Hi! thank you for this useful video❤ I have some questions; where should I mention all the extra curricular and volunteer jobs I've done? Did you mention them in your motivation letter? a lot of things I've done aren't exactly related to the major I'm going to study, should I mention them anyway ?
I'd say that the person statement is the best for you to mention them since they are not related to the major and it won't make much sense to do so on the study plan.

Hola Vanessa! Como poder puedes aplicar y deberíaa de hacerlo con las notas de highschool si es a undergraduate que piensas aplicar. Pero ya que estas en tu último año de univeraidad yo te recomendaría que tal vez termines tu carrera primero en tu país y luego apliques para master en donde vas a tener mas probabilidades de quedar y además tendrás un nivel más alto de educación lo que te facilitará el encontrar trabajo. Porque tienes que tener en cuenta que si aplicas a undergraduate no puedes tener un bachelor's degree y por lo tanto tendrías que abandonar tu carrera y perder todo lo que has hecho durante estos años

I want to apply to GKS for undergraduate studies for fall semester but the application for GKS starts in September ( isn’t it too early before I graduate and before I get my university acceptance? )
You can only apply once you have your high school graduation certificate so you may have to wait one semester to be able to apply in September

There's many "theories" floating out there dur to the covid-19 situation but noting has been confirmed yet, so it is safe to think that everything continues as normal. BUT, just to be sure you always get the most up to date and trust worthy information I'd check on the studyinkorea website which is the offical site where all important notices are shared.

En mi país Bolivia primero para aplicar los documentos tienen que pasar por la EGPP y esta te pide como requisito ser mayor de edad, aun cuando no es requisito en la beca!! I'd be happy to tell you if I knew the answer but I don't have that information unfortunately. What I do know is that it will always better to present an international English certificate than none so if you have them make sure to add them and if not maybe its a good idea to take one of them

You can't have more than one study plan or overpas the length given so if you were to apply to different majors (which is not recommended because it is seen as indecisive and if there is a lot of competition they will most likely not choose you) you will have to somehow fit all the different aspects for each major in the same study plan.
Do you think I could still apply if my gpa for the first couple years was around 2.7 and my last year about 3.9? (I mean for high school btw)

Hola! Hasta donde sé no hay límite de edad para un mínimo. Siempre y cuando el aplicante tenga menos de 25 años y se haya graduado de secundaria/high school puede aplicar sin importar su edad. Este año hay dos chicas en mi universidad que aplicaron teniendo 17 años y cumplieron la mayoría de edad recién en enero, de casos de menos edad no he escuchado por no ser tan común haber terminado los estudios requeridos con menos de 17 años pero ya que los requisitos no dicen nada al respecto no creo que haya ningún incoveniente. Espero te sirva la respuesta!

En mi país (Perú) generalmente nosotros terminamos la secundaria a los 16/17 años, yo lo haré a los 16 y por eso quería saber si se podía o no aplicar a esa edad.

You will find out as soon as a month or as late as two weeks before coming to Korea both the uni you’ll be at and the plane ticket info.

I think in order to do a masters you need to have a bachelors degree. That’s the reason I couldn’t apply to the graduate program myself since I majored in English education and in my country that is not considered a bachelor but rather more like an associate degree of sorts. But if you want to be completely sure ask the embassy directly and they will be able to confirm

Secondly, I really wanted to know one thing, I graduated from school in 2019 and took a gap year to prepare for a national level exam but I wasn't offered the course I wanted , so will it be seen as a negative point?
Also, I heard majors from the natural sciences category especially the biology ones like microbio, genetics etc aren't really popular for scholarship programs so is there a possibility that I might not get selected because of taking biology as a subject?

