or perhaps improvisation as we see it is but possibilities yet to be generated from their regular practice, and possibly why people say to people going for a performance or competition to just do as they usually do in practice sessions

She is so light on her feet but moves very deliberately, she really knows intuitively how to follow and he is the perfect lead, support never overshadow

I love their expressions with the second song. Personally I think one of the keys to an excellent dancing performance is expression. It certainly adds flavor to the performance.

I love how they hugged before and after both dances, it just shows complete confidence and was probably part of there trying to let themselves out of there bubble but I still find it amazing how comfortable they seem dancing with strangers. Amaing talent.

It only looks like anticipation because they’re doing it well. It’s lead and follow (with the leader leaving room for the follower to add their own flourishes)
They're both dancing to the music as much as with each other, so if they appear synchronised, it's because they're both listening to, and reacting to the same track. And there's constant communication going on - its not just lead & follow, they're constantly swapping ideas and there's room in the connection for each to be creative individually, or with the right signal - together e.g. Watch the start of the second track around 2:10. She nods to her left - there'll be a signal in the hand connection to - it's a suggestion to James that they should move that way next.

They work so well together! Have to say the first dance is so underrated - Intimate, showed great chemistry and execution and you can tell both of them were able to take cues from each other easily. The 2nd dance definitely bought out both their playfulness and personality more and really empathised how great their chemistry was. Both are so well done! Will always rewatch it when it pops up on social media. ❤

What an incredible performance. Just a joy to watch
I'm still only a few months into the dance myself, but dances like this showcase how incredible of a dance performance you can have when you have good connection and are what I call "dancy". In the second dance, James led only basic moves, and in several cases just extended the basic sugar push, but he was giving room for Lauren to express, and he timed those pauses and openings for expression so well they felt natural. Laurens stylistic dancing, in my opinion, is what really stole the show as far as I'm concerned, though of course that's only possible when the lead knows to do that. Its really inspiring to see that even at the top all-star levels of this dance, this is still the way the best are approaching the dance. This honestly was not something I noticed the first few times I watched the dance, particularly when I was still in the first few weeks of learning the dance. It wasn't until I looked back at it again now that I realize how awesome they're making this dance without trying to go overboard on "moves".

Love this! I did some east coast swing. Brings it all back.
Lauren’s dancing is next level she’s smooth and light on her feet which is lovely to watch. But her little intricacies and form are perfection. you can watch it countless times and it’s flawless top to bottom. But the icing on the cake is that having fun is always at the surface. she obviously loves to dance and it shows.
James is a great lead and dancer in his own right. His element of humour encourages others to enjoy the moment and he certainly knows how to let his partners talents shine. That is a gift in itself.
