Thank you so much! I know what you mean about the cast iron being heavy, that is my one complaint about them too. I have one that has short sides (maybe a quarter inch high) that is a lot lighter. I used that one more often, because of how light it is. I almost exclusively use my cast irons now though. The more you use them though the better they become nonstick wise and I find them to be more non stick than my other pans. Hopefully you will give your a try again. It is one of those things where you have to use it often in order to really build up that nonstick factor. Also preheating it before cooking helps too.

My mouth is watering Cara 💕 everything looks delicious 💕 and your small blue bowl with your crumble is stunning 💕
Aww thank you Jasmine! 💚💚 The little blue blue bowl was actually a gift from my mother. I collect Polish Pottery and other painted pottery like that. 😊😊😊
@@bluebirdhomestead I collect pottery 💕
Thanks for the motivation! My dehydrator is full now 🤣👍🏻 Nice video
Yeah!! That's awesome to hear! What are you dehydrating today?
@@bluebirdhomestead Herbs and tomatoes 🍅 💚🌼
@@lisaf7688 That’s awesome!! The sun dried tomatoes are so yummy. I kept sneaking some as a snack as mine were dehydrating haha
@@bluebirdhomestead I know! I’m a foodie too 😆
What is that tap behind the stove on the wall? You have loads of fantastic recipes for people to start using up the “glut” and I’ll be keeping this one for sure. Have a fantastic week 🐝 safe Cara and family
Thank you! The tap above the stove is a "pot filler" it is really handy for filling up big pots with water or pitchers/vases other things that are extra tall.
@@bluebirdhomestead very cool 😎 you have a gorgeous home 🥰
@@myrustygarden Thank you 😊
Thanks for putting the ingredients in the description, I get caught up watching you cook and then go Oh that looks really nice that I forget the quantities.
I hope you give some of the recipes a try! I always find it helpful to have an ingredient list too, because I always forget to take notes when watching others myself haha
Thank you!

More ways of preparing zucchini! I've also substituted zucchini for pasta in making lasagna. 💖
That’s a great idea! I have made plain zucchini noodles for pasta before, but never lasagna. I will have to give that a try! Thanks for sharing! 😀
That's an awesome stove (off topic 😍). I'm a lover of cooking -- almost up there with gardening. Love my mandolin and have been cut before. Wow that's a lot of onions. Do you have a variety you use or even better a video on how you grew them? That dressing was crazy simple. Thanks for sharing this. Can't wait to give it a try.
Thank you so much! I do have a video on harvesting our onions and another one about when we planted them where I talk about all the different varieties. I hope you give the recipes a try! They are really yummy! I also am kind of obsessed with my stove too haha. I love to cook so I often have several pots and pans going at once and the extra burners are truly so wonderful. I hope you have a great day! -Cara
@@bluebirdhomestead Thanks for the feedback Cara. I appreciate it! Will take a look at the videos you suggested.

11:20 - RIP Dill. Planning on starting another?
Yes, I would love to have some more dill this season. I sowed some seed a few weeks ago, but so far no germination. I may have to go buy another start from a nursery.
Everything looks great! I’ve made sourdough pizza crust, but I’ve never tried it with only the discard before - it’s great to have a new idea to use the discard! Also, I’ve never used baking powder in my crisp topping - does that make it rise a little or give it a different texture?
Definitely give the discard crust a try. It is so easy and really very tasty! The baking powder does give it a little bit of a rise I have found 😀😀

Good evening, great video and worth watching my friend. I wish you a happy evening. Welcome to my channel
thank you!
I’m always so inspired after I watch your videos. Great use of the zucchini although I’m not sure about the crisp, I may have to make it and try it out.🪴💚
aww thank you Bernie! I honestly wasn’t positive about the crisp until I tried it! It really does taste exactly like apple crisp. I wouldn’t have been able to tell the difference unless I had made it. Ryan couldn’t tell the difference haha
