Great video.. I was able to set prices on the 7up machine.. had trouble with the coke as others said it showed "error".. I'll try again see if by pressing 1st or 2nd selection works.. I have other dn coke machines that require a code to get in so I don't know if that might be the case... either way thanks Bill 👍

I actually have a big question. I watched the video where you fixed that older coke machine. You replaced the coin validator to digital. I watched a video of someone putting a bill accepter on an older machine, but how do you know which bill acceptor is compatible with the coin mech?

You should call United Changers Inc and tell them what model Coin Mech you have and they will guide you to purchasing the correct Bill Acceptor for it. You would need a 110 volt bill acceptor with the correct plug to interface with the coin mech...if your coin mech is compatible with a bill acceptor.

You rarely see them in Israel these days
they are present only in military bases, prisons and some companies who don't want or can't afford to upgrade to the new machines with the glass
They are still pretty common in the states...especially in outside locations.
This last week I reverse engineered the LED display module from a dixie narco 501e.. I am trying to see if i can get more information to display on it or at the very least add some kind of functionality to older machines that just have the correct change light in them. At this point though i have only figured out how to reproduce it and drive it, learned a lot from the unique design.

@@broken_font1881 Nah, I stopped using my instagram. The chip that drives the four 16 segment LED modules is a MM5451 and it's a very nice chip, it can be driven with any micro controller easily. The 16 Segment LED modules dixie narco used, hard to find the exact style they used but I did find very similar ones on mouser that are directly compatible. All I am looking to do is display the drink temperature, maybe the price and a short message.
@@pikadroo any guesses on how we can intercept the token reading from the coinco 9300 coin acceptor and feed the values to any microcontroller (I'm assuming we would be using a raspberry pi or an arduino)?

I tried to change the prices on my Dixie Narco 501, and when I pressed the blue button it never changed to HD on the display. Any suggestions?
Your door switch might be bad. Test it with a meter.
On my Dixie Narco 501e it doesn't go back to the program set price and HD it's stuck in one of the test modes where you test the pop buttons and pop comes out the next mode is the change see whatever c h cold in there but when you close it it still does not go back and only stays in those molds where you can drop the pops or you can do the change I can't get it out of there
maybe the door switch is bad? use a meter to test it.
What if I have one with a credit card reader (Nayax reader) how would I reset it if the card reader is ready but the machine is syncing with the reader ?
What do you mean by "reset it"? The card reader gets the price info from the machine control board...so once you set the price on the machine the cc reader should also get the new price.
Do you have a video for a dixie narco 501e says sold out but it's not.

I think the 276m is an older single-price machine...which means the price is set through the coin changer.
At 1:45 you state that after hitting the blue programming button the display will show HD as long as there are no errors. Mine unfortunately says error and doesn’t let me cycle thru the menus to set my prices. How do I clear the errors so I can set my prices? Thanks so much in advance. My son and I are just starting out his first business with this 276e and your videos are the best on YT for learning the basics.
Is the unit displaying any error codes...such as JC for jamed column? Or does it only display error? If it is showing error codes, you would just need to press any selection button to acknowledge the error, then it should go to the HD menu. If it only shows Error, the machine is probably a coke machine that has coke programming. My machine, although a coke machine, has a pepsi board and has the traditional SIID programming. If it is a coke programmed machine, try pressing the 1st or 2nd selection buttons to navigate to the different menus after pressing the blue programming button.
@@HappyVending it is just saying “ErrOr” and doing some reading after your response about it possibly being a “Coke programming Coke machine” not a “Pepsi programming Coke machine” seems confusing but accurate. I’ve looked up the “4 button Coke SIID programming manual” and will try again.

Question.. HD comes up but after hitting the top 2 buttons nothing is happening.. code 14760 pops up sometimes after the buttons are hit but nothing else happening
Are you sure you're holding the top two buttons down completely? Are your selection switches ok?
Hi there Bill! Very helpful video thank you! I know this is over a year after posting but I'm thinking you might have an answer here. When i press the the service button, there is no response from the lcd on the front. I'm wondering if I'm missing something silly or if there could be some failure? It seems to work all fine as previously programmed. The vending and coin counting all works fine for instance.
Try pulling out the white inner door switch. It gets pushed in when the door closes.
@@HappyVending hmm, there does seem to be some other mechanism or switch deactivating it when the door is opened more than maybe 2cm but this alone does not seem to account for it..

@@HappyVending nothing at all. It's completely off. It seems to power down completely when the door is partially opened. I noticed that when the door is about 3 inches out, it fades off as though the power to it is cut. So then when j press the service button it remains blank with no response at all
It could possible be that door switch is bad. Maybe you should try replacing it.@@LeeBotton

no...it can go much higher. I think it can go up to 99.99.

What errors is it showing? You should be able to press any selection button and it will acknowledge the errors and then go to the regular menu starting with HD.

Yes...with the proper shims you can.

Are you sure you have a Dixie 276 machine? That sounds like a password lock...but I don't think the 276e has a password option for the menus. What price is the machine set for? Do you have a free vend switch on the machine?

