Can you, please, give a references to Royer's book, there you found this quote. I don't speak French and can't find, unfortunately
@@rexalifet9871 it’s on imslp, he has written a page at the back
@@charlesbluett8195 thank you
This is my 6 months old son absolute favorite video. When he is loud and unhappy I just play it, and he is forgetting about the whole world, just watching and listening XD
I can't get enough of this man's playing. So much passion and musicality, which is rare to hear in a world dominated by rather academic and cold interpretations of the music of centuries past.
I've always been the same, if you want to hear the music exactly how it's written download the midi file!
Are you talking about harpsichords or classic music in general? If the former, I don’t know. If the latter, I disagree.
I know this is an old comment, but bruh, literally in schools they teach how to play with "musicality" is important lol
@@HuaJinGenius like they teach them to make sculptures, but no one teaches them how to color those sculptures anymore
@@happysailormusica That´s true, this times musicality only consists of moving and making faces while playing, while there are people who express musicality other ways (like Heifetz)
Now THIS is Metal.
Metal AF 🤘
Do not compare that garbage with this.
@@gsm2424 no, it's metal af
For anyone who wants an excellently written harpsichord part in metal; check out Igorrr - IeuD
@@gsm2424metal isn’t bad as a classical lover i enjoy metal
He's making me finally enjoy the harpsichord, at last NOW I truly understand why that instrument was so popular before the piano
Well, at least before the piano(forte) there was no piano(forte). So you had to rock with an harpsichord. Really glad you get it now.
Jean Rondeau makes "boucan" from beginning to end. Kisses to him.
@@azurbtkl3901 Who is it for then, genius? Here's another idea : maybe go feel superior to somebody else 🥱
@@azurbtkl3901 Classical music is for everyone. Some people "don't like it" because they don't give it a real unbiased try.
He inspires ...so many people want to play harpsichord after listening to him, including myself, never seen that before...
I can relate so much with this comment
@@nothingisreal6816 Excellent musician always profoundly immerse into the author creation and bringing that beauty to us

I CAN FINALLY PLAY THIS AFTER TWO WEEKS WOOOHOOOOOO
Now I just need a harpsichord

This piece is so full of energy and virtuosity and Jean Rondeau only reinforce it.
I look forward to seeing you play this 😎
An 8-bit version would be the most badass classic console boss music.
Holy shit what an idea! We gotta get Anamanaguchi to make one!
Sounds already like a 8 bit version
This piece is incredible. Complex, multi layered. It has no equivalent in the harpsichord repertoire.
Breathtaking, insane, stunning, incredible, extraordinaire ... no words can describe exactly the piece and the pianist in this video.
the piece and the *harpsichordist in this video
@@ralphlyda4545Of course. But the similar word "Chembalist" is in the german language more common than this in english. (I am german.)
All right, this performance genuinely reached the inner core of my soul.
Cet artiste est magique! Jamais entendu plus belle execution
Jean is the master of this instrument!
I'm calling the police! This is an egregious case of Harpsichord Abuse! Poor thing got the hell beat out of it! Holy Cow. Utterly amazing. The sound board got a good exercise which will relieve inner stresses and give it a more beautiful tone over time. Mr. Rondeau is my new harpsichord crush.
I don't get how can someone criticize him. He's fabulous playing, and I seriously doubt that the critics can play better than him,
In my opinion the best interpretation out there.
Magnifique pièce et quelle virtuosité : bravo !
You are defentley the king of this instrument!!!!! I crying my heart out by listening to you!!🥲🥲🥰🥰❤️❤️🎹🎹
La musique plus fantastique du monde. Cette interprétation est très bien !
Unbelievable skills.
Soberbio ! Bravo !!!
Love the interpretation and music choices this man makes. He pushes in all sorts of directions to expand his and our understanding through music. In my small corner of the world he reaches me. Thank you.
I never heard anything like it! Absolutely fanrastic!
Next time: Jean Rondeau plays Rondeau by Jean Philippe-Rameau
This is so metal!
Ein super Stück ! Klasse interpretiert . Cembalo mit biss .
Genial Rondeau !
absolutely astonishing performance. Your virtuosity is phenomenal. With you the future of the cembalo/harpsichord is safe - never cease to be wild and please discover for us the fantastic repertoire of Royer, Scarlatti and others 0 off the beaten track. Thank you so much.
Bon jour ! Gratitude infinie !

Thanks for this posting. Amazing playing and musicality by Rondeau.I think this piece highlights the possibilities of the harpsichord as an instrument capable of delivering drama, joy, sadness, and intrigue feelings and a variety of emotions. Royer here, had a pinnacle of inspiration! wow!

¡Gracias!