As I always say it is impossible for me to know what your chances are. It depends on your overall application, the amount and preparation of other candidates, the preferences in major of your country and a lot more things. I can tell you I know a guy or two who are studying some biology related stuff through GKS program so it is a thing at least. Hopefully that help a bit

Hi thank you for this video i have a question if I’m applying as undergraduate and I’m confused about the TOPIK test do I need to take a TOPIK test in Korean if I am from the USA if so do we take the test in a Korea or should we take it before we apply??
Hi! The TOPIK exam is in Korean and you don't need to take it before coming here. It will certainly help you to have something to prove your level of Korean but it's not necessary since I was able to get here without it. I will probably do a video just about the TOPIK exam in the future because there is so much more to cover and talk about so stay tuned for that.

I don't see why you would have to do that. I mean, if you have any doubts it's better that you contact the university to clear them out but if not there's no need to contact them yourself. If there's anything that you need to know they will be the one to get in touch with you.

Hola tengo una preguntita. Las cartas de recomendación son escritas a mano o impreso y es una hoja? No especifica el número.
Para las cartas de recomendación no hay límite de hojas y tampoco se específica si debe ser impresa pero siempre es mejor presentarlas de esa forma que a mano ya que eso puede dificultar la comprensión del contenido

Hi, unfortunately this scholarship only covers those careers which length doesn't surpass the 4 year mark, therefore medicine is not an option since it lasts 6 years.

Check all past application forms available and if the recommendation portion doesnt change throughout the years go for it. If not I will wait until the official one comes out
Hey thank you for the reply although i have another question, sorry i am over asking i just really want to get this scholarship. So there is a part in study plan A of improving foreign languages (korean, English) before and after you come to korea. So my question is on the before coming to korea side, so can i write about how i have improved my English skills before coming to korea (ps. I’m from an English speaking country) or i should write about how i have been trying to learn korean. Which is a better idea to you? And which one will give me a boost? Will it also be risky to write about how i am trying to learn the korean language because i watched a video saying that one should not risk to write about how they are learning korean because they can ask you some things in korean during the interview. Don't worry, if you have questions feel free to ask them! I would mention about both. It is very likely that they ask you something in Korean during the interview so I'd recommend you at least learn how to introduce yourself or something basic because that will give you plenty more chances, so if you are trying to study Korean I think it would be a good idea to mention it

Does gpa more than 80% refer only to the final result of higschool/12 or of each last three years?
You need to have a grade AVERAGE of 80% or higher so that means the result of all three years combined

Yes, if are not to respect any of the guidelines your application may not be accepted so I wouldn't risk it. The English certificate (as any other) will of course boost your application

Also i have a question, " i have done my 10 from different school and 11,12 from another, and in our country ,we dont have semester vise that mean i have to include 10,11,12 marks and combine them.... like in each year our marks are from 500 that means 1500 for all three years... then i have to combine obtained marks out of 1500 and then convert them to Gpa......
You need the grade for your last 5 years of education. Doesn’t matter what that looks like in your country, one average grade per year. And then the overall GPA of all those 5 grades combined

It depends which route you choose. If you do it via embassy you have to give/send them the physical copy of everything. If you go through university track you have to send everything by mail to Korea directly. You can find all of the details on the www.studyinkorea.com website

Question! If they give you 900 won how much is deducted? How much money do you end up getting? I find this important because how else can you live there and I also wanted to ask if you could find a job in the university?
I didn't mention an exact amount on the video because that also depends on the university you get assigned for your language training course. In my case, dorm are. W 798.000 per semester, which ends up being a deduction of W 199.500 per month. Therefore the amount I get deposited per month is W 700.500

Hello! Would like to know whether lectures / tutorials were conducted in English? As I’m afraid my topik level may not be sufficient to fully understand a korean lecture yet..
That depends on your university and major (you can check on your university's website). However, most of your lectures will be in Korean even when sometimes they say it will be in English. It is hard to understand everything but you can make it work. Try to work as hard as you can during your language training year, most people who come without knowing anything of Korean achieve a TOPIK level 5 by the end of the year 😉

It’s exactly the same thing. KGSP is the old name of the program and GKS is the new one the changed to

Yes, 2 pages for the Personal Statement and 3 for the Study Plan, both one side only.
What is better embassy track or university track?
Depends on where you are from and how difficult it may be to get selected via embassy. However, if you are yet not entirely sure about what university you would like to attend I recommend you go though the embassy route since you have up to 3 university options to select.

