Kintsugi - A Japanese Inspired Guitar Build
Вставка

- Last year I received a batch of wood that sadly shattered during transit. It got me thinking, how can I rescue this beautiful wood.
That's when the idea hit me. I needed to embrace every crack, every imperfection; make that the central feature of the design itself.
Kintsugi is a Japanese artform that uses golden glue to repair objects and make them whole again. This would be my inspiration throughout this guitar's creation. - Навчання та стиль
Beautiful! It was actually really relaxing to watch this come together in thís video. I think you did a spectacular job with it!
Thank you so much, glad you liked it!
Guitar build videos are plenty but this, this is different. There is conscience Artistry happening with your work. The hands are just following your mind and your heart. That makes you a little more special than others. I subbed ya because I admire your attention to detail.
That's extremely kind of you to say and thank you for the sub. I'm taking a break for the cold months but I will have 4 very interesting projects coming out this year
That’s the trippiest looking trem I’ve ever seen!! Beautiful build, mate. : )
Thanks! The trem is a Les Trem II, they're great, especially for tuneomatic bridge conversions.
Wow , just wow , love it , gonna try it .
Thanks man. Hope it goes well
Beautiful, clean and really ergonomic . Well done!
Thank you 👍

Thanks man
Absolutely beautiful and hypnotic to watch. Superb!
Ah thank you!
Enjoyed the whole build. Well done. Beautiful guitar.
Thanks for watching
Very inspired idea. The finished result looks very cool.
Thanks man
Nice job , I enjoy watching these videos. I watched one yesterday where the guy made a beautiful Les Paul style guitar out of an old door and incorporated the brass hinges into it. It was amazing , there's a lot of people here who have mad skills. I would love to try this but I don't have the proper tools , I built a Tele. But it was from a kit , I painted it and installed custom parts and it was extremely enjoyable. Can't wait to do another!
Send me a link, that sounds cool.
You don't need all the tools. I don't have a workshop or many tools. You can make a guitar with a workmate, Jigsaw, router and maybe a couple extra things. Just basic things
@@struttmusic487 Cool! It was just a kit from Amazon , from Bex Gears but there's a lot of companies offering the diy kits. Some are better than others , but in my case the neck on mine was better than some of my guitars that cost over $500....✌️
That is the instant benefit of making your own, if you're putting in the effort, you should have something that plays better than fairly pricey instruments.
I started with a jigsaw and router just over a year ago so I'd definitely recommend giving it a go and to not be too put off my needing a workshop and all the tools etc
@@struttmusic487 I'm pretty confident I could do it , I was a carpenter for many years and I'm pretty mechanically inclined. So maybe I'll give it a go!👍✌️
@@mikeg6666 in that case youll likely do a lot better than me
Great work! Very Inspiring!❤
Thank you so much!
An excellent idea brilliantly executed 😀 love the finish, well done.

Wowww! Beautiful! I always love watching Japanese Craftsmanship because it's always a Work of Art, Clean, Attention to Detail, Delicately Done and Always Awesome! ❤️❤️❤️
Thanks you're too kind!
@@struttmusic487 you're welcome sir, more power to your channel ❤️
Awesome music and guitar!
Thanks man it was fun making it
The level of quality in the recording, the editing and the build in itself is amazing. Stunning guitar and amazing video... It's a waste that you have so few subscribers
Wow thank you so much, that means a lot! I'm trying my best to work on getting more people watching my vids...all I can do is keep making more stuff :)
@@struttmusic487 that's the only way! Keep on working!
Great guitar!

