Thanks everyone for your comments! We appreciate all your different opinions and that is why making these is so tough! At least we get a good reason to watch some amazing moments once again.. (not that we needed one) 😉
Olympic
No Simone Biles’ stuck landings?
Olympic
I do love the montage!!! Well done!🤓
You left out Keri Shrugs one foot vault landing. Best landing in history.
U should've done a top 15 for each event. Its hard to matchup bar dismounts with vaults and beam dismounts and floor passes. Lol but thanks for the vid.
And yeah Kerri Strug will always be the ULTIMATE STUCK LANDING TIL IDK WHEN! She won the U.S. the gold medal in Atlanta first time ever in gymnastics history.
they're all great, but the music, my god, the music is like a hammer on repeat
smochinaverde Agree! I had to put it on mute to watch it 😩
Terrible! I had to mute it too.
YES. Its like something the Sims would use...
Mute it then
Let me enlighten you please, the music that you hear is from the underworld, these half 'n' halfs open portals to demonic realms, this is how they're able to perform so well and magically fly in the air.
I just noticed the judge behind Shannon Miller in 1992 immediately holding up a 10.00 lol
Devora H that’s for start value
She was so robbed. I'm still mad about it, lol. Tatiana's vault was good, but no as good as Shannon's .
Same xD
@@rolandgreen7484 I'm well aware.
@@rolandgreen7484 True, however, Gutsu was overscored on floor with that huge lunge after she underrotated that first pass and still got a 9.925
McKayla Maroney's vault... Iconic!
Jed
Remember watching it live on TV. I stood up immediately, and yelled and clapped and woke everyone up :)
She’s ranked above Nadia that says a lot
I've never seen anything to rival it. The creator of this video definitely saved the best for last.
@@andigomez1993 Me too. I didn't wake people up, but I jumped off the sofa and yelled. And I wasn't even a very big fan of hers. But that was an epic moment.
Nastia's, Shannon's, and McKayla's vaults/ landings were glorious!
Four Seasons + Patterson !
Four Seasons NASTIA!
Miller’s vault in Barcelona remains one of the most beautifully executed vaults I’ve ever seen.
I wish they showed the judge during McKayla’s vault, when her jaw just hits the floor.
That was from NBC's footage
Yet they didn’t give her a 10. ANNOYING
@@ZozoLadybug16 There were deductions to be given, but it was still an amazing vault.
Zozo Ladybug16 they wouldn’t have given her a 10 even if she didn’t get any deduction her max score was 16.6...
@@veronikas.8831 execution score is still out of 10. So if she got a 16.6, she would have gotten a perfect 10 in execution
Maroney's vault is really up there with the most iconic moments ever in Olympic gymnastics
Comaneci will always be THE legend of gymnastics.
Yes first perfect 10! I was a grade schooler at time. We would pretend to be Nadia Comaneci or Nellie Kim on the playground during recess. LoL
No doubt about that. She had it all...power and grace...and she delivered!
I just noticed tho Nadia did not stick she had a hop and still got a 10
That shows how little you know about artistic gymnastics, its evolution and history.
@@luv2467thank you, someone noticed. Judges did not deduct the tenth.
Kerri Strug?! Most iconic stuck landing ever!
angela1504 she didn’t stick it. Although her vault was amazing she was taking hops as she was saluting and landing. I mean keep in mind she also broke her ankle but it wasn’t a stick I wish though that would’ve been awesome
@@gabbyferrarini7696 she stuck the second landing on one foot
Tina Thiel she hopped on her second landing, though it wasn’t much
Whaaat
@@gabbyferrarini7696 it was a stick. ..on one foot. "Then" she started hopping and actually sat down.
Shannon Miller’s vault really should’ve gotten a ten
Extraordinary
1 is the best
Really!? It didn’t? That’s crazy
@@Pats308 it's also the year she lost the all around by .05 to a Russian that didn't even qualify for the all around, Svetlana gave up her spot for her, and then the russian was overscored, and it's kind of ironic that it's this clip of her that they show, because this is where she should have easily outscored the russian by at least .1 who did not perform as well. The Olympics hadn't quite caught on yet just how rampid the scoring was until the skating in 2002 where there was no way to hide the obvious scoring scandal.
