I don't hate the idea of them; I like to see technology develop. I just don't see what advantages they have over non-foldables that are worth the additional cost. They're a stepping-stone on the way to something worthwhile but not worthwhile themselves at this stage.
Streets need that OnePlus Open full review but thank you for including it because it still competes even in 2024. I have 3 of these (can't get the honor V3 here because murica) and I can say that the Open is still the king. They're all fantastic but OnePlus did something magical with the Open.
Thanks for being one of the only reviewers who mentioned the reduced price of the Open. Bored of seeing reviewers doing long-term reviews and always showing RRPs, when often there's some discount/trade in available. OnePlus made such a killer phone and it's a whole year older than the rest. At that price, clear win.
I have the P9PF and the ZF6 and i also tried but returned the 1+O. The 1+O has buggy software that really bothered me. The P9PF can also be buggy at times and the rounded corners actually cut off part of the ui when unfolded. Google makes the OS but doesn't optimize it for the P9PF which is ridiculous. The ZF6 has the best software, is more optimized but still has some issues when unfolded. The narrow outer screen on ZF6 is also hard to type on. The ZF6 is the most polished of the 3.
You left one very important device out in the foldable world, the vivo x fold 3 pro. Did you say the pixel has the widest outer screen though? I thought the honor would win that one? I have the pixel and the Samsung and go back and forth. I had the open at launch but sold it after some time..the camera array on the back..just bothered me lol.
The OnePlus and Honor are at the right price (with discount applied). I would go for one of these. Pixel and Samsung are expensive, I will just buy a Tablet and use that as my second device.
I have the 9 Pro Fold. Absolutely loving it. Major upgrade over the original Pixel Fold. Just wish it had the same camera system as the 9 Pro. I also have a Fold5 but I didn't see the point in upgrading to the Fold6. Will wait for the 7 or maybe even the 8.
My personal favorite is the Honor Magic V2 from last year, which I picked-up on Black-Friday for roundabout 800 Euros I'm very happy with this device - especially for this price !!!
1+O is my absolute favorite. Love this Beast. Charging is super fast, camera outstanding quality but the OS is not as good due to a lack of upgrades but it still does it's job. It's my first foldable the problem now is I just can't go back to a single screen.
Nice review! I just ordered the GZF6, because of the deal I got on it, hope to have it in a week or two. Main purpose will be for work related functions, hope it works out well for me.
I love my OnePlus Open. It may not be the Apex edition but it clearly ticks every box . I make my Galaxy Z Fold owners jealous... Especially with the shots I take.
Watching currently on my Pixel 9 Pro Fold (in the $US) I miss the one UI interface from the Z Flip/Fold but I really wanted a foldable that had a normal size screen on the front when closed and quality cameras for a foldable relative to the main line series phones. If Samsung makes the Fold 7 more in line with the 9 Pro Fold & One Plus Open design wise & cam bump I'll go back to the Fold 7 for sure.
I've got the Honor Magic V3 from Three in the UK. Was £1400 but got £470 through a trade in offer for my S21 Ultra and a pair of B&O headphones for free.
Torn between the Honor Magic V3 and the Z Fold 6. Currently on the Z Fold 3 so I know anything is an upgrade. But like you said, with the pricing, it's not something I want to rush into. Trying to eke the last bit of life from my Fold 3 to see what the OnePlus Open 2 looks like when that comes out. Need it sooner rather than later in Q1 2025! Awesome video/micro reviews 🤘🏾
Ive switched from samsung z folds to the honor magic V3 and its amazing. Just wish i could of brought samsung smart things with me as it doesnt work on the V3 and i have 5 smart tags that are no good to me anymore haha
I went for the V3 and love it mostly. The camera is a huge letdown, and the software feels a bit rough around the edges (it's totally usable and feels less boated than OneUI, but I wish it had OxygenOS)
I’m actually awaiting for Apple to get into the foldable categories. NOT for the iPads, I honestly do not see the need for that, more for the phone. Personally I would love to see a flip version more though…
I can't move away from Samsung for one simple reason: different home screens for inner and outer screens. It blows my mind no other manufacturer does this. You have different use cases for front and inner screen, or else you wouldn't want a foldable. So you need seperate home screens.
also important to note for those with PWM sensitivity, the V3 is the clear winner here. Vivo promises much but does not delivery, OO is very good, pixel and Samsung are awful for PWM.
A, Z Fold. It seems like people 100% disregard other qualities when it comes to comparing appearances. The Z Fold 6 has been updated year after year, inside and out, including AI.
I've had the Samsung, Pixel and now I have the V3.....agree with other commenters that the V3 is nearly always discounted....mine was £1299.....serious value for money. Even though I've not tried the Oneplus Open i think the V3 is the winner for me...its a technical marvel and its slimness is undeniable.....I do agree that Samsung need to stop being so lazy snd make major changes for the Z Fold 7...although even if its another iterative update it will still sell as Samsung enjoys a loyal following.
I've had them all, plus the best foldable for me which is the vivo x 3 pro. The V3 and OO are superb too, samsung way behind i think. Pixel ois the best in terms of improvements from the previous model
also important to note for those with PWM sensitivity, the V3 is the clear winner here. Vivo promises much but does not delivery, OO is very good, pixel and Samsung are awful for PWM.
Until manufacturers come up with a device that has an invisible crease on the screen [ if it’s possible ] I wouldn’t consider buying one , who wants a visible crease ruining their screen experience.
"Let's talk about the crease" erm, let's not. Simply put: the only people who care about a crease are people looking for an excuse not to have a foldable. Anyone who owns one is perplexed by people's crease obsession. I've had foldable for years and it's just not a thing
@MarkEllisReviews oh no I get why you have to mention it. I think we both know its people who don't daily drive foldables that obsess over it. Sorry I wasn't have a go at you. It was a great video
The competition you say ?? The competition is all thats not samsung lets be real none of them as a tablet alternative still dont have a stylus or proper support the pixel forget it The magic v3 does have support but you have to find the pen hmmmmm if you want a camera on a tablet phone, well get a phone or seperate camera to use but all around functionality Samsung hands down there the trend setters.....
I am using the Z-Fold 6. Honestly I feel Samsung has been just plain old lazy & complacent. They have been siting on their laurels & expect users to bow to their laziness. I left Nokia after their laziness brought them down h I see Samsung is blatantly doing g thr same thing. While they pay lips service, the other folding phones have been including amazing cameras & making strides in their products. This will be my last Samsung device & for the price they are charging.. I feel their value of purchase is not worth it. Samsung cannot boast that they have the best device of the class in the market. Take it from a Samsung fan since the S3 series till Fold 3 & now Fold 6. 👎👎👎
Do you hate the idea of a foldable? Tell me why 👇

