Most people live in denial concerning these things. They hear about it on the news but believe it will never happen to them,. Funny thing is these same people are so concerned about mass shootings they are willing to vote away their and the rights of others to defend themselves. You have a better chance of being struck by lightning than being a victim of a mass shooting while being shot in a simple one on one crime happens everyday. If there is a single act of violence it's a tragedy, if it happens everyday it's a statistic.

I've shot someone, but they didnt die. I was young and dumb I was carrying ball ammo, I just didnt know better. At the police station I asked the investigator if the guy made it, he said if I were using hollow points he wouldnt have made it to the hospital with a pulse. Anyways I've thought less about it over the years but the dreams dont go away. Sometimes they are skewed, one night I feel like a murderer, and some I feel like I did just fine, or that I should have shot him more because he and his family attempted to sue me into poverty. Getting drug through the court system sucks

Dear Sir, I have so much to say I can’t put it all into this text. I worked at a convenient store that cashed payroll checks. and on January 13 of 2015 three men came into my store withGuns blazing two made it in the store. I drop them where they stood and the other one was arrested later that evening. I feel terrible that they put me in the position that I had to defend myself. I relive that moment every night in my dreams. But I would do it again to save myself and the customers that were there that night.

This man did most everything he did properly He gave each thug a serving before going around to deliver seconds. And he properly delivered a serving to the second thug even though no weapon was visible. He continued to fire until both threats were neutralized.
This man should not feel bad about his actions. No telling how much grief he spared others in the future by removing the two from society. They could have gone on to rob and kill scores of others. He didn't plan on shooting anyone that day. He was forced into an impromptu gunfight, and was the Victor despite the odds against him. He should feel proud to have prevailed.

Those who have been tested under fire seldom pound their chest, unlike the armchair quarterbacks and drugstore cowboys who talk like they would be Rambo if given the opportunity. I have observed the phenomenon of shrinking courage, and have personally been left standing alone when others should have been by my side. (I do not mean to imply that this happened in combat, although I did serve.) There certainly are bold and outspoken people who do rise to the occasion, but they seem to be the exception. Now consider this man: humble, reserved, and a force to be reckoned with when duty calls. You are so right when you say, "Pray it doesn't happen to you," and yet I expect you know and accept the responsibilities that you could someday face. In my foolish youth I wanted (but was spared) the ultimate conflict. Now I pray (literally and specifically) that I never have to take another man's life.

Thank you for your service sir, and thank you for sharing this event. I pray for The Lord’s blessings to help all involved in dealing with it.
By sharing, there may be several lessons learned, such as
    1) anti-gun people, what could’ve happened if you had your way?
    2) those that cant see the value of human life, lots of people are affected when just 1 person looses their life, but the difference here is the preservation of life.
    3) The more criminals that hear your story the better, maybe they’ll change their mind when they realize this could happen to them
And many many other life lessons as well. Hopefully this goes viral because I think everyone in the USA could learn something from this accounting.

You are correct to shoot till the threat is no more.
There is no substitute for a combat mindset and perfect training. Drawing and moving off the X gives you an incredible advantage. Action always beats reaction and I have found criminals love to run their mouth...if you are talking, you aren't ready to fight. You should always look for an opportunity to act but that opportunity may never come and you have to act in a second.
If you can quickly present your weapon while moving and accurately shoot...very few criminals stand a chance.
Those are odds I am willing to bet my life on...the other choice is to depend on the mercy of the bad guys. That is never an option.

      @lazurm 5 років тому

@aerodog2 Your seemingly paranoid explanation doesn't hold water and there's no evidence that it does, except what you have read or constructed to be the truth.
The Democrats and some Republicans feel that the following items (and others) will reduce deaths by gunfire: making stricter laws regarding the time period of waiting (so that a thorough background check can be completed), eliminating AR15s and the like so that these highly effective weapons are less likely to be used in mass killings, preventing those that appear to be dangerous and armed from using their weapons (legally obtained), applying the rules of gun purchasing to gun shows so to eliminate an easier way to obtain these weapons and more.
I believe that, though these rules may have some effect, they are, for the most part, misinformed for many reasons: a large number of deaths by firearm is due to suicide and gang/drug related activities. The weapons have been either legally obtained (usually, well before the actual suicide and, therefore, outside the range of these well intended legal suggestions) or illegally obtained in which case mere laws most probably won't work as they haven't done so to date because criminals will be able to bypass them.
Though some , and in a few districts many, Democrats (and some Republicans) want to confiscate or make it ridiculously difficult to legally obtain guns their reasons don't have to do with not allowing the public to protect itself from "big government" but, rather, from protecting oneself from criminals and other people with ill intent.
I think the intent of reducing gun related criminal acts is something almost all of us could agree to, the question is HOW CAN THAT BE DONE without issuing more guns as the solution?