Anyways, love the videos and Maroney's vault was iconic
@@Jukka70 1. Gutsu was Ukrainian, not Russian
2. She took Galieva's spot in the final, not Svetlana's
3. I agree Shannon should've won
Could Shannon Miller be anymore perfect.
ironic that the most perfect piece of gymnastics ever performed didn't receive a 10 when far inferior gymnastics (at that same Olympics even) did
Nope !
No way
@@bbhouk1 ikr, Nadia didn't deserve some of her perfect 10s, even Nellie. Shannon absolutely deserved more titles and perfect scores
I came to see Shannon Miller’s Barcelona vault-thank god it was here!
Barcelona 92 - iconic gymnastics. Loved that Olympics
Yes those Olympics, the ladies gymnastics was so close, so competitive. The men also was great. The 90s the best decade for gymnastics.
Barcelona was one of the best I’ve seen
Shannon Miller was brilliant in Barcelona, she basically hit all of her routines. Loved watching her so much!
Yes! Yes! Yes! The very first Olympics I really got into and I was HOOKED! Shannon Miller was electric! So many incredible women during that time.
That's the one that got me into gymnastics!
Romania was 4 times.I am so proud of the gymnasts in my country.
They will come back strong. I have no doubt Iordache will make her mark in Tokyo and Romania will qualify an entire team gor 2024
Can we just talk about Ma Yanhong's bars dismount? That was incredible! 😱
for reall!
So incredible no one else can do it.
Shannon is number 1 for me.... that vault is legendary.
Artistic gymnasts never cease to amaze me. Ankles of *STEEL!*
Shannon Miller's form is exquisite.
Nadia Comaneci!! Yes!!! Best ever!!!
Is only 2 place!!!
I think is the BEST ever.
Yes! Her or Simone. But actually the landing showed is it perfectly stuck. She moves one her feet. That always bother me a little when I watch her perfect ten routine...
Ma Yanhong is a legend! Shannon should've gotten a 10 for that vault.
Did you see the 10 go up in real time?
Yes! The judge went 10! Wish they had stuck to it.
ALIYA MUSTAFINA 😍
Love her
Shannon Miller's vault was perfect.
Got to be the best I have ever seen
Shannon deserved a 10.....no doubt!!!!
I think there is more iconic than this choice. For example, raisman opening sequence fx ef 2012, johnson bars 2008, double2 layout all around, ponor beam dismount 2004 ef.
shar - ky and also Nastia balance bean stuck dismount in 2008 Olympics all round. I ll never forget Yao Jinnan always sticking her double layout dismount
@@edwardadaba8734 oh yeah. Forgot about jinnan. Her stick double layoutttt is amazing!!
shar - ky love her.... but we forgot to mention Queen Khorkina. She also stuck her 1/1 double layout at the EF uneven bars, both 1996 and 2000.
.
Also Shawn’s stuck double double during the 08’ nationals
Almost every tumbling pass from Sandra Izbasa 2008 Fx EF, Catalina Ponor 2012 Fx EF, Viktoria Komova 2012 Fx AA could be featured here. Also every full twisting double back dismount off beam by Shannon Miller.
This video is so satisfying, it helps my anxiety.
Nastia’s vault though!!!! Beautiful
my favorite stick of all time is Viktoria Komova's final FX pass (double pike) in the 2012 AA final
Maroney's vault was amazing!
Lu Li's landing was absolutely AMAZING
Onodi on floor in ‘92, just 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Aliya ❤️
such an incredible athlete
where is the double twisting double layout dismount of the bars of shawn johnson in the all around final?
While she did stick it, her legs were split apart one in front of the other, so it doesn’t match up with all of the sticks here (legs parallel).
ummmm Carly's feet weren't together... neither were half of the others
Cole and Josh No, not actually stuck together, just side by side.
Jaja!!! Malll!!! xD
oh yes Jennifer López is very beautiful, hahaha yes she is very pretty
Thank you so much! Love how you slowed these down so we could fully appreciate the difficulty .
Carly Patterson had the best Olympic stick of all time hands down. Perfect position and didn't move a muscle. Lu Li's was amazing too
Sandra Izbasa stuck all the landings in that final.
