You're half right. The name does indeed translate to "White Base", but it's a reference to the Russian Civil War since you are defending the Loyalist Russians in the game and the real-life Loyalists were the "Whites".

People say Assault Horizon sucks and compare to Strangereal Ace Combat series, it sure is but if you see this game as it is, alone, it is actually pretty good. I like this game.
I actually love Assault Horizon it was a break from the strangereal stuff which was bordering on the ridiculous. I just wish the game didn't push DSM so much sometimes I like to deal death from a distance.
People who complain about the changes made in Assault Horizon are just a bunch of butt-hurt fans of the original series. I actually loved the more realistic world. Assault Horizon is one of the best games I've played.
One of the most satisfying missions that I have played across all ACs. Really long mission with lots of dog fighting, small escort/protect sections and lots of ground targets that actually feel like a threat. Best played on ACE for that extra sense of urgency when reaching CRITICAL damage.
When it all starts at 1:30, you must be starting the dance and light your enemies up !! At 2:40 you should better be performing some sweet ass maneuvers dodging 3 ennemies at once. At 2:54, you counter attack. At 3:42 exactly, the sky must be clear. Otherwise you can start the mission again!
Man, Project ACES really brings a new level of epicness to music, been a fan since Ace combat 4, which was my favorite of the series so far. Truly excellent composing.
This is my favourite track from AH's OST, along with the mission it plays in... The urge to defend both the air transports and the airfield... the apporaching enemies and the white quiet snow all around the scene: they all come together in this particular track.
This is the first and (I believe) the last mission where we face the Su-27. The rest of the Flankers in the game are either 33s or 35s. These 27s also seem to be, suprisingly, the most competent pilots out of all of the enemies. I found myself getting forced into DFM by them much more than even Akula himself. I think the music fits very well not only for you, but for the enemy in this mission aswell.
That is a horrible idea. It fucks with your concentration (Hint: missiles kill people), and makes communicating difficult. Listening to the radio chatter is enough distraction. Add on all sorts of alarms and sounds from the aircraft ("WARNING! MISSILE!" "ALERT! TERRAIN!" "PULL UP!"), and it'd be a nightmare. While good for video games, it's horrible for real life.
I just cannot stop playing the Siege mission in Assault Horizon because of this music. Don't even care if I fail, I wanna listen again, and again, and again.
hm25332 lol, same thing happens to me, i play this mission every day to listen this sweet soundtrack while dogfighting and attacking ground targets, i wish you could use this song in every mission
Had one of my most epic ace combat moments on this level. Managed to engage one enemy fighter in DFM. We climbed to a high altitude and he dropped straight down dive bombing the base. I was trying to take him down with the gun, and we were both doing barrel rolls of death headed straight for the ground. The ground beneath us was exploding 7 ways to hell, and just as we were about to crash I got the kill shot and pulled up just in time. All the while this music was playing.
I played this song when I was playing blacklight. At the intro we were loosing then suddenly I killed the whole enemy team in one go! And we won! It was awesome! At 2:29 I was chasing them everything was synced lol.
@SporeLegacy Theres also the small possibility that Galm could be Sergei Brynner, Beast 1 from Assault Horizon Legacy considering he uses a false identity and the game says his true backstory is that he was one of the few pilots who survived the round table.
wat No. Only certain "boss" enemies take more than a couple of missiles, and only in certain games. And they have an actual "lifebar", not just a point in their scripted flight path where you're suddenly allowed to kill them at all.
@PolytoneZebraGuy Yeah, I figured that out yesterday in my head. "Wait, Derbent isn't this song..." It was the one where you protect the Russian Base and the Sova transport flight. But I forgot the name. DX

However, after convincing Warwolf Squadron that they are not the enemy, the Ace and Warwolf join forces to bring down the terrorist organization. Under the guidance of the Strangereal Ace, the Ace and Warwolf slowly begin to reclaim back what’s our and bring the terrorist group back to their knees, the player alternating perspectives between the Strangereal Ace and Warwolf. In the second to last mission, the Strangereal Ace is shot down by the enemy Ace and severely injured, leaving Warwolf as the only pilot potent enough to shoot the enemy Ace down. In a showdown at Washington D.C, Warwolf uses the knowledge and tricks handed down by the Strangereal Ace to fight against the enemy Ace and ultimately shooting the enemy Ace down and winning the war.
