Excellent idea as these connectors are a weak point. Several times on liftoff, my FW450 v.2 has lost GPS and suddenly the heli seems like it is in 3D mode. What a handful getting it back down safely. Secondly, had trouble FINDING the satellites getting ready to fly because one of these wires is not making proper connection. Sealing the connectors as you've shown and a zip tie or two around the wire/tailboom completely solved this. (And since I've adapted a shiny, scale Hughes 500 fuselage wrapped around the mechanics, really do not want any connection failures leading to an expensive crash! Thanks so much for posting this.
Good information thank you for making this video. I had bought one of these H1 gps for a 700 size heli I haven't installed mine yet. I'll definitely keep this in mind before I do.
I was searching to see if this could be used with an Ibus receiver and instantly found my answer. You also opened my eyes to two unknowns. The first was that there is an H1 lite and secondly the connection issue. I am looking to upgrade my Kbar to this
Roy, Perhaps you can help. I have a Flywing Bell 206 with a tail motor problem. How can I get to the set-up page that indicates that the Motor is selected rather than the Servo.
My brand new V2.5,after initial setup and compass calibration,5 min. test flight👍,next day went to fly again and only got flashing yellow light ,would not turn green, the plug inside the GPS module came loose, had to remove the GPS module to expose the plug, plugged it back in then put some gorilla tape on the plug to keep it secure, reinstalled the GPS module, now works perfect, thankfully it did not happen in flight, would have been ugly,I also put some zip ties on both ends of the cable for added security.
i have h1 heli on trex 450 dfc. until now , never found solution about shake after airbone,, my main shaft, tail shaft, blade ,, avery thing good condision( center). all part use original align.. after a couple time i try and looking some problem may i miss,,but i dont find any miss procedure. i change again to use microbeast fbl.. and work fly normaly..but when i use h1 again ,, still shake again.. i hope someone can give me solution in my comunity have 3 h1 heli in 3 people have same problem.. thank you
have you done the servo check in the software, with the H1 nobody seems to care about 1. CG and 2. Blade tracking..here is a video about servo check, if you get it right your blade tracking will be correct ua-cam.com/video/I_prY2lBXoE/v-deo.html its on the FW450, but H1 has same in direction center stick high stick and low stick if you have rotor head lines like SAB Align and fw and others make sure the are correct....blade tracking can cause shaking and also adjust tail in software
@@CRUZROYHelicopters thank you for your respon, all servo work correctly direction, cg little tail heavy but i think its ok , blade no tracking in any direction,, flat zerro deg, in center stick. also with tail,,its all normal condition. when i use old align 3gx again.. its work great to fly..
Thats not a good fix perment connecting components that need to detach. If you have a boom strike in a crash you can kiss the controller and gps goodby, they are going to get destroyed. Fixing the wires to the connector is good idea if they are poorly connected and come apart. Your better off using RED tap on the connector to the gps. That would stop it from coming loose, but would still be able to disconnect in crash.