She did, and I believe her second pass was a lot harder than her first, if I remember correctly?
Briana Gutfinski in Beijing, all her passes had pretty much the same difficulty. In London yes, the second pass was .3 higher in difficulty
Daniela Silivas, Nadia Comaneci, y Mustafina 💓😍😍
Henrietta is the *QUEEN* of triple twists. Can't change my mind
Great video! One of my fav sticks ever is Cristina Bontas’s 1992 all around floor double layout. OMG ITS BEAUTIFUL.
Mustafina ❤️❤️
I love how the judge is throwing up a 10 before Shannon even turns to solute 🙌👑
That was the start value, not what the judge was scoring.
I could watch Shannon Miller's vault all day.
These were all great. However, I think I need to go get my ACL and MCL fixed after watching all of them
Not a big fan of Carly Patterson but her beam dismount was absolutely incredible.
And Henrietta Onodi's triple twist. I mean how perfect right
Viktoria Komova 2012 AA FX ?
Luis Oullet right?!
B M-Y not with that vault..yikes
@B M-Y yeahhhhhh she wasn't beating Gabby.
omg i cant watch a clip of that without remembering the commentator yelling "WHOA HO TALK ABOUT PERFECT!" as she stuck that double pike
That floor exercise is still my favorite ever.
I can’t believe Simona Amanar stuck that vault, on the olden days vault. And also did an Amanar on that vault, best vault worker yet I think.
But she was never able to stick it. Maroney and Biles, just to name 2, have actually stuck it COLD.
JoJo 70 marines never stuck it but ok
@@georgiaa.9290 if you mean maroney you are very wrong. Go back and watch 2011 WC
JoJo 70 it’s practically impossible to stick an Amanar on the old vault. You can be 100% sure Maroney and Simone can’t stick it on that vault.
@@jojox9791 But the point is that Amanar competed on the vaulting horse. Both Biles and Maroney competed on the table
What about Mary Lou Retton’s AA vault at the 1984 Olympics? Two stuck landings in a row!
And man, I’m old if that is the one that instantly came to my mind with this video title...,
She even said after the first vault that she was smiling coming down because she knew she could control that landing.
Two perfect ten vaults in a row for the gold, and she didn't even need to do the second vault.
That was my first thought. Didn’t she get a 10? I thought she would be #1 here but it seems that no one here has ever heard of her?!
Me too! That’s the first one that came to my kind as well. That clip needs to be in this compilation.
I remember when Carly stuck that beam dismount in the all around at Athens. I was crying I was so happy. I always loved watching her on beam.
Comaneci is number one for me. Just perfect.
The best video from Olympics channel!!absolutely stunning❤
that first bar routine is INSANE. i’ve never seen anything like that
Onodi 🇭🇺 show her 1994 triple twist landing. I remember most of these 💖
uhhhh kerry strug 96 olympics, she stuck that second vault. that was EPIC.
She technically didnt stick it because she hopped on the landing. Still amazing and better than all these sticks, but not a stick
What about Russia's Anna Pavlova double layout in 2008 all around final?
and catalina ponor double layout in 2012 floor final
Yeah I was expecting that one or Shawn's stuck dismount in Beijing.
I know right?!
love Anna!
There are many that weren't included. That would take about 2 hours to finish lol. But Pavlova was always under appreciated.
By far one compilation I can't argue about, the best! Gave me nostalgia of the good ol days.
🙌🏼🙌🏼
I still don't understand why McKayla's vault didn't have a perfect 10 e score 😤😤
When you see these in slow motion you realize how much force they hit the ground with. It makes my joints hurt just watching.
That number 3 landing was as perfect as they come, wow
they forgot to include komova at the AA finals. unforgettable
Carly Patterson's dismount was so satisfying 😍😍😍
Ponor win bb un athenas 2004,
WOWWW YOU ALL ARE JUST AMAZING!SUCH EXTRAORDINARY TALANTS!👏👏👏👏👏👍👍👍👍💟💟💟💟
Izbasa's triple twist for 2008 floor is more iconic than the full-twisting double pike.
Almost every pass of that routine could be featured here.
My favorite is Carly Patterson!!! No one in the actual squad is capable of do this masterpiece. That combination will be slay for the rest of my life.
