Don't sell yourself short. With that variety of available toppings (not to mention some of the other entrées), you could get creative and make some seriously grown-up gourmet burgers and hot dogs. 😋
Hello... thanks so much for your videos, my wife and me already planned a cruise for theis year on abril aboard of Oasis of the seas and is very helpfull to be in knowledge abput what to eat... very nice job!
I was so happy they encourage everyone to wash their hands, or use hand sanitizer prior to entering the buffet. Glad RC is trying to keep everyone healthy.
The Windjammer Marketplace Buffet has so much food to choose from. Its has different kind of desserts, main dishes, soups, breads, drinks etc. This is amazing.
We were on the inaugural sailing of the Allure from Galveston, lovely ship, we did the Windjammer but found lunch in the Solarium was much more enjoyable most days or the small cafe in Central Park. We have been sailing exclusively on Royal since 200 1 on all the ships out of Galveston and what I miss most as far as food items go, is the Honey Stung Chicken on Embarkation day. Very nice video thank you for sharing.
Our pleasure-thank you very much for the comment! 😊 We also like the solarium buffet and the Park Cafe. Haven't tried the Honey Stung Chicken- sounds tasty!
Everything looked good but the cream puffs and bread pudding desserts really caught my eye. 😁 It’s always nice to try new foods when on a cruise and Royal Caribbean is very good about variety. Thanks for the video!
I've only sailed on Princess & RCL but am I crazy, why are all the baked items so good? Always !! Not even the supermarket has baked foods that good except maybe Cosrco ;-)
The desert offering look better in the buffet than the main dining room. Are you able to go to the buffet after dining in the main dining room r do you choose one per day
You sure can go to both. For dinner the buffet does close at 9 PM, but if you finish your main dining dinner before then you can certainly head on up to checkout the buffet.
I cant believe people are crabbing about the food. What more can they offer? It all looks amazing. I guess these people go to high end resturants nightly. I live near NYC and get to go to some of the best resturants in the world so it's not like I eat at Golden Corral. Lmao. These buffets look amazing. For anyone complaining, just don't cruise.
Oh gosh the last time I went to a Cruise it was back in June 2008 this was when I was dating someone seriously during that time and he took me on a 7 days Cruise at Royal Caribbean leaving from Puerto Rico, I ate like crazy person at the Lunch Buffet 😋
What do you do with your plate when you’re done eating? I remember someone saying you don’t reuse the same plate when getting seconds, so what do you do with it once you’re done eating or want to go back for seconds?
Another great video. Actually, I thought that the food looked very good and pretty consistent with what I saw on Liberty of the Seas in May 2022. It certainly looked better than what I saw on NCL recently.
yummy delish. variety and many items from days gone by, but still delish...chicken a la king; waldorf salad; jello. i saw a mutton dish. lots of curries. i hope not spiced hot hot hot.
Just got off of Allure April 30. Quality and quantity of lunch offerings are small compared to years gone by. Wouldn’t be surprised if the choices are reduced again to BLT’s or PBJ’s. Sad times we live in. Most folks are willing to accept lower standards.
Are there no specialty coffee options at Windjammer on Allure of the Seas? I had Starbucks (proudly serving = included with my drink package) every morning at the Windjammer on Ovation of the Seas last week and I am trying to figure out if that option is available on Allure. I can't seem to find the answer.
were kosher meals easily identified? especially for the meats? I'm going on an rcl cruise in the summer and I can only eat kosher, i emailed rcl dietary but they haven't gotten back. all this food looks so good! hoping i can eat them...
They was no Kosher indication- we only saw labels like gluten-free, vegetarian or vegan, no-sugar added, contains nuts or pork. You can order kosher meals but they cost extra daily and you would have to let Royal Caribbean know well in advance. This flyer has more info: creative.rccl.com/Sales/Royal/Misc/Yeshiva_Week_2022_TradeFlyer.pdf
If you are expecting a cruise ship to serve you Kosher foods as a matter of course, that is really unrealistic. That would require a full Kosher kitchen under rabbinical supervision. Or they would do what many Jewish hospitals in the US do - serve pre-portioned frozen entrees which would be rather disappointing. As noted below, you need to look for special cruises around the holidays that offer a separate menu.
Great effort! The buffet items looks more watery instead of the creamy texture🤔. The Asian stir fry noodle is a joke…says a lot about the Yes man working for the executive chef🙄.
Ive been on so many RC ships since the restart. Theyve definitely dont have as much variety since i cruised in 21', saw less variety in 22', bht since their new dinnjng room menu i see even less variety where there only one buffet "island" that has all the food. After eating the bread pudding everyday on the Symphony i was bummed to not see it on the voyager even though i checked.
Do they not have any pizza or sandwiches at the lunch buffet? You can get them in the Promenade of course but would have thought it was here also. Rather have a grilled chicken sandwich than a hamburger. Cannot understand why there is no turkey. A turkey sandwich would be fine. Way too many stews and curries. It seems obvious high food prices are taking a toll on the buffet. Thanks for your videos.