Thanks man...I hate waste
The pearl resin inlay work is such a cool idea and looks absolutely fantastic. What a gorgeous build.
Really enjoyed doing it. You're too kind 😊
@@struttmusic487 I don't even comment unless I feel strongly. It really is a stunning build. Well done, man.
@@smokinvalves thanks so much!!
@@struttmusic487 you're very welcome. Wish I had a fraction of your skills 😁
@@smokinvalves you've made my day
Nice!
Thank you! Cheers!
That is a great looking guitar ! Best of luck
Thanks man
very nice build, very nice video. Well done my friend
Thanks 🙏
Very cool! Looks like lava rivers!
Thanks man
Beautiful! I put a Duesenberg Les Trem 2 on several guitars. The best non-Strat trem system yet. Looks good too!
Yes I was initially worried about the looks as I was previously a big bigsby fan but I think I'm a complete convert now
Muito Linda bom trabalho parabéns.
Obrigado!
This is such a hypnotic video to watch, and the guitar looks beautiful.
Thanks man!
Nice build. Would have liked to have seen more or the back scalloping. Beautiful guitar.
Thanks very much
Wow...
Thanks
Hey just a quick tip: plugging in the mics on your drumset helps with the overall recording quality
Ah thanks mate, I'll try that next time
Awesome! What an absolutely beautiful guitar. At the moment I am building my first self-built guitar and I hope so much that it will turn out to be acceptable at least.
I think you'll surprise yourself. What are you building?
@@struttmusic487 I hope so.^^
It's going to be a Strat-like alder body with a maple top. No tremolo but a fixed brigde. The neck is going to be a prebuilt one because I want to learn piece by piece how to build an electric guitar. I am focussing on building the body now. With the next guitar that I will try to build someday I will try to also build the neck myself. I always wanted to build my own electric guitar but I never really dared to try it, because I didn't want to waste valuable wood just because I did mess up.
@@A.HollerMusic I think that's exactly what you should do. A hard tail with no tremolo to avoid extra routing and string through body and save the neck for later.
Send me what you make, I'd love to see what it turns out like. Good luck
@@struttmusic487 It will take a lot of time but I sure will show it to you once it's finished.
Thank you for your advice. 😊
Beautiful build! Inspiring! What species of wood did you use for the body and neck?
Thank you! It's black limba...a very interesting piece. Will definitely be working with it again
It is absolutely beautiful!!! Very nice work! Can you please tell us what type of bridge is that I never saw it before?
Thank you very much! It's a Deusenberg Les Trem II. They're amazing
@@struttmusic487 Thank you so much for your reply!
Excuse please. What kind of bridge is on this guitar? Beautiful work
Thanks so much. It's a Duesenberg Les Trem. Similar action to a bigsby but a bit smoother
Amazing guitar, i'm very curious about this vibrato you are using, do you mind to show where to buy it?
I can't remember where I bought it but it's a Duesenberg Les Trem II
What is the brand/model of that trem bridge? It looks like a combination of bigsby & stetsbar.
It's a Duesenberg Les Trem II. Incredible thing
@@struttmusic487 thanks
luar biasa keren banget 👏👏👏
Thanks so much
Nice guitar. What kind of bridge is that? btw
Thanks man its a Duesenberg Les Trem II
What type of bridge is that? Looks similiar to a bigsby
Kind of, it's a Deusenberg Les Trem II
Just saw this video. What type of wood was the top that shattered?
Burled golden camphor
LE PUSISTE LA TOMA A TIERRA? CONECTADA AL PUENTE????
I didn't show it but I connected the ground to the bridge post. The standard way I suppose
Does anyone know what kind of vibrato is that?
Duesenberg Les Trem II

Nice build,,having built from scratch,,this guitar is not cost effective,,unless you keep it I guess,,is it a player ,,like to know,, I'd keep this one for sure
I enjoy hand-built guitars rather than more economical CNC builds. It plays incredibly well and sounds great. I'll be selling this one soon, I just need to do a final setup
cool guitar, but to make it more authentic you must get a broken Gibson and glue it with golden epoxy
That would certainly be a bit more ballsy!
He needs a legit vise
I need a legit workshop
ビデオの最後に流れる音楽はラケットで、ギターで演奏されている動きと一致していないため、このギターの動作を聞くのは良いことです。
The music that plays at the end of the video is a racket and doesn't match the movements being played on the guitar, so it's good to hear this guitar in action.👍
Sounds like you're not a fan. Thanks for taking the time to let me know you didn't like it
Beautiful
Thank you!
