Toyota are being super stupid not releasing the I-road. It's a bit slow and ideally it needs to have a little bit more range for where I live, but I'd buy one without delay just as soon it becomes available nonetheless. It needs a towhook for a small trailer to take the shopping and a small range-exnding battery. Please stop teasing us Toyota.
I'm ok with iRoad so narrow like a motorcycle that can fit in between traffic and not hard to get parking. That Tril is just like a small car still have to deal with traffic which is the reason iRoad was invented
The problem with the i-Road is that is purposely limited to a top speed of 28 miles per hour to meet safety standards in Europe and Japan. That is too slow for USA driving.
While it might be technically superior, It's absolutely butt UGLY. Personally I'd would never be seen dead getting in or out of one of these. Also I would need a full bore PR campaign to persuade me that it would respond correctly to my EVERY command. On the other hand I'd love an iRoad. PLEASE, PLEASE sell me one.

Okay, so I know this is a concept, and therefore a platform to show off ideas, but while I can appreciate the value of a compact electric vehicle for short trips, I don't want it to be "smart", I want it to be dumb as a rock and about as rugged and reliable as one too. Also, while the iRoad stuck to the core concept, and added a fit of fun and novelty into the mix, the iTri looks to be a dull as dishwater small car, with none of the fun and none of the advantages of a narrow, nimble vehicle.

In the USA you do NOT need a helmet for the i-Road. It is considered an AUTOCYCLE.