I cannot overstate the importance of good food on cruise ships! While Most of these offerings seem a little ho-hum, I think I can make the best of it when I go next month. I remember the cherry custard tart from my voyage on the Oasis back in 2019. I think that was my favorite Windjammer dessert. In fact, I still have a picture of it saved in my iPhone! One extremely memorable dish I do not see here is beer-marinated chicken. Holy Moses, the flavor was insane!!! This video is so encouraging, because - even though the offerings have changed - I see quite a few things here I know I would enjoy. Namely the "shrimp spread." I would have to spread some of that on some yummy bread and have a blast. I really like seeing they have some carved beef offerings. When I cruised on Princess last November, their buffet included a *chateaubriand* which is an enormously expensive piece of meat, so I was surprised to see it at the buffet. Butter chicken with nan sounds very comforting to me, as does the mutton stew. And of course, most of the desserts here look tempting to me. Of course, none of this seems to compare with buffets the other cruise lines are offering, but I think I may be able to manage this. Late next month, I will be sure to upload some video footage of my food experience and tag you guys in the video so you can see my play-by-play take on what I think of Royal's food. My Western Caribbean cruise on the Harmony is booked for the end of April.
Yeah that shrimp spread seemed interesting and unique. Sounds like Princess still has some good stuff at the buffet- we hope to cruise with them again, maybe this year. Thanks for the comment! Look forward to seeing your videos- have a wonderful time! 🙂
@@carystevensky I cruise alone, and I’ve really enjoyed it. For me, it’s worth it. Some people prefer an all-inclusive resort, but for me cruising has been fine. I enjoy waking up to a different port every morning. If you haven’t gone, I would recommend sailing at least once. Check out what all the different cruise lines have to offer and find out what suits you. If you like a *lot* of energy, Carnival is a good one. However, if you like a more traditional cruise experience, then Princess is great. Holland-America is even more traditional. If more of a flashy resort feel “floats your boat,” (pun intended), then Royal Caribbean is fabulous. Norwegian is a good mix of either one.
I imagined this buffet to be bigger. I wonder if the choices are kept to a minimum to encourage people to use the specialty dining options more. On the smaller ships that have fewer specialty dining options, does this buffet offer more choices, or you just have fewer choices overall for the cruise?
@@Ruespieler I think the Windjammer is bigger on the Oasis class ships. When I was on the Harmony back in April, the buffet was big, but nowhere near the variety or the quality I remember. For instance, the breakfast buffet used to have myriad varieties of doughnuts. Now there is a small selection of maybe 4 of the most common and boring varieties. I could not believe how low the quality was in the Windjammer that sailing. Royal Caribbean says they’ve scaled down on the quantity in order to reduce food waste, but I’m not convinced that is the only reason. Bottom line: I find myself disappointed with Royal Caribbean’s buffet in all categories. Princess does way better, and so do NCL, Holland America, and Celebrity.
We enjoy your videos. Please note, officially, the pandemic isn't over. I would guess there is a percentage of cruise travelers that have contracted the virus. My daughter attended a wedding and contracted the virus and in turn gave us the gift that keeps on giving. This was 5 weeks ago. Please keep your hands clean, etc, especially during these cruises, to reduce the risk!
sir slice, the good news is that the staff continues to wear masks and there are employees at the entrance to every restaurant, including the buffet-deck, pointing guests to sanitisers (or even applying it for them) in addition to the handwashing stations on many ships (e.g., Holland America Rotterdam).
@@TravelTouristVideos Many protocols are no longer mandatory in most places, but they remain highly recommended in crowded indoor spaces e.g., flights, airports, embarkation, disembarkation, queues, showrooms, etc. It takes little to no effort or cost to continue practise mask-wearing, handwashing, and physical distancing.....but can prevent a lot of diseases and infections that otherwise abound. Being sick is a terrible thing after spending thousands of dollars on a vacation!
I actually like the buffet food. But the reason I never go - - crowd. Many of them are zoo animals and it's hard to navigate. Appreciate your videos - - you focus on the FOOD and not a bunch of dumb graphics and annoying music. Really really helpful
Sad there's no Crab Legs or Cocktail Shrimp The only thing i'll load up on from their menu's prolly Roast Beef and Roast Pork Loin, there's like beef stews from 4-5 different cultures, but the beef stew at 8:22 & 9:54 looks really delish.... Where's the Crème brûlée
This is not what I experienced. I was on a chartered cruise and the food was a hot mess in the windjammer. Too much flour in the pound cake. No seasoning. Curry? Dried beef stew. BBQ grilled pork loin? Custard pies? Fruit was not ripe. Do yourself a favor and order a specialty restaurant package or eat in the main dining room. Chefs table was the BEST!!! I would recommend not allowing other customers to use staircase near the chefs table. A guest tripped down the steps.
11:21 adding feta cheese and black olives doesn't turn any food to greek food😂😂 also adding garlic and basil doesn't turn the dish to Italian food either😂
Windjammer on radiance was awful compared to the main dining room. The food "looked" good but was bland with almost zero seasoning. Almost like they didn't want to offend people with some salt! Always go main dining if you can

Royal Caribbean buffets are always excellent with a wide range of dishes.

💯Kudos to the hard working chefs, cooks & other crew members in the galley!

Such a great selection of food. Thanks for showing this!
Our pleasure! 😊 Yeah they had a good selection, and we enjoyed many of the offerings they had as well 😋
I liked the burgers and hot dogs, I'm a child when it comes to food. A lot of the foods looked delicious.

Yeah they had some misses, though in general it was a pretty good buffet
The best feature is the hand washing station
Is there an easy way to identify the Gluten Free options at the Buffet?
Yup- the staff puts in parenthesis "Gluten-Free" on those white labels above the dishes on the glass.
Is this menu standard on all their ships?
It should be quite similar except for a few regional dishes depending on the itinerary
