Undoubtedly the Primrose Mine just north of Seward. The alpine footage of the peaks and lake matches the terrain around Lost Lake just above the mine.

Jeremy, thank you for the details. It's most helpful learning more about this 91 year old reel.

I agree that this is probably Primrose Mine on the Southwest corner of Kenai Lake and the alpine footage is Lost Lake which lies above treeline southwest of the Primrose mine location. The Primrose Trail follows the old mining road that led up to this mine.

I think you are spot on. I recognize the terrain features and shape of lost lake.

That valley at 5:50 is due west of Lost Lake, with Mount Ascension on left of the frame. The photographer would have been standing on the east side of the lake looking West towards the headwaters of Martin Creek. There is a well developed trail that goes right to where those alpine videos were filmed.

That's probably my favorite type of machine, where every possible piece is made of crudely chopped wood, besides the small components and engines that need to be metal.

North Shore Gold mine operated in the 1930’s in Schreiber Ontario. There is still machinery left behind including a WW1 submarine engine. Lots of piping leading to mines. I assume the piping was for water ? Did they drill the granite to put dynamite in back in the 1930’s ?

The valley in question is Paradise Valley. Landed up there in a bush plane on a gravel bar.

At 6:07 that is definitely Lost Lake out of Seward The mine could be the old Primrose Mine nearby but I have never been there.

maybe Lost or Bear creek, Alpine footage may have been Lost Lake area, but I have only been up there in winter
there were mines everywhere on the Kenai, most, possibly all was not a placer operation, seems like his water wheel was driving a mill which fed the sluice system, anyone who knew that guy has likely been dead 30+ years