Agree
Just ordered mine Pixel 9 Pro Fold last week here in US. Can’t wait to get a hand on it.

Yes right ! I am soona gonna compare with fold 3 pro
Biggest issue for me is not the price or the crease but the camera on the Fold 6
Battery and charging speed 😂
One of the many reasons I love Mark Ellis is the insistence upon pronouncing ‘zed’ correctly, and then insisting, ‘yes, we do say zed…’
Except when we're talking about Zed Zed Top
Had my black OnePlus open since launch, still the best phone I've ever used.
I have the Black Leather OnePlus Open. I've had it for going on a year now. Absolutely love it!
One plus open here. I’m just bummed the Apex came out after I already bought the regular. The color is straight fire!
I have the Z Fold 6, the Pixel, and the Honor V3, but somehow I always return to the Fold 6.

Got myself V3 a month ago. Didn't expect I'd like it this much!
Really almost nothing to complaint about
You left one very important device out in the foldable world, the vivo x fold 3 pro.

Loving my v3. Amazing device
Honor is £300 off on their site at the mo
Bargain!
Has been for a while as well. £400 if you go for the black colour option I believe. Makes it incredibly well priced!
I am here with my Mate X3. Already ordered the Mate X6
I have the samsung fold 6 and I'm sticking with it unless it fails on me
Good pick, I own Oneplus open for over year and still dont see any other wich would be better choice.
My personal favorite is the Honor Magic V2 from last year, which I picked-up on Black-Friday for roundabout 800 Euros
I'm very happy with this device - especially for this price !!!
Really like your reviews
I appreciate that!

