On our 23 day transpacific with Royal we ordered room service every morning. It just seemed to work better in getting out of bed, eating, THEN getting ready for the day before leaving our room. We just ordered light ... coffee, fruit, and yogurt type of thing - just enough to feel better about not having to get presentable just to get a coffee even
Just found this 3 year old vlog. So thankful for this information. The unspoken rules of room service on Royal Caribbean are soooooo important to know. Especially call room service desk to remove the trays and drink packages is not included on beverages delivered. Thanks, You are so thorough and helpful!
Great tip Sheri; thank you! Although it was with NCL and not Royal, we found that ordering room service for breakfast saved us a lot of time on "port of call" mornings. We were able to place our order the night before and schedule a specific time for delivery; talk about a quick and easy breakfast option when you're attempting to get ready for that day's shore excursion!
Royal has the same thing on offer, and actually delivers a little breakfast menu to the stateroom every night expressly for this purpose. It's how we do breakfast on port days too!
We ordered room service on our last night and found out that we really missed out on great food. We were too tired to go to dinner and plus we had to pack up so room service was our last resort for food. What a mistake! Everything was so delicious.
I love room service on my RC cruises in the past. It's been 13 years since I last went and back then it was 100% free. But I loved having breakfast delivered to my room as a wakeup call. After my first meal, I learned the portions were a bit small for my taste so I just doubled up lol. I have my next cruise in December, and I'll def do it even with the $8 fee. Especially breakfast, as long as my girlfriend doesn't mind 😂
I agree with the Room Service fee being worth the money. In March I was on Symphony of the Seas. We ordered a full Pizza, Wings, Dessert and a Cheeseburger. I thought this food was the best food on the ship!
WOW, the room service menu and the actual food was amazing!!! Much better than Princess and Carnival for sure! We are searching for a Royal Caribbean cruise and are excited to view these vids!
Thanks for the info!! Will be on Enchantment Of The Seas in May. After a day at Mr Sanchos (Clearing throat) I may not be in “condition” to stagger to the Dining Room.
brad hyman my boyfriend and I went to Mr Sanchos when we cruised in Oct. We struggled to get through dinner. We even tried to go to a show, but had to leave because we just couldn’t do it 🤣
We usually only order room service for breakfast. We fill out the card the night before and enjoy coffee and a Continental breakfast on our balcony with the sunrise and pulling into a new port.
Thanks for the tips! Do you mind making a video on your experience at the spa on any Royal Caribbean cruises if you've ever used their service? Thanks so much in advance!
Stacy L. They have totally revamped the menu room service used to be items that were offered on the promenade but now the items are a totally different new menu just for room service
went this summer out of Amsterdam and they charged 9.99 + 19% tip. The menu wasn't like in this video and you couldn't order from the tv. It only had like 10 items for breakfast and 6 things for lunch/dinner. Was a very basic menu. And it's the only way to get food after 11pm to 7am on the boat we were on.
RC was the best cruise I've been. Sad that i wasnt rich enough to go on longer trips. Couldn't get to taste everything they offer. And the fact that you can just bring food from any of their eateries back to ur room. If i wont the multimillion lottery i would love to live on their cruise ships for a year traveling. Room service was great. I have some bathroom pet peeve and the guy serving didn't make me feel weird for asking for more floor mat(needs to be dry). I had internal struggle when i have to ask for cleanup. To my surprise, he replaced exactly the amt of floor mat in their origianal locations. Im only a normal balcony customer not suite or whatever and got such treatment.
Hey great video as usual all the food and presentation looks great I was on harmony of the seas earlier this year in January and I enjoyed the Caesar salad, the royal burger, and the hotdog you’re away and the nominal service charge fee is not a problem and I think it helps prevent food waste. Keep those videos, Vlogs and great cruise tips coming thanks again happy holidays
Great video, appreciate all the good info, you look so tired sweetie, hope your resting well, anyways thank you thank you for taking time out for review 💕
I’m just curious - there’s already an 18% gratuity. Did you add more when he handed you that piece of paper? If so, what do you suggest is a fair amount?
That guy was really really really cute. That's the whole reason I tapped on this video, lol. My fiancé is Indian, also, and I CAN'T WAIIIT to meet him and see him 😍😍😍😘😘😘😋
Pre breakfast to have on balcony. Need food for pills, at least that was my excuse. Always got yogurt and a danish and coffee and juice. Even the cruise we didn't have a balcony a nice way to wake up and hubby could relax with coffee while I showered.
breakfast on the balcony is THE BEST! our last cruise, the weather wasn't always nice in the morning so we were only able to do it once or twice on our 7-night sailing. It was a bummer because we LOVE staring over at the water or port while we sip OJ out of wine glasses. lmao
Thank you for this! I was wondering how it works. This is actually a pretty good deal. I’ll definitely use this after my first night of being drunk on my a**. LOL!
How does it work when you’re going with two friends in the same room one is going down to the dining room and the other one month room service. Who’s car does that get charged to?
I guess you get what you pay for. We travel Azamara - Royal Carib's upper tier. I don't know if you can order via TV, but there is no surcharge, ever, or tipping. Very broad selection of food, from shrimp platters, to cheese platters, to burgers, pasta, salads. AND, when it arrives, there is a table cloth put down, meals are plated out for you. Sadly, I've been spoiled, and refuse to travel any other way. (Yes, there is a liquor charge in the room, even though alcohol is included throughout the ship at the bars, or in the dining areas.)
I remember when RC had no charge for room service. It’s still worth the 7.95 to have it delivered. No matter what you order everything come hot/cold and delicious.
I have no issue with the $7.95 charge +Gratuity for the service. Always wondered why it was free when it is an added service. I do NOT to this day agree with the auto-gratuities (tips) added to your cruise. When I first started cruising back in 1990, we always allocated cash we brought with us and on the last night of the cruise, give those envelopes to crew we dealt with on a daily basis during our cruise that we felt deserved it like waiters, assistant waiters, cabin stewards and the Maitre D'. It felt more personal. Now, the crew just expect it automatically and I have noticed a decline in service since. Sure, you can wait in mine at the customer service/pursers desk to remove individual tips but why should I have to work on vacation?
If you just order the continental breakfast is it customary for them to leave it outside your door or or you can ask for that ? Would e nice to have that ready for you when you wake up.
Can you elaborate on what you mean by “higher quality of food”? It can’t be better than what’s served at the specialty restaurants, or in the MDR which is already included in the cost of the cruise.
Higher quality than some cruise lines “free” room service. The fact that they include more variety - hot food, salmon, pasta, etc makes it more “worth it” vs. the only option being low quality room service items. I would agree it is not better than the MDR and buffet, but it’s certainly nice if you don’t want to leave your room.
CruiseTipsTV oh, right! I didn’t think about comparing it to the quality and variety on other cruise lines. Sometimes it is nice to just have a night in, especially on longer cruises, and I’m happy to hear RCCL maintains good quality food for such occasions. Thank you for elaborating. :D
@@CruiseTipsTV when you spoke on "better quality of food" I took it to at least mean that, it was far better than self-serve buffet options, where it's been all picked through. The presentation was certainly better! For what you ordered, just TRY to haul all of that food and beverage back to your room by yourself or even with the hubby!!! You're on a cruise, that was $10 bucks well spent!!!

They ask that you call them to pick them up. they may sometimes instruct you to leave them outside the door, but it is a danger to others, so usually, it's best to call.