The September period is only for Undergraduate and the one in February is only for Graduate. You have to apply in the designated period for your program.

How do I get a Visa for Korea?
Depends on the type of Visa you're looking for. If you come here to study you can get a student Visa that last the entirety of your stay without any problems.

Depends on which file you were looking at. The lists are different for both but since university track doesn't have many countries with reserved quota it probably was embassy track. I'll recommend you double check anyways!

If you can I'd recommend embassy track. Getting into SNU is hard not only because you need to have good grades, TOPIK score, etc, but also because they are very picky with the majors they accept students for. So if your plan is to apply for SNU I'd recommend embassy so if by any change they don't accept you , then you have 2 more unis as a backup plan 😉

I used to sub all the videos both in English and Spanish but it took a really long time to do and I didn't know it actually made that much of a difference so I stopped, but I will try to find some time to do so and assure all the videos from now on have subs if it really helps. Yes, most of GKS candidates who are selcted go either to the engeneering field or political science, international relations and all those related majors, so it is very possible to study that through the GKS program.

If you get the scholarship you will receive the same allowance as the other scholars regardless of your grades.
@@ForeignerHere if i understand you clearly regardless of your score you wont pay any fees(dormitory and tuition) and you will receive the same allowance once you get the scholarship
The tuition fee is always covered by the NIIED, however the dormitory fee is always deducted from your monthly stipend and how much that is depends on your university. The amount that does not change is the monthly stipend which is 900.000 in my case (undergraduate year 2020). The only score that can change how much you receive during the four years is whether you get or have TOPIK level 5 which will give you 100.000 extra every month.

I've been in orchestra since 5th grade, choir since 8th, I did theater 1 year(didnt have space in high school sadly- but I participated in musicals and plays), I did clubs book clubs(vice president), koop club, asian culture club(I'm indian living in tx #cowboy🤠😂), Thespian Club, Chess Club, I helped out at the school library( I was a library aid for 7th and 8th grade, but for 9 and 10th I didnt have a title but she let me help her anyway- check in and out books, organize, put them away, ect.), I did german language for 2 years. Is that like a good extra curricular to put? I'm currently a junior in high school(11th),-so orchestra and choir will be carrying on-, But will this get me noticed?(I Also been doing Pre-AP since 5th and currently I'm taking college(Dual Credit) classes l)
Undergraduate is more competitive than the graduate program and also depending on your county the thing may be different as well. If you go via university track and choose a rather "normal" or not-so-famous university your chances of getting accepted will be higher. Of course your grades and the major you want to apply to play a big role on that as well

It's the program for the ones that are going to complete their bachelors degree if you want to do your master or phd you need to apply on the graduate program
Is it obligate to get 90℅ in grades?
It is not mandatory but it will certainly help. Keep in mind that you do need to have an average higher than 80% to be elegible to apply.

Did ewha take an interview?
No, in my case none of the universities conducted an interview. I've heard is more common to have one if you are university track. Ewha asked for my portfolio and INU asked some questions via e-mail.

Were the questions essentially based on what you wrote in your submitted application forum and letter of recommendation / study plan etc... or were they questions generally related to why you chose korea and your interests and basically you as a human being?💜💜

On the GKS website it says, that it is “suggested” that you stay in the dorm during the language course. Is it really mandatory though? I’m asking, because my girlfriend is living in Seoul, and we of course want to live together (I want to study in Seoul regardless and won’t mention this during my application of course)
What I mean is, I think nobody can really force you to stay in a dorm if you can pay for a flat outside of the campus, right? Do you know of anyone that doesn’t stay in the dorm?

At least for us undergraduates the rules stated that during language training we must stay in campus but sometimes the rules are different for the people on graduate so you might be able to live outside. idk for sure tho so make sure to ask the embassy or sth if you want legit info