Viktoria Komova did the same exact skill and more beautiful to watch lol
Back when "Sticking the landing" actually mean something !!! Now you just see too many small hops, steps or tumbling right off the mat....Good video, thank you for looking at all of these for the video!!
I knew who number 1 would be before I even started watching. Most iconic stick ever!
Thank you for uploading this! If you do a Part 2, check out Amy Chow’s Team Optionals uneven bars dismount in the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, Mary Lou Retton’s gold medal-winning vault in the 1984 Olympics, and the composure shown by Ludmilla Tourischeva at the 1975 World Cup as the uneven bars collapsed after her dismount.
Oh, and just as a "full-circle" kind of moment, watch Kerri Strug's vault famous vault landing from the 1996 Olympics. You can see the judges in the background, their faces going from smiles to concern once it becomes apparent that Kerry is hurt - Ludmilla is one of those judges.
Simone will always have my heart. What an unstoppable force of nature 💚
Maroney could’ve out vaulted her any day if they were competing together! Their power is pretty even but Maroney’s technique was better.
Leah Madrid ok but maroney isn’t the greatest gymnast of all time
@@mandy12372 as if vault is simone's best event
My God. Simone is already iconic. She has skills named after her. Why does she have to be "the best" of everything? Maroney's 2012 amanar wasn't outdone by Biles (maybe ever) and that's okay. It won't hurt Biles if Maroney is better in vault (which is true).
Why are we bringing her up when she's not in this? She is the best total package gymnast maybe ever. But we can still give the other incredible women their flowers too.
Man the girls from before were alot thinner and the girls now are more muscular
They stopped getting held back by standards of femininity like ideas about grace, elegance, and beauty
Maritza Avila Now days the girls need more muscle for trickier acrobatics too. Like for Simone Biles to stick her triple twist double layout on floor, she needs and HAS some serious leg muscles! And events like beam with all the pirouettes and all the release acro (a release on high bar into a flip back onto the bar) and straight into transition to low bar, that takes a lot of upper body strength, like the biceps, triceps, pecs, lats. Artistic Gymnastics in 2020 has gotten very competitive and the requirements very much more difficult.
Some of them look so skinny that I was worried their bones would break! I'm so glad those anorexic standards were shattered these days.
Maritza Avila Maritza Avila, along with their names, they also used to show the weight of each girl/woman.
Yeah the whole time I was thinking about how each and every one of these competitors has probably had several coaches body shame them and tell them to starve themselves, lose weight, and look a certain way their entire careers.
It's honestly concerning that the Olympics UA-cam channel would post an "overall best _" video and mostly include older footage that glorifies unhealthy standards for gymnasts. Also, there are some crazy stuck landings that have been performed by POC that are curiously not included either.
Absolutely incredible!!
Don’t forget 2008 Team Final, where Deng Lin Lin stuck her vault like a queen!! She was the last pick for the team, yet she represented her team in three events and completed all beautifully - including a stuck DTY!! I also like Yao Jinnan - she sticks literally every DLO on bars.
I was gonna riot if McKayla Maroney’s vault wasn’t in here. Thank you for putting it where it belongs.
Take it easy. Shannon Miller way better all around than her
i was actually hoping it would not be here because it's not stuck.
Mustafina niña bella y perfecta.
Shannon’s vault was flawless. FLAWLESS.
Some of the greatest gymnasts and moments ever
This is an art!
Nadia y Aliya 👏👏👏❤❤❤.
I was expecting this to be an America-fest but I was pleasantly surprised by the variety. Thanks!
The fact that Shannon’s vault didn’t get a 10 is borderline criminal. It was perfect!
I am personally offended by the lack of Yelena Produnova in this video.
Otherwise a great video ❤️
Produnova actually didn't stick a vault landing in the Olympics
@@fortheloveofcats2462 not talking about vault.
No Kerri Strug?? Really???? That women performed vault with an INJURED FOOT and landed on foot!!!~~ that right there is the most memorable perfect inspirational landing of all time
Memorable and inspirational yes. Not the best tho
Not a stuck landing tho
Love the slow motion. It is just amazing to watch.
These young ladies are no doubt so fearless 💯
As expected. Maroney top charting it. Best amanar ever produced so far in olympics/worlds.