Watching this on my Vivo X Fold Pro3. I think that's the one you should go for!
How's your notification working?
Nice review! I just ordered the GZF6, because of the deal I got on it, hope to have it in a week or two. Main purpose will be for work related functions, hope it works out well for me.
Enjoy!
It's a really good phone I'm enjoying mine and my battery life is great
@@baylor3894 If Samsung ever ships it 😫
Get well soon. I always look forward to your videos.
Thank you! Much better now 😉
I LOVE OPPO FINE N3 (One plus open) absolutely soooo love it ❤❤❤ I Changed from Apple user for 15 year to be a 1st Foldable user.
I love my OnePlus Open. It may not be the Apex edition but it clearly ticks every box . I make my Galaxy Z Fold owners jealous... Especially with the shots I take.
My Fold4 has let me down so honour time magic 3 for me 🎉
Due to cracked screen ?
They are very fun to use, they are multi tasking beasts
Love my Honor Magic V3. Got messed around trying to get the pixel fold but feel glad i missed out on it.
Watching currently on my Pixel 9 Pro Fold (in the $US) I miss the one UI interface from the Z Flip/Fold but I really wanted a foldable that had a normal size screen on the front when closed and quality cameras for a foldable relative to the main line series phones. Had all 4 , for me it's V3 , OnePlus , Zfold then pixel.
What happened to the Vivo X-Fold 3 Pro?
OnePlus Open is still the best despite being a generation older than the alternatives. And at that price it's a steal.
I've got the Honor Magic V3 from Three in the UK.
Was £1400 but got £470 through a trade in offer for my S21 Ultra and a pair of B&O headphones for free.
How is it so far? I’m getting mine from three as well soon, jumping ship from iOS.
Love my Pixel 9 Pro Fold. Yes I know there's better foldables but it does what I need I to 😎👍
Torn between the Honor Magic V3 and the Z Fold 6. Currently on the Z Fold 3 so I know anything is an upgrade. But like you said, with the pricing, it's not something I want to rush into. Awesome video/micro reviews 🤘🏾
Get the magic v2, £800. I can't imagine people seeing any performance difference between the snap dragon gen 2 and 3 unless your gaming.
Ive switched from samsung z folds to the honor magic V3 and its amazing. Just wish i could of brought samsung smart things with me as it doesnt work on the V3 and i have 5 smart tags that are no good to me anymore haha
Forgot vivo x fold 3?
I went for the V3 and love it mostly. The camera is a huge letdown, and the software feels a bit rough around the edges (it's totally usable and feels less boated than OneUI, but I wish it had OxygenOS)
I’m actually awaiting for Apple to get into the foldable categories. NOT for the iPads, I honestly do not see the need for that, more for the phone. Personally I would love to see a flip version more though…
Magic V3 will be the best one but software needs improvement

V3 is king of foldables

No Vivo x fold 3 pro?

When you use the phone you won’t see the crease. It is visible only when you hold the phone at an angle. Try it personally and you will see.
Very nice video
Where is the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro ?
Why can't a budget £500 foldable device be created? I just want the folding screen with specs of a redmi note phone.
Because the screen is the most expensive part, not the chipset or RAM.
The vinner should be Vivo X Fold 3 Pro !
Isn't available globally, so it's disqualified 😊
I have the honor magic v3 and it's to fin to open
"Let's talk about the crease" erm, let's not. Simply put: the only people who care about a crease are people looking for an excuse not to have a foldable. Anyone who owns one is perplexed by people's crease obsession. I've had foldable for years and it's just not a thing
As a content creator who makes a living from attention, I'm going to pick up on the stuff people are obsessed with, mate 😉
@MarkEllisReviews oh no I get why you have to mention it. I think we both know its people who don't daily drive foldables that obsess over it. Sorry I wasn't have a go at you. It was a great video
I think u should include vivo and xiaomi folding phone in ur list...
I would if I'd used them 😉
Vivo fold is missing 😢
Oneplus has 16gb ram. Importantl.
😊👍 Open
Give up one of the kids to get 1 😂 🤣 😅 I cant he's funny 😆
Am just checking, were you ill when filming this video? 😉
A bit.
V3 best
Fake pricing man. The V3 has never not had a discount on official honor site
"Fake pricing"?!
Honestly it’s way better and fun buying an iPhone and an Android phone and daily both. Foldables are way too expensive.
Honor have had £300 off their magic since launch. Not bad but still not Oneplus "cheap"
Of course the best is North Korean Arirang Trifold phone!
Where Apple are really falling behind now
stop leaning into the camera
Weirdest comment ever, mate.
I'm sooo bored with phones and there's sameness honestly I don't care anymore... this is my last review I got half way through
That's probably for the best, mate.
Oh, here we go 🍿
Vivo is the best fold 2024
I've NEVER heard an owner of a folding phone complain about a crease... just UA-camrs talk about it in my experience.
Pixel 9 Pro Fold is my favorite phone of 2024
BEST PHONE TH1IS YEAR IS POINT BLANK THE GOOGLE PIXEL 9 PRO XL ...PERIOD .
🤣
😂
😂😂😂
😂🤣😂🤣
