
😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
👏👏👏
😍
RIP MATTHEW PERRY
One word. Royalties......💷

Thanks for the tip!
There are more guitarist playing in there than the amount of money I have in my bank account
So that's what the world was like before I was even born...
Someone know why 4 guitars?)
Why not?
Brad Pitt during his singing career 😂
2020?
Xd
I never really heard the obvious Beatles influence before SEEING them.
oasis?
Definitely early/mid Beatles inspiration.
U don't found it accidentally,u searched for it
Awww! They start playing the theme from one of the all time classic sitcoms!
Too bad they finish it so quickly and then start the Friends theme... :-((
bands always brought their a-game to letterman :)
So Friends on CBS then
could be any more guitar
Not enough! :)
The guitarist looking like Brad Pitt b4 brad pitt
It was at the same time as BP, but yeah I noticed that too.
Not a fan of Friends, but this is one of the best TV Themes ever. Let the Rickys chime! Doss.
I didnt know. Brad Pitt has band
SpencerPalooza CD
No clap
Jamás imaginé que ese gran tema era de ellos. Creo que fue utilizada en una serie norteamericana. Creo que fue "Friend" o algo así.
