- M7 lovers delight. Also lots of diesels including light engines, NY&A freight, Laser Train, and many passenger trains. Did get an M9 at the end. Heavy duty action on this superbly engineered triple track.

Always a great show, this one is really good... love the intro, the narration, and the picture and sound quality! It's still a great marvel for me to see how the LIRR has greatly expanded over the years! Thanks for the effort. You're PUTTING ON A GREAT EXPERIENCE FOR VIEWERS....
Thanks again!
Nice video's from the Roosevelt L.I Kidd😊
So glad to see the Mineola station coming along great!!! Carle place looks great too!!!
Damp and dreary is appropriate for Pearl Harbor Day and the tragic event that day in 1941. I was a 4 month old and my Dad was in Chicago on business. Thanks Tim for a nice view of the new third track😀💚
I love 💘 it from David steiner
Tim, thanks for going out in the elements so much lately! Seems like we need to get you a "RRHG" poncho or raincoat!!! As a LIC/Queens Resident here, thanks again for letting me "visit places" without having to leave home! -SR
Where you were set up on the Mineola platform used to be the truck yard for my family's business from the 60s into the 90s. As a kid I loved sitting on the loading dock watching the trains go by, but once I was old enough to drive, the traffic was brutal. Nice to see the progress the LIRR has made.
Were those the Fruit Trucks? I remember seeing them. There was a train siding which turned off of the Oyester Bay branch right before Mineola. I use to see it in the 1980s when it looked active. But not after the 80s.
I enjoyed, as usual, your great camera work and narration.
i’m usually here on Wednesdays and I would’ve seen you! too bad I wasn’t this week
Nice video. This video also proves that the LIRR only cares about the South Shore more than the mainline when it comes to M9s LOL.
Sometimes there are M9’s on the mainline quite a bit. It’s the luck of the draw
your kidding right i see them out of ronkonkoma often
I have seen the crap metal train on the metro north New Heaven line. Thanks sir
655 actually doesn't go to Long Island City he's the only one that doesn't go there. He actually goes to Hunterspoint Avenue.
Nice. I’d like to get out and see the entire reconfiguration of that whole line soon
Why not save the fuel if a 3rd rail is available for those maintenance units? Since the diesel is burned to drive generators to power the drive motors, it seems superficially to be a waste. Can they units be adapted for direct use of the power rail?
I wonder why they didn’t just add a switch off track 1 for eastbound Oyster Bay. Then they just switch those trains to track 1 west of Mineola so it only has to cross track 3….?
Thanks for all the video work and info. I’m hooked.
Good job from David steiner I love it 😀 👏
Bummer none of the older M3 train sets were running that day
Nice would like to see more on freight movement on LI
The laser train uses 2 retired M3's right or is 1 of them an M1?
I think M3’s
Will the Montauk branch ever have a double track between Sayville and Montauk? And who's spaghetti and meatballs and the flying Yankee??? Cool names.
I don’t see the double track on the near future. Those are nicknames for those engineers. One is based on Italian ethnicity and the other is based on him running fast and being a Yankees fan.
@@3985uprr awesome
That’s What I’ve Been Saying For Years
The sound heard on the M7 is actually the DC to AC power inverters using Insulated gate bipolar transistors better known as IGBT. The traction motors are AC but third rail is DC. This sound can be heard on most modern MU cars including newer subway cars. The inverter and AC motors reach efficiency levels greater than DC motors can provide with better speed control and lower maintenance and better life. Too bad the power inverters are so noisy.
I enjoy the noise. Makes them sound like starships
i doubt GCT is opening this year lirr has been dead silent now
How many carts are on this train 🚆🤔
I'm surprised no M7s went on the Oyster Bay Line.
They’d only go to East Williston. I think when Grand Central opens up, they will revive the East Williston mu
@@3985uprr on the draft schedules that are suppsoed to be out soon there is one MU set for early am rush hour out of east williston
Or M9S
Im theory how many cars can be on a diesel trains?
Cannonball in summer has 12. One can pull up to 6
Just A Heads Up 656 is from Long Island City To Port Jeff
Well Hunterspoint Avenue is in LIC. 😀😀Seems like more is running out of LIC
@@3985uprr 656 always comes from long Island City 2712 is Hunterport Ave
@@FrankClampet I’m with the mindset of years ago when only 2 Oyster Bay trains ran from LIC
@@3985uprr 560 is one of them 566 is Hunterport Ave
I would personally rank the M7s lowest of the NYC's area MUs.
