Watched your video -- almost stopped once you mentioned the radio storing information... glad I didn't. would've fixed it only for it to happen again
having this issue man, but no tire pressure warning. I will do a full reset, had some radio issues during this current bout of "service power steering", thanks for sharing all of your research.
@@TB-hr9cb I just want everyone with a 2013 Ford Fusion to report this particular issue because NHTSA only recalled SOME of this year's, make and model for this issue when they SHOULD recall all of them because Many don't fall under their small umbrella. It's an extremely costly fix and Ford should be fitting the bill for Their mistake.

I replaced a faulty sensor and then attempted to reprogram them with the EL50448 tool but it happened that the 4th one was also bad and couldn't complete the learning process. I didn't had an additional sensor at the time so I ordered one online and left the car like that, essentially, missing a TPMS sensor. I week went by and I left for a 200mile trip to the other side of the island and the PS quit on me then. Had to drive the car like that the ENTIRE weekend, not fun. I get back home and started researching the issue and found your video. I also scanned the car and it gives me code U3000-96-C8 which indicate R&R the rack. After getting a dealer sticker shock of $2000 plus tax for a new rack, I'm gona replace all the faulty TPMS sensors and try your trick and hopefully, it will work. Will post more when done...
@@emanuelagache Sadly, no. Bit the bullet and replaced the steering rack with a rebuilt unit from AutoZone. At $340, a good deal over my local Ford dealer that wanted $2k for a new one and were on backorder.
Still relevant. Sudden "steering loss, stop safely" out of nowhere. I was about to call for an appointment after checking the wiring and the fuses. Glad I saw the message at the end. I've been getting the tire monitor error since I changed back to my winter tires and figured I would get the faulty module replaced in the spring when I swapped back. (the tires are fine, its just a bad sensor) Never thought the two could be related. Battery's unplugged now, fingers are crossed.
Did it work? Haven't had issues with the tire sensor fault, but it has been on every other day from a nail. Actually have an appt to get Winter tires tomorrow so wasnt worried about it...going to give this a try for my Service Advancetrac and Service Power steering codes🤞

I went, had the air pressure sensor changed. Then, I drove home and unhooked the battery. Left it sit over night and hooked it back up this morning. Engine light went away but, no power steering.
chk the tire pressure sensors first....i had a bad one on driver side tire and the service power steering light come on along with the advanced tracking and was very hard to steer .....free fix at discount tire cus of the warranty and my power steering is working again

Same happened with me. Yesterday, while driving suddenly the service power steering light came up. Then when I tried to restart the car the steering wheel became rigid.
I don't know how true that is about the tire pressure sensors because I have aftermarket rims and do not have tire pressure sensors and 368,000 miles and not had a problem yet
To all watching this video im no mechanic but our serpentine belt went and the car broke down. After buying a new one and figuring out the diagram and installing it we had trouble figuring out the diagram the battery died and since power steering has been out. People have been saying rack is bad but how unlucky could we possibly be? Lol like we literally started the car after replacing the serpentine belt and had this problem. Its crazy that a wheel sensor can cause so much complications smh. I feel bad for those thinking its their rack ($2k) when it can be a sensor smh horrible.
If you fix the pressure monitors and retrain them, it will still need a pscm reset. Check out the video posted by gridiron search gridiron ford fusion 2012 power steering reset. shows how to do it for free. The rack and pinion change is a rip off and doesn't fix the problem. its all programing

I have a 2012 Fusion and the battery light always comes on once I start driving. My mechanic said my battery and my alternator were fine. That was months ago. It's so annoying!
your mechanic sucks. you need a battery, an alternator and a new serpintine belt. he has a GED and that is it. go to a real one and get this done. or either he is scamming you. I will tell you the scam here it is: when your battery cannot hold enough charge to power your digital electronic transmisson which is an Aissin F35 FWD transmission 6 speed, then he will tell you to get a new car and sell him that one for 500 to 1000 dollars and tell you the transmission is bad, he will then keep it for a few weeks and then sell it for 6500 to 8000 dollars. or he will tell you that fixing it will cost 2500 or 4600 dollars. either way he will just change the battery and you will be a sucker. i have a 2011 ford fuion, a 2008 mercury milan, a 2008 mercury mariner, a 2011 mercury milan. all of them, I REPEAT ALL OF THEM HAVE OVER 300K MILES ALL ORIGIONAL TRANSMISSIONS AND ENGINES! dont be a sucker please!
When you get a power steering assist fault what I did was shut the car off , remove key from ignition, open the drivers side door, put key back in, start car, fault goes away!
@@mulito7823 yes! The shop never flashed the new parts or relearned them. They just put the new parts on and bc the car drove fine they didn’t reprogram that shit. So another 160$ for me to have it flashed at ford and now it’s back to normal and everything’s fine. Unfortunately I have anxiety it’ll happen again bc everyone online says it’s impossible to know what’s wrong lol
Are your tire sensors bad tho? At the end of the video he does say that after doing research he has found that faulty sensors can lead it right back in that mode.

I’m debating whether to get a 2010 Fusion or a 2003 Camry. What would you recommend? I like both but the Fusion sorta concerns me because of the issues they’ve had. But it’s newer and feels somewhat safer
My serpentine belt went then my battery died. Right After I fixed the two my power steering was gone. My rack was fine before that problem happened. Ford knew the bullshit they was doing. The dude above said it worked for like 2 hours and stopped. I know after this my next vehicle definitely won't be no shitty Ford 😅

It is a recall but it’s for 150k miles or 10 years which ever comes first

My power steering light came on and we put it in on the code reader and there was no code.

Yes. You want to lose full power and ground from the battery.

Id just reset the battery, its hard telling what the computer will do when getting all that info. Im not sayin its 100% accurate but it can happen