Once it shows error, it should display the error messages. What errors is it showing? J-C would mean jammed column.

Are you sure the error is CJ and not JC? JC is jammed column and you would need to unjam the column that it jammed, in your case column 4 and 7. Then just press any selection button on the display and it should go into your regular menu options.@@lennoxsmith4945

Check the cams and make sure the motors are homed. The switched should be in the indents of the cams.@@lennoxsmith4945
Hello, do you have any videos or info onThe Refund/Guaranteed Delivery Sensors or machines with Drop sensors?
I should probably do a video on that. I actually turn off the refund guarantee sensors on my snack machines because I avoid jams by loading it properly. I do have drop sensors on my Royals, but one has never gone bad on me. I actually purchased a spare drop sensor, but haven't needed it yet.
@@HappyVending Loading properly is the best way to go 👍🏾. My newfound interest in these sensors are just to ease the mind of an owner of 3 potential locations. His main concern is having to deal with people asking him and his staff for refunds. I was wondering if these things were any good, now im wondering more since you disabled them.
@@HungLoMein If you have good american made machines and you load them properly with the proper spirals for the products you're vending, jamming usually isn't an issue. I bought my snack machines used and the lenses on the sensors were broken and they had them deactivated. I decided to leave them deactivated and not worry about them. Maybe I will address the issues with them and get them working for a video.

Check to see if there are any bills jammed in the BA. Make sure the BA is getting power (look for lights on it). Does the coin acceptor still work? If you have an extra BA, try swapping out the one not working to see if it's just the BA.

these machines don't use passwords.
Why does that Dixie say intellevend 2000 and so does the royal machines?
It doesn't have anything to do with the manufacturer...it's just a coke designed label.
Hello. When i open the door and press the blue service button, nothing happens on screen. Nothing is shown on the screen when I open the door. Otherwice vendin machine works as it should, so it takes money and it vends it.
Any ideas what should I do?
I have tried the inner door switch with multimeter and it is ok. So when I close the whole door, screen lights up, and after "wait" message i can see one decimal point litten on the screen. When i open the door it first says "COLJ", and then screen shuts down. Opening and closing the inner door does nothing. Also pushing or pulling the inner door switch does nothing.
Is there another sensor for the bigger door?
Try pulling out the door switch. If the door switch has no effect on what the machine does, it probably needs to be replaced.
Sometimes you have to press the mode switch down really hard, till you see it display HD. Sometimes these switches wear out and you just have to press press down a lot harder than normal

I buy a lot of my parts direct from Crane or Royal Vendors. I also get parts from dsvending and vendors exchange.
@@HappyVending ok cuz I decided 2 change out all my Vending switches all 8 of them cuz most of the sections have a slow delay reaction b4 it drops the product

That sounds like an old machine so it is probably single price without a control board. That means you need to set the price using the dip switches on the coin mech.

@@osoman818 I know someone who used parts from a newer machine to convert an old machine into multiprice, but it's really not worth the trouble. Just find a dixie 501 or a royal g3.
@@HappyVending a location I'm talking with is trying to get rid of a 501 actually. They says compressors, Bill validator and no lock are it's issues. Not sure how much to offer. Any idea? Located in CA
@@osoman818 Well...a rebuilt compressor and bill validator will set you back around 500....so I would try to get the machine for around $250 to $300. It doesn't hurt to shoot low...they can always counter at a higher number. Is this a 501e?
Hey im having the same issue. I see HD on display but when I hold down top two selections it’s not changing. I just was able to vend a soda so the buttons have to be working. Any help please & thanks. I have a Dixie narco but im not sure model.
If you just press selection button 1 when HD is on the display, does it enter the HD menu?
Hey thanks for the quick response. When I press the blue button hd shows up, i tried 1 button alone nothing changes 2 buttons either. It won’t cycle past hd. No error msgs either. But what I did notice while vending is that my slots aren’t matching my selection buttons. When I press the 4th button down a soda will come out of the 6th or 7th slot. 1 and 2 slots are coke & sprite they vend from correct buttons, but everything else is kinda outta wack
@@MJ-sb8kk It sounds like the space-to-sales is messed up on the machine. You could try unplugging the machine...pulling out the backup battery off the control board....let the machine sit for 10 minutes, put the battery back in and plug it in. That's how I do a complete reset on my Royal machines. Your space-to-sales should go back to normal...and maybe you will be able to enter the programming menus again. It's worth a try.

Ok I see “ss-1 ss-3 ss-5”. So when you say unplug the backup battery I see something on there that says disconnect stack plug before removing cover. I don’t want to electrocute myself so I think I’ll leave this be 😂😂😂

Are you sure it's a Dixie 276 and not a Royal giii?

Find out what the error is and check to see what the problem is....then clear the errors.

Do you have a Royal Machine? Error is the first of the menus. Press the second selection button to get to the other menus.

What happens when you only receive an error message?
You attend to the error...clear the jam, etc.

@@theretiredmonster It's just telling you that you are in the "error" menu...but if it doesn't list any errors after you enter the error menu, then there are no recorded errors. So you probably have nothing to worry about.