Kerri strug? 96 vault team final? Wow. Thats a whopper
Definitely is first place in history of stuck landings
@@inezmickel1274 She didn't stick it. She hopped about. It was glorious and iconic but not a stick. Though, most "sticks" in this video weren't really sticks, so very easy to be confused.
@@Kaalyn_HOW she stood for 2 seconds before she hopped, it was a stick.
@@blissgustafson1174 Aaaabsolutely not. She instantaneously hops back the moment she lands, holds that for just about a second, then begins hopping to salute before kneeling. Sticks require full control before salute - which she never had at any point - and ofc no movement before the turn. Two seconds is also very long. For comparison, men's rings holds are 2sec, and no one holds landings that long. But she never fully stopped moving anyway. You may need to re-watch.
She can still be incredible (in spite of them pushing her to do a completely unnecessary VT) while still recognizing it's nothing close to a stick.
I looked up to Shannon Miller SO MUCH when I was a kid! I just remember wanting to be her so badly because I loved gymnastics and really wanted to be a gymnast when I got older. I became a swimmer and water polo player instead because that's what I really excelled in.
We will miss the Olympics this year i was so looking fwd to it!!
A stick means your feet don’t move a millimeter when you land. Amanar moved her left foot ever so slightly so it is not a stick.
Yeah, Mckayla too, her weight was forwards so she covered it up with a salute, I don’t even know why people thought it was a stick
Agreed. Maroney’s vault was probably the best amanar ever but she cheated that landing. She did not stay in her landing position long enough before she stepped out to present to the judges and crowd.
pedropelaez yeah, agreed, it was a really good vault anyway
@@pedropelaez Totally agree!! People is blind by the beauty of the vault but as far as call it a stuck landing? I don't think so.
Serenas Temper Amanda Borden?
It had to be McKayla Maroney's vault. She is the best I've ever seen at that event.
Believe Simone is.
@@MC-oj4en simone is a better gymnast “overall”... but mckayla maroney is most def better at vault. She just is.
Back then when gymnastics was still a graceful sport 💓
Some people say last time women's gymnastics were graceful was back in the 1960s.
What a beautiful DISCIPLINE.
5:00 she held up that ten SO FAST
I'm pretty sure that's just the start value that it was awarded, I believe the judges were actually across from there.
There are a few more you missed for this video but perhaps a part 2 will come later?? 😀
Shannon Miller our first Olympic heroine!!!!
THAT vault never gets old
Some of these aren't even stuck landings
Aww I'm sure you're offended that Biles wasn't here👏🏻😭😂! Real cheap.
The only one would be nadia. But she is nadia and it was 1976 so she's in. Other than her who didn't stick?
@@jojox9791 That's what I would say.. I don't know, but he or she is always mad when they see beautiful gymanstics compilations.
@@jojox9791 lol Simona Amanar, the very first one in the video. Her left foot slides... 'stick' implies no movement.
@@annapavfan4680 if you actually payed attention to the video you would see that there are a few that aren't sticks. Stop being so stuck up
Yang yilin probably isnt featured but her 2008 ef dismount is the best stuck in the history of the olympics
Hardly, she had a very deep knee bend. Yang Yun's in 2000 bar finals was better.
Yarotska 2019 thats partially why it was so satisfying, everyone elses stucks were so straight and hard almost. While yilins was smooth as butter
@@hantingchen5497 You're not supposed to land that deep, though. Technically speaking, it was a flaw, not an iconic moment lol.
No way. It was good. But not the best. And it is hard not to differentiate each apparatus landings. I would go with "best bb sticks " , "best vt sticks " etc
Same jojo. Lyssenko's landing was pretty deep and IMO not very pretty yet it is here. Carly's Patterson (lol) is always very deep as well but still amazing, smooth, and satisfying to watch so for me the criteria is unclear in this video.
When a landing is stuck perfectly the look on their faces is enough.
Well done to all of these. Thanks for the video.
(Kinda disappointed Kerry wasn't on the list. A 1 foot landing that stuck was insanely amazing)
My heart about fell out of my chest when I saw THE ONE TIME that Mackayla fell on her landing..during the vault finals for individuals, no less😢
